Have many of you been following the suspiciously little-reported Saddam Hussein Tapes story? There is some very clear and dangerous language in these tapes that would seem to vindicate the assault on Iraq and unveil our worst fears: that WMD terror is soon to be exported to the United States from the Islamic world. Could this be why so little is being said about these tapes in the liberal press? I’m here to say: DUH!

I’m wondering if MEMRI is going to translate these tapes. I searched the site but so far have not turned up anything there on this topic. It’s perhaps too early since the tapes themselves have only been released to the public very recently.
Translation excerpt: “In the future, what would prevent a booby-trapped car causing a nuclear explosion in Washington or a germ or a chemical one? This is coming, this story is coming but not from Iraq.”

I’ve always laughed when people say “there were no WMD’s”. There had to have been, Saddam used them against the Kurds and Iran. I always though he got rid of them or hid them. So when I heard about Saddam’s Generals spilling the beans, I wasn’t surprized.
