In the snow-draped mountains near Jalalabad in November 2001, as the Taliban collapsed and al Qaeda lost its Afghan sanctuary, Osama bin Laden biographer Hamid Mir watched “every second al Qaeda member carrying a laptop computer along with a Kalashnikov” as they prepared to scatter into hiding and exile. On the screens were photographs of Sept. 11 hijacker Mohamed Atta.

I received this email this morning. It is the first of its kind and I wanted to share it with my readers and get your opinion on this man’s accusation. Here then is the complete body of the email:
Message: You say you are a warrior against terrorism. A warrior has the courage to sign his name to his word. I have been a warrior against terrorism. Do not dimminish the name and reputation of those I have seen die in active service by adding your anonymous pseudonym to that role of honour. You are not a warrior until you fight in a real war against a real enemy and risk real life. You are a virtual warrior and then only in your overactive imagination.
signed David Thornley.
Finally, someone is getting the right idea. From the Associated Press:
LONDON - Prime Minister Tony Blair proposed strict anti-terror measures Friday that would allow Britain to expel foreigners who preach hatred, close extremist mosques and bar entry to Muslim radicals. “The rules of the game are changing” following last month’s bomb attacks, he declared. The proposals, which also target extremist Web sites and bookshops, are aimed primarily at excluding radical Islamic clerics accused of whipping up hatred and violence among vulnerable, disenfranchised Muslim men.

Just wanted to post a reminder today that Islam is a tolerant religion. Here’s your reminder:

That is the road to Mecca (Makkah) in Saudi Arabia, but never doubt you would one day see more of such signs if the great Caliphate (formerly the Ottoman Empire) is re-established and Western nations are Islamicized the way the Muslims are working towards around the world.

The following story from the Telegraph is a textbook example of how Islamists have historically striven to wipe away all memory of opposing cultures. This kind of behavior in our modern era is more common than you likely know.:
Police consider Muslim link to cemetery attack
By Colin Randall in Paris
The headstones of 42 British soldiers who fell in combat in the First World War have been desecrated in what police in northern France believe may have been the work of Islamist attackers.
