Hopefully by now you have heard of the 910 Group — a new worldwide movement that is intent on putting a stop to Islamofascism. The flow of thought on the forums is truly spectacular and I have been contributing a little bit here and there.
This morning I voiced my concerns about a part of the Mission Statement wording, as reprinted in a forum posting by Vicktory:
* We seek to reverse radical Islam’s intention to wage global jihad, and stop any totalitarian movement to impose fascist domination upon any unwilling persons or nations.
I have very deep concerns that the 910 Group has the term “radical Islam” in the Mission Statement. Any devout Muslim claims Muhammad as his/her example, upholds jihad and Sharia Law as principles and studies the Hadith and the Qur’an. This means that the majority, not the minority as we are so often mislead, is the great concern for everyone that is outside the bounds of Islam.
I would much prefer a term like Islamofascism to radical Islam, because Islam itself is fascist at its core, while the fringe Muslims that are tolerant or moderate might not adhere to fascist ideology — so perhaps we do not state Islam as the one true enemy (a longterm error in my opinion, but I digress), we can at least focus on Islam’s greatest flaws.
This myth of “radical Islam” must be squelched. There are Muslims that do not want to practice devoutly, yes — there are cultural Muslims or those that try to run from Islam’s grim laws and hope one day to become apostates, but in the greater reality of the world, the violence and horrors that we witness in this world perpetuated by Muslims do not happen in a tiny vacuum — they are perpetuated by the flock in thousands of mosques, inculcated by daily diatribes from Islamic clergy worldwide and the pressures of the worst groups of all like Hamas, Hezbollah and Al Qaeda, the Wahhabi Saudi Princes and that maniac in Iran.
I recommended the following changes to the Mission Statement:
* We seek to oppose Islamofascists and any Muslims intent on spreading Islam and Sharia Law by force-of-will or force-of arms and/or jihad.
* We seek to help cultivate a truly moderate and tolerant Islam whose new reformers would be intent on stopping global jihad, and ending any Islamic totalitarian movement that seeks to impose fascist domination upon any unwilling persons or nations.
