The author of the book Imperial Hubris has disclosed his identity after resigning from the CIA. Michael Scheuer appeared on Meet the Press this morning.
While I may disagree with many of this man’s observations, I must respect his bravery in stating his position and at the cost of a job he obviously loved and one in which he worked hard to protect this country.

Recently Jacques Chirac, President of France, made some insane remarks about how the West should not impose its values upon the world.
“Granted, it is still possible to organise the world based on a logic of power,” Mr Chirac told a gathering sponsored by the London-based International Institute for Strategic Studies.
I would simply point out that Jacques Chirac should be far more concerned about the Middle East impressing its values upon the West.

Suspected attack comes after Dutch filmmaker critical of Islam slain
Well, it seems some of the Dutch won’t sit idly by while their citizens are murdered by members of the Jihad. Here’s an excerpt from an AP report:
THE HAGUE, Netherlands - A suspected bomb blew the front door off a Muslim elementary school in a southern Dutch town on Monday, days after a suspected Muslim radical allegedly killed a Dutch filmmaker, police said. No injuries were reported.
I’ve been hearing quite a bit of foolishness coming out of Europe the past couple of days: all the doom-saying about re-electing George W. Bush; how the oh-so-wise French and British would have elected John Kerry by a landslide if they’d had the chance, etc., etc.

The results of this election have restored my faith in the United States. Though the win may not yet be “official”, I have little doubt that George W. Bush will now serve another term in office, and I feel it was definitely the best choice for these times. Now, hopefully, we can get down to the business of ridding the world of Osama bin Laden and ending this mad threat from the cult of Islam one way or another.
Congratulations, Mr. President.

Sometimes things are said so well by another, there’s really no sense in trying to better it. So, this day before the National Election, I urge you to read on:
The following commentary was written by Matthew Manweller, a political science professor at Central Washington University:
“In that this will be my last column before the presidential
election, there will be no sarcasm, no attempts at witty repartee. The topic is too serious, and the stakes are too high.
