U.S. Border Protection Goes Neutron

This might sound like science-fiction, but considering how the United States has neglected its borders over the past century, it’s probably about time that we started pulling out the stops. From Wired News:

The border patrol has decided to go nuclear against those who want to sneak barrels of mustard gas, bales of marijuana or bundles of bucks into the country.

Starting early next week, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, or CBP, agents will start testing a nuclear scanning device, called a Pulsed Fast Neutron Analysis system (PDF), that will show a border agent the molecular construction of all materials in an 18-wheeler without the agent having to open the truck

Coren: It has to be said

Toronto Sun Columnist Michael Coren tells it like it is about the Crusades and other lies perpetuated by Islam. Can you handle the truth?:

THERE ARE things you are not supposed to say. Things that people pretend are not true. Things that get you into all sorts of trouble because we live in a dishonest world. Here goes…

Not supposed to say that the Crusades were not some vile Christian slaughter, but a response by Europe to the military expansion of Islam. Muslim armies had invaded Christian lands and would continue to do so for hundreds of years. They moved into Spain and reached the gates of Vienna.

Hang Al-Sadr

Once again, clear thinking coming from the secular American-Muslims behind FMCAT:

The Free Muslim Coalition Against Terrorism urges Arab and Muslim leaders to provide moral support to the new Iraqi government in its bid to defeat Muqtada al-Sadr and his Mehdi Army.

It has been more than a year since the invasion of Iraq. Some were for the war and some were against the war. However, continuing to argue about whether the war was justified is now moot and not constructive. No matter what is one’s view about the invasion of Iraq, the Arab and Muslim world must now agree that a stable, prosperous Iraq is in everyone’s best interest.

American Borders Overdue for Real Protection

For the longest time now, most of us who are realists have understood that the borders of the United States are inadequately protected. So, this report is not a surprise, but it is infuriating none-the-less.

From the Telegraph with thanks to Jihad Watch:

President Bush has launched a drive to halt illegal immigration across America’s porous southern border, amid growing fears that terrorists may be using Mexico as a base camp before heading to Arizona, Texas and California.

Commentary Too Serious to Ignore

You must read this United Press International commentary By Arnaud de Borchgrave:

WASHINGTON, Aug. 9 (UPI) – Before we convince ourselves al-Qaida’s down for the count, look at the stats.

Number of Islamist extremists in the world, as estimated by moderate Muslim leaders, about 12 million. Number of fundamentalist sympathizers: 120 million. That’s one and 10 percent of the world’s Muslim population of 1.2 billion. Then there’s the number who trust Osama Bin Laden more than President Bush: a majority in Muslim countries whose populations total 450 million.

50 Percent of Muslims Worldwide May Be Extremists

From the August 5, 2004 edition of the O’Reilly Factor, Kamal Nawash of FMCAT had some shocking and, in my own view, very truthful things to admit about Islam:

AN EXTREME PROBLEM:

Two leaders of a mosque in Albany have been charged with plotting to murder a Pakistani diplomat in New York City. Muslim-American activist Kamal Nawash told The Factor that Muslim leaders need to speak out against terror: “We have to come out and admit that we have a problem with extremism… it’s a movement that’s been growing for twenty years throughout the entire Muslim world.” Nawash further claimed that many as fifty percent of Muslims around the world support the goals of the extremists.

Robert Spencer and Jihad Watch

cover

I have been a regular reader of Robert Spencer’s excellent web site, Jihad Watch, for several months now. So, I was very pleased to see Mr. Spencer this morning on Fox News, where he was given the forum for a few minutes to relate what amounts to rare glimmers of frank discussion about the current roots of the Islamic terrorist threat and the truth behind it.

Iraq Evidence Led Feds to Albany Mosque

Well, what will the Left have to say now, I wonder? More spin? I don’t know how they can spin their way around this FOX News report:

ALBANY, N.Y. - Information found in Iraq led federal investigators to become suspicious of an Albany, N.Y., mosque leader, FOX News has learned.

Last summer, U.S. troops discovered Yassin Muhhiddin Aref’s name, telephone number and address in a book left behind in a vacated terrorist training camp, a U.S. official told FOX News. The book also revealed that Ansar al-Islam, the group running the camp, had given Aref a title: “the commander.”

Albany Mosque Arrests and Heathrow Airport a Target

Breaking Reuters report just substantiates the building theme this month which seems to be - trust no one who worships Allah:

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Two men suspected of being involved with an al Qaeda affiliate were arrested in Albany, New York, on Thursday in a scheme to launder money to buy a shoulder-fired missile, U.S. law enforcement sources said.

The sources said the arrests on Thursday night were unrelated to the raising of the terror threat level over the weekend on intelligence that al Qaeda was targeting financial centers in the United States.

Iranian MP: Muslims in America Are Time Bombs

From the Middle East Media Research Institute comes the following transcript. The implications should be obvious:

Iranian MP Hamid-Reza Katoziyan was interviewed by the Iranian TV channel Jaam-E-Jam 2 and spoke about possible terror attacks by Muslims in the US. The following are excerpts:

Katoziyan: The whole group of people belonging to the Arab community and a large part of the Pakistani and Indian Muslims living in the US are currently, in my opinion, in a special situation. Perhaps they do not walk the streets with weapons in their hands or attach bombs to themselves in order to carry out a suicide operation, but the thought is there.

All American Muslims Should Be Suspect

Remember the Communist scare in the United States? The jokes that still abound — “There’s a Commie behind every tree!” Well, unfortunately, the realistic viewpoint that Islam harbors thousands of enemies in the United States is substantiated by the truth behind “mainstream” Muslims like Abdurahman Alamoudi.

From FrontPage magazine comes the following excellent article by Daniel Pipes:

In 2002, the spokesman for FBI director Robert Mueller memorably described the American Muslim Council (AMC) as the “the most mainstream Muslim group in the United States.” A year later, the Catholic bishops called the AMC “the premier, mainstream Muslim group in Washington.”
