The following article set me off this morning. From the AFP with thanks to Jihad Watch:
A third World War is already underway between Islamic militancy and the West but most people do not realize it, the former head of Israel’s intelligence service Mossad said in an interview published Saturday in Portugal.
‘We are in the midst of a third World War,’ former Mossad chief Efraim Halevy told weekly newspaper Expresso.
‘The world does not understand. A person walks through the streets of Tel Aviv, Barcelona or Buenos Aires and doesn’t get the sense that there is a war going on,’ said Halevy who headed Mossad between 1998 and 2003.
‘During World War I and II the entire world felt there was a war. Today no one is conscious of it. From time to time there is a terrorist attack in Madrid, London and New York and then everything stays the same.’
Violence by Islamic militants has already disrupted international travel and trade just as in the previous two world conflicts, he said.
Halevy, who was raised in war-time London, predicted it would take at least 25 years before the battle against Islamic fundamentalist terrorism is won and during this time a nuclear strike by Islamic militants was likely.
And how exactly are things going to get better for any non-Muslims at this rate?
We have Muslims in greater numbers and propinquity now then we ever had before 9-11 — and if that didn’t wake us up, I guess it’s no exaggeration anymore that almost nothing will. Instead it has created a climate of fear where the self-absorbed Hollywood elite come out in desperate attack upon our own leaders, especially the President, even when he is trying to do the right thing without himself having the courage and/or wisdom to confront this Islamic evil head-on.
Even at Jihad Watch comments dance around the damn issue too much.
Even at 910 Group it’s the same. Dance, dance, dance.
No wonder that people see Muslims gaining more brash confidence!
During World War I & II and almost every conflict in history for that matter, wars have been fought between uniformed soldiers — but this modern war is one of attrition and ideologies, terrorism, politics, propaganda, espionage and fear. The Islamists view the rest of us a cattle to either be killed, “reverted” or enslaved. Nothing more. So they will not shirk from breaking our economies, dragging us down into the mud with their own “civilizations”, killing our innocents and murdering our soldiers while wearing no uniforms or the uniforms of our allies to do it.
How the hell Iran is not being officially charged with a Declaration of War from the United States right now is the real question! Could you imagine in 1939 if the American people had found out that Japanese or Nazi spies were responsible for the deaths of American GIs — what the response then would have been? It would have been no less than what happened after Pearl Harbor. And yet, here we are in 2007, debating whether it is ok to even kill the bastards that are responsible for killing our boys and girls overseas and far worse, and even more likely planning attacks upon Americans abroad and here on American soil!
I’m sick to death of this cowardly behavior. It’s time for the truly civilized world to start to come to grips with the fact that Islam is a threat beyond reason, and that we can no longer continue this charade that we can some how get along with Muslims because the “majority are peaceful.” What a laugh that is.
There is not an hour on this planet that goes by that there is not a Muslim carrying out a crime or terrorist act against a non-Muslim because he believes in Islam!
The war is here. Own the fact that a lot of us are not going to see the end of another three decades because of Islam and the reality might — might — start to set in: that if we are going to die, let’s do it smartly and do it forcing Islam into the corner where it belongs, removing it from our shores sooner rather than later, and above all, start talking turkey about what this massive cult really is about, has caused for the world in thirteen hundred years of turmoil, bloodshed and strife and what it plans for our futures. If we refuse to believe that human beings are capable of evil enmasse because of a gigantic lie such as Islam, then we are truly doomed to fail as a civilized species.
Foehammer, out.

Perhaps the Western world would see the Islamic threat better had the Ottoman Empire somehow survived to the present day, armed with nuclear weapons. During the Cold War the USSR was a big target that people could look at as a menace because of its size. Looking at a map today there isn’t a single member of the ummah that rivals the US in size. This is a simplistic notion I know but I think a lot of people simply look at Iran and think “pipsqueak”-one that simply wouldn’t dare to strike at the US. Well, it dares and even though it won’t wipe out the entire nation it could, through its agents, cause severe damage to it. Plus, it CAN wipe out Israel and if that were to happen the US would have to retaliate. Too many people just don’t get it and it will take something worse than 9/11 to have people get it.
I don’t think there’s anything simplistic about that argument at all, Islamsforlosers. I think you’re right: that if our enemy was more conventional and well-armed, we’d be taking them more seriously. It is and has been the full intent of the Islamic world in the modern age to use every covert tactic and guerilla method against us though — based on the sound strategic grounds that it will absolutely keep our Western nations off-balance and from seeing the true enemy clearly. Our own governments do more damage to us than the enemy on any given day, because they refuse to present the truth to all of us.
Well, the truth is coming to get us whether we like it or not. And thus, Foehammer’s Anvil came into being — out of my own personal frustration with the powers-that-be and the idiotic press agencies that can’t report the facts because they are so hellbent on misrepresenting the aspirations of the civilized nations that they live and work in in order to further the ends of the “enlightened barbarians” that make for such good “reporting” and I use that term very loosely.
Foehammer, I don’t beat around the bush over at Jihadwatch.org when I want to say ‘Islam is the problem.’ I think jihadwatch.org adminstrators try to keep the forums clear of genocidal blanket condemnations of all those in the Islamic world. It’s not the people, it’s the ideas in their heads. It’s not racism - it’s an ideology. Sometimes posters on jihadwatch go too far and call for the heads of all muslims… that’s not good or right.
I do think that no attempt will be made to silence statements like ‘moderates may be Islamic, but Islam itself is not moderate’
Here’s what I posted on jihadwatch concerning the ex-Mossad Chief’s comments:
Further, I don’t think that anything, even global nuclear, chemical and biological atacks, will alter the mindset of either the leadership or the PC intelligentsia that seem to hold so much sway in Western countries.
In my view, nothing will make them realise that Islam itself is the problem. To them, it will forever be but a few violent misinterpreters of the religion of peace who are causing the trouble.
To do otherwise would be to destroy their own belief system.

I would agree. When the attacks come these PC people will be swept aside by others with different messages in their voices.
People seldom are honest and strong enough to admit they have been wrong and denounce their old belief systems voluntarily. Muslims, PC’ers, Communists and the Joneses next door are all the same in this aspect of human nature. Stubborness, lack of honesty and rationality and inertia all prevent people from changing their perspectives when confronted with damning evidence. Nothing new in that sad observation.
It will take a series of WMD attacks in American cities to settle this and it will take the fall of one or two Eurabian states to settle this. The sad thing is we’ll probably need both of these events. It will take a tremendous amount of jihadi wind for us to turnabout and set a new course. But, to paraphrase Dylan, ‘It doesn’t take a weatherman to know which way the wind blows.’ The question is how much wind will it take to true up our course?
It’s not going to turn out well. Those leading us today will be put into the category of the Neville Chamberlains and will swept aside by the Churchills and Pattons that will rise to the occassion. They are out there. We wonder why they haven’t arrived on the scene yet. Think about what it took to bring on the necessary conditions seventy years ago. We’re not in that place yet, but we will be soon enough.
