I am not at all surprised by this story just reported by Fox News. I basically predicted this would be the outcome many days ago, in fact. The man smelled of deserter from the start — and we’ve already seen how frail the loyalties of Muslims are to the United States, over and over again.
BAGHDAD, Iraq - An Iraqi militant group said Monday it had not killed U.S. Marine Wassef Ali Hassoun but had moved him to “a place of safety” after he pledged not to return to the American armed forces, Al-Jazeera television reported.
A spokesman for the Hassoun family in West Jordan, Utah, told Fox News on Monday that the family had no comment while it was trying to confirm the Al-Jazeera report. The family was scheduled to make a statement later Monday.
In a statement sent to Al-Jazeera, a group calling itself “Islamic Response” said it was holding Cpl. Wassef Ali Hassoun, a U.S. Marine of Lebanese heritage. The group said he was safe at a location it did not identify.
What does this say about Islam to Americans? And no, I’m not going to apologize for stating what should be obvious by now.
Religion before Country? If that’s the case, get out. And if it isn’t, and you are a Muslim-American, you better start looking closely at your compatriots here, because I for one am going to start keep track of these instances and see what kind of trend we are really looking at. I’m sure plenty of the Politick Correct will do everything they can to say this is just a rare thing, that it means nothing — but folks, this Muslim-American was a Marine!
My father was a Marine. Marines almost never desert.
NOTE: I have attempted to find fact-based statistics about desertion in the American armed forces and especially the Marines, but I have to say that if there is one thing that is glaringly obvious it is this: since Vietnam, the proliferation of disinformation and propaganda from anti-war protesters, draft dodgers and the like has been profuse. Do a quick search on the Internet and you will be very hard pressed to find any statistics about desertion that have any qualified sources referenced.
To help put this into perspective, read this interesting article.

If he really is a Deserter, we don’t want him, let him rot there
If he is not, then we need to extract him yesterday, or if its impossible to get him out, sent in one of those air stealer city busters, so they can’t torture him.
If he is a Marine, he would want it, if he is one of them , then it’s better to finish it.
