Ok, I’m not going to take much time to rant here, but if anyone is wondering why it’s taking so long for me to bring Anvil 2.0 online, you’re not alone — so am I!
I made a mistake: I hired a hosting company that should stick to domain names, namely the (in)famous (from Super Bowl commercials) GoDaddy.com. It has been the worst tech support I have ever had to endure. What should have been a snap to install has turned out to be a run uphill — and as I’ve found out from being forced to research the errors I’ve been receiving, it was as simple as implementing one file correctly, but now that the damage is done, and it seems that there are more problems on GoDaddy.com’s end then they are actually aware of or admitting to, they expect me to wipe all the work I just did and reconfigure and wait patiently and pray that things go right a second or third time, knowing full well if there are anymore errors in installing my site to their hosting, I will have to figure out why.
Steer clear of the Deluxe Hosting package on GoDaddy. That is my best advice.
If you want to read an eerily similar breakdown of complaints and problems with GoDaddy tech support as I have had, then read this poor webmaster’s rant right here.
GoDaddy? I’m going alright — to a new host.
Foehammer.net will be back up in a couple of days and then no more nonsense.
My apologies for the delays, but I’ve gotten my baptism by fire in the current Internet hosting world this month, and now I will take that education and put things right.
Foehammer’s Anvil will be offline for 24-72 hours, but will return. http://Foehammer.com and http://Foehammer.net will both direct you to there, so bookmark and check back.
Preferably, subscribe to my RSS feed using your favorite bookmark service (ie Bloglines).
