Somewhere in the jumble of the news and probably due in no small part to my abstaining from watching the tainted media of the major U.S. networks CBS, ABC and NBC — I have somehow missed until a few days ago a shocking story.
It would seem that a Muslim Call to Prayer has been allowed by a city council vote in the Michigan town of Hamtramck despite protests of many of the 23,000 residents.
(CBS/AP) Long known for pierogi and polka, the bustling city of Hamtramck, Mich., is now debating whether to add an amplified Arabic chant to the local sights and sounds.
In a sign of the deep changes in this once predominantly Polish town, the City Council is expected Tuesday to pass a noise ordinance amendment that would permit mosques to issue the traditional Islamic call to prayer over loudspeakers.
But some longtime residents are resisting what they consider an affront to non-Muslims.
Hamtramck, a city of 23,000 completely surrounded by Detroit, has an old-fashioned, small-town feel, with mom-and-pop stores and American flags adorning many of the tightly packed houses. Polish groceries and restaurants abound, and if you stop someone to ask for directions, there is a good chance that person speaks only Polish.
But in recent years, the city has become much more diverse. Stores selling saris and halal meat have opened, and signs in Bengali, Arabic and Bosnian compete with signs in Polish and English. Only 23 percent of the city’s residents specified Polish ancestry in the 2000 census. The town also has a sizable black population - 15 percent.
Well, God bless those who opposed this choice, because I’m going to say right here, right now, that let this be the LAST time this happens in the United States. If the 10 Commandments can not be put on a stone outside a school or courthouse, if the Christian Cross must be removed from the Seal of the City of Los Angeles despite the fact that a pagan Greek goddess remains — well, where is the justification for having a vocalized call to prayer in any language for Islam anywhere in these United States?
Islam in its current incarnation is the enemy of this nation, folks.
That’s right. And I’m not backing off that stance either. The information I continue to uncover in my personal reading and research in regards to Islamic history and its “prophet” Muhammad is nothing less than appalling. Are we to actually sit back after the events of 9-11 and after the decades of misery brought upon us and other Western nations by militants from the Middle East in terrorist attack after terrorist attack and now allow this culture to become such a segment of American society that we may one day become them?
NO DAMN WAY.
Question:- What is the Muslim Call to Prayer?
Answer:- Text of the call in Arabic with English translation:
Arabic: “Allaahu akbar, Allaah akbar, Allaahu akbar, Allaah akbar; ash-hadu an laa ilaah ill-Allaah, ash-hadu an laa ilaah ill-Allaah; ash-hadu anna Muhammadan rasool-Allaah, ash-hadu anna Muhammadan rasool-Allaah; hayya ala al-salaah, hayya ala’ al-salaah; hayya ala’ l-falaah, hayya ala’ l-falaah; Allaahu akbar, Allaahu akbar; Laa ilaaha ill-Allaah”
Translation:- “Allah is most Great, Allah is most Great, Allah is most Great, Allah is most Great. I bear witness that there is no god except Allah, I bear witness that there is no god except Allah. I bear witness that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, I bear witness that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah. Come to prayer, come to prayer; come to success, come to success. Allah is most Great, Allah is most Great, there is no god except Allah).
Call me every name in the book, but there is no way in Hell that I am going to be silent about this. The very notion of having this Call to Prayer for Islamic worship taking place on American soil makes me nauseated. It’s one thing to have religious tolerance despite the fact that I know the harsh truths about Islam, but to know that there is at least one place in this nation where Islam is bending laws to its will and displacing the public interest for its own perpetuation is intolerable, especially when there are other portions of this country squelching the interests of the Christians and Jews that built this nation!
This must not stand. It can not stand. Hamtramck, you should hold city council again and renounce the Call to Prayer statute. Americans everywhere should email Hamtramck politicians and voice your displeasure reasonably but pointedly.
But most of all, I’m imploring the rest of the United States, do not allow this trend to continue. I can promise you that to validate Islam in this manner on American soil is beyond dangerous.
This will not be the last word on this subject here at Foehammer’s Anvil. Trust me.

And so we dont forget
“Islam isn’t in America to be equal to any other faith, but to become dominant. The Qur’an should be the highest authority in America, and Islam the only accepted religion on earth.” –Omar Ahmed, Chairman of the Board of CAIR (Council of American Islamic Relations), San Ramon Valley Herald, July 1998
Well done, foehammer. I’m glad that I found your site, and I enjoy visiting and respect what you are doing. I recently moved to Holland, and the same problem exists here in Europe, but to a larger extent. Rotterdam is now inhabited by Morroccan muslims to a very high percentage. It’s sad. The people I live with tell me how it is no longer the Rotterdam they grew up with. How long are we going to wait? Until these communities impose Islamic law as some have in England? This cannot happen. I believe there is something in the constitution that says that no other law shall supercede the law of the land. I think first that Islam should be thought of as not a religion but what it is - a cult. Should it be considered to sponser terrorism? Maybe it should - well, my opinion is that it should. Hopefully the West will wake up to the menace in time. Apathy runs rampant everywhere as does political correctness, so who knows? Being far away from my home country sort of magnifies all the faults with it. Well, keep up the good work, and thanks again for what you do.
I may very well be one, or both, or neither, young Foehammer, but I haven’t tried to defend Islam here or anywhere else. What I’m more interested in right now is your strangely ambiguous relationship with the First Amendment - are you fer it, or agin it?
You know, when you ask a question (such as “where is the justification for having a vocalized call to prayer in any language for Islam anywhere in these United States?”), and someone helpfully answers, the courteous thing to do would be to thank that person.
You’re a funny fellow.
And you’re Irish. Explains all I need to know. I dealt with an entire forum full of this pigheaded, holier-than-thou foolishness from my ‘kin’ for too long, long before you arrived here, where I was the hated American and put upon by ingrates, deluded pseudo-intellectuals and legendary stubbornness, and I warned you I wouldn’t indulge you further.
I learn. You don’t. And I keep my promises.
Don’t come here and try to defend Islam. I consider anyone that does that one of two things: a fool or an enemy.
You have a noise ordinance law in your village, town or city, Im sure. But youd see fit to have this thrown out. Thats what they had to do in Hamtramck to make way for the tower calls.
Do you see this kind of standard law being repealed for Christians, Buddhists or Hindus or Jews? I dont have a church bell tolling in my ear anywhere around my neighborhood at all hours of the morning, afternoon and evening.
Have you read the story you linked to? “Muslims figured it was no different than Christians ringing church bells which incidentally ring just across the street from the mosque five times a day, reports Cowan.”
So anyway… you have some problem with the First Amendment? Or just double standards in how it should be applied?
(Your relevance:words ratio is poor and getting poorer, by the way).
Are there actual thought processes going on in your head worth me responding to? This will probably be the final time I indulge your density.

Hopefully you get that I’m allowed to go outside the boundaries of your box-like, one sentence response to one of my many sentenced articles in order to make a point, but considering that this goes over your head or you are perpetually trying to grate on the nerves of someone that plays this game far better than you ever will — a waste of our mutual time.
Especially on my own blog.
Deal in double-standards all you wish, but don’t do it here on the Anvil.

These are religious practices?
LOL.
Ok, I’ll let them build Call to Prayer towers if bands can practice in garages without incident, if dogs can bark all hours of the day without a policeman being called and if the ‘10 Commandments’ can be posted in schools, city halls, courtrooms and libraries.
Dhimmitude is rampant today I see. Or just plain stupidity.

First Amendment?
oh one more thing the catholic church back in the 18th century torterd people in the name of religion.one torture was a women did not belive so they hug her then gutted her so her intesdants fell on the ground and then they made her kids eat them.all im saying is all kinds of people have done sick thing and not always for religion.dont judge a religion or nation on what others have done.oh and 9/11 was done by radical muslims both the shi’ites and sunnis did not condon the radical muslims the Qur’an does not condon killing even in war women, children and elders are not to be harmed may you missed that one when reading the Qur’an oh and im not a muslim i just study culture people politics and religion.love you fellow man no matter how distant a neighbor.and do unto other as you would have them do on to you.
You could not have done by a cursory gleaning of information on this site at best for you to attempt to post this nonsense here. I’m sorry to say.
Please look around. You’re wasting my time and yours when you do not seek the truth.
foehammer you say things and then another how can you be aginst the public call for prayer(take away thair freedom to do so)and expect freedom to have the 10 commandments outside of a school.
Did Muslims build Western Civilization, Tabitha, or attempt to tear it apart? I do not seek equivalence here, I seek Western dominance over barbarism. Islam is a cult, a false ideology, a lie.
Did I make myself clear enough in the fewest words possible?
And this site is not pro-religion — it is pro-West. Nowhere do you see me ever espouse one religion to be something I’m focused on. I am an intellectual first, spiritualist second. But that said, I certainly pay homage where it is due, and Judeo-Christian religious doctrine are what have allowed freedom to exist in this world, not any other. If you don’t believe that, ask Buddhists and Hindus why they suffered under (and still do in most parts of the world) so many tyrants, extreme class systems, Communism and the like.
As for Muslims, they have lived inside a fascist/royalist/theocratic state except by the point of a gun in places like Egypt and Turkey since Muhammad first took control of Arabia.
There is no separation of church (mosque) and state in Islam. It IS a political body. You have got to stop trying to create a garden for this weed to grow in by allowing them to overturn sound ordinances in Michigan while at the same time people force crosses off state and city emblems where they have existed since the founding of those places.
Equivalence is a disease. I think I’m going to add that to my site headlines now.

well i have to say you both make good points, but not strong ones kim your on the right track with letting them have freedom in a free country, foehammer you say things and then another how can you be aginst the public call for prayer(take away thair freedom to do so)and expect freedom to have the 10 commandments outside of a school. If you want to fight for religiuos freedom then do so but dont try to take away another persons freedom becouse they one a small battle if you spent more time protesting to get god back in school and government and less on bashing muslims you might win a little here or ther to.and to fully understand the Qur’an you have to get the explination book with it allah does mean god in arabic.and malcom-x was black and when he visited the middle east he then became muslim.he wasnt biiter about the slave days i thing eveyone was wrong in those days the trible leaders in africa for selling them and the people who bought them.oh and it doesnt matter how many books you have, becouse obviously you have gain nothing and are still alittle ill prepared.if you would like to talk further and learn some things becouse the news as well as books are not always correct as they are secondary informatin.i have firs hand knowledge of many national and political things.and if you ever decide to protest for you religion and right insted of trying to take others i will be happy to join you.my e-mail is tombow122@aol.com thank you for your time.
Open your holy books and educate yourself. It is important not to spreed lies and hate. Do we want the same thing to happen to the muslums, that happen to the jews.
Open up a newspaper. Find an incident where a Hindu, Christian or Jew killed someone today in the name of their religion and send me a website link to that newspaper’s site so I can find it myself.
I’ve read the Quran. A copy is on my shelves along with over 1,000 other books. I think if you’re going to come and start insulting me, you’d better at least take the time to read more of this site, understand who you’re attempting to preach to.
This site is not about moral equivalence between religions. I already know who’s doing the killing, who has done the killing and who plans to do the killing. It’s all in 1300 years of history books, of which I’ve barely had time to scratch the surface, but I do know enough that even my own ancestors were raped and pillaged by the Muslims for over 300 years in one section of this globe, so don’t expect to get some sympathy from me. And no, I’m not Jewish.
The Nazis were in league with the Arab Muslims in their mutual pursuit of genocide against the Jews. Why do you think so much HATE exists in Islam — go read the Quran. It’s all in there in stark black and white.
Thanks for posting your opinions, but you haven’t so much as put a blemish on me. Your facts are skewed and you’d be well-off loving your own culture more than that of enlightened barbarians that would enslave you as soon as look at you.
Oh, and one last thing: Islam was brought to Africa by Arabs who enslaved blacks then and still do. Perhaps some eunuchs escaped or were released to spread the words of Muhammad, but all the same, the true religions of Africa are animist, not of One God and frankly, far too many African-Americans are in the dark about the vileness of Islam and what it has cost their ancestors. It is just more testimony to how evil and widespread the cult of Islam’s lie is.
This country was build on the backs of slaves and if you read your history most of them where muslum from west Africa, in tell they forced them to become christian. I live in Michigan and Hamtramick is majority Muslum. Its ok for the church bells to ring, but its a problem for muslums to have a call to prayer. By the way the interpertaion is God is great, not Allah is great. Allah ,only means god in Arabic, if you open up any christian bible in Arabic you will clearly see this. If you also open up the torah or bible you will see that this same name, was uesd by almost every prohet. They called on ellah. And they prayed in the holy city of becca which is now called Mecca. Open your holy books and educate yourself. It is important not to spreed lies and hate. Do we want the same thing to happen to the muslums, that happen to the jews. Instead of placeing a American flag this site should have a Nazi Flag up. Maybe I should open up a site with the teachings Of David coresh or other crazy extreme christians and say they represent all of the christians in the world.
