Much is going to weigh on who gets elected in 2008. It will be insanity if we go that long before real military force is levered against the regime in Iran, but if I was a betting man, my money would be not before 2008 for any real response from the U.S. military unless we are further provoked in an overt manner before then. Knowing what I know about the Islamist mind, I doubt that we will see any massive terrorist attacks prior to Iran producing a nuke. All the Islamic factions allied against the West know the value of that power and will do whatever they can to safeguard that production because they have never been this close before. Whether via United Nations manipulations, lies, treaties to be broke, oil brokering or Washington lobbying to throw off the scent it will be smoke and mirrors, smoke and mirrors until the Islamic bomb is in the hands of the terrorists. Failing that, a nice QUIET effort should have been made to at least capture him (although I favor zapping since it'll discourage kidnappings in order to trade for him). Nope-Bush blabs all over the place that a crackdown's coming soon so away to Iran goes the dirty dog and who knows how many other vermin.
