End the long overdue sweeps for aliens in the United States? Let’s hope not: the only people this should make nervous are criminals. Our borders need securing and the petty fears of a few people should not constitute a reason to endanger millions of American lives and to further burden our already war taxed economy.
FOX News has the following story:
LOS ANGELES - For years, border patrol agents in Southern California have done just that - patrol the U.S. border with Mexico and highway checkpoints, arresting illegal immigrants only near the border.
But now those agents are extending their reach inland, conducting sweeps in cities and arresting hundreds of illegal immigrants in states like California, Arizona and Texas.
The crackdown is causing panic in some heavily Latino areas. The Catholic Church has even weighed in, with one cardinal issuing a statement saying the “recent interior activity has generated fear, confusion and anger throughout Hispanic neighborhoods” and calling for the sweeps to end.
In a related story, we can only hope that cooler heads prevail when it comes to the future, because if some persons have their way, the 3 million plus annual illegals crossing from Mexico into the U.S. will one day be legally affecting United States laws and threatening our sovereignty.
Do not underestimate the forces that would love to pull apart or topple the world’s last Superpower for their own gain; these threats do not only come from the Middle East.
Mexican Official Wants Border Eliminated
It might sound like more hysteria, but I’ve heard enough rumors out of California to know that there are Mexicans and Mexican-Americans working hard to reverse history. When these criticisms are raised, the usual tactic employed to defend the accused is a smear campaign with the tirades against “neo-cons” and “looney right-wingers”, like in the well publicized concerns regarding the case of Cruz Bustamante and MEChA.
It is all too easy to use propaganda to shut up concerned Americans, but Freedom of Speech is protected for everyone, correct? If MEChA has nothing to hide, then they will not get upset by some casual observation or even closer scrutiny.
