I received this email this morning. It is the first of its kind and I wanted to share it with my readers and get your opinion on this man’s accusation. Here then is the complete body of the email:
Message: You say you are a warrior against terrorism. A warrior has the courage to sign his name to his word. I have been a warrior against terrorism. Do not dimminish the name and reputation of those I have seen die in active service by adding your anonymous pseudonym to that role of honour. You are not a warrior until you fight in a real war against a real enemy and risk real life. You are a virtual warrior and then only in your overactive imagination.
signed David Thornley.
I’m sure, Mr. Thornley, that you will not mind having your name and words printed here, despite the fact that you sent them via an anonymous emailer like Hotmail.
At least now I know that when I posted my URL yesterday on Jihad Watch, I’m getting new readers here. Unfortunately, not all of them are friendly.
I’ll live, I’ll remain anonymous and I’ll continue the fight.

Virtual Warrior, OK, I will reserve warrior, though in wide useage otherwise, for those brave enough to put their bodies in harms way. Mr. Thornley, having fought for our freedoms, does deserve our respect. However, he will still need to defend his opinions, even when confronting anonymous truths. I feel like I’m missing something. If he knew foehammer’s name, if foehammer no longer called himself a warrior, I suspect he would still take issue with foehammer’s words. Might we read that discussion?
The assumption that a word like ‘warrior’ only applies to a soldier with a rifle is patently absurd. In my experience, this type of hubris on the part of Mr. Thornley is sometimes a negative trait of those in uniform.
For the record, what you see before you in this blog entry is the only communication that has ever transpired between he and I to my knowledge. I must therefore state that when he is referring to me calling myself a ‘warrior’, I honestly do not know where he is getting this statement from, and if anyone can find such an utterance from me on this blog, please refresh my memory.
However, that being said, there is little doubt that I am putting myself in harm’s way by creating this blog back in 2004, by maintaining it and speaking out about Islam in the manner I do, which I would remind you is brutally honest and not something you are going to read in a mainstream newspaper anytime soon.
For me to reveal myself would endanger my family, and that is not something I am about to do.
As for myself, for the record, my resumes have been on file with both the CIA and the NSA since October, 2001. So, the idea that I am afraid to get directly involved in this fight is also patently false.
There’s really nothing else I should offer up on this topic. How anyone views what I do here is a matter of opinion, but I’d prefer those opinions to be educated ones, and that’s why I have divulged this information.
I take nothing away from Mr. Thornley’s contributions to this conflict, but unlike him, I have not attacked his character. His attack upon mine will, as you have noted by now, never go without a rebuke from me. Not ever.
For the record,Foehammer good job, It was not at all my intent to echo any implication of cowardice. But rather to demonstrate the futility of his attack on you. I don’t know you, your reputation is not as important to me as your message- understandably you probably feel otherwise
BTW I noticed your post on watchmyjihad concerning reporting a nuisance, and as I am new to this, could you provide a link for such reporting? Thanks
the guy’s been out in the sun too long..

The frightening nature of knowledge leaves one no alternative
but to become a warrior.
~ Carlos Castaneda, A Separate Reality
It is the consistent choice of the path with heart
Which makes the warrior different from the average man.
He knows that a path has heart when he is one with it,
When he experiences a great peace and pleasure traversing its length.
~ don Juan
A warrior is always joyful because his love is unalterable and his beloved,
the earth, embraces him and bestows upon him inconceivable gifts.
~ Don Juan in Tales of Power by Carlos Castaneda
… as mysterious and rich as anything can be. All we need to pluck the wonders of this world of everyday life is enough detachment. But more than detachment, we need enough affection and abandon. “A warrior must love this world,” don Juan said, “in order for this world that seems so commonplace to open up and show its wonders.”
~ Carlos Castaneda, The Wheel of Time (1998)
Hi Foehammer,
I hope the rather rabid troll doesn’t show up here at your site.
It is not cowardly to be cautious these days.
