After watching the video I’m beginning to believe that the US made a disasterous mistake in 1990 in stopping Saddam Hussein. We would have been better off letting him take Kuwait and then Saudi Arabia because he most likely would have destroyed Wahabbism at the source. Instead, the Saudis convinced the US to be its mercenary and it saved the Wahabbis (and launched Bin Laden on the path to 9/11 and beyond) to the point that they are now spreading their poisonous doctrine throughout the world. I’m also starting to think that Iran is the lesser of two evils-its warmaking capability can probably be neutralized far easier than halting the spread of Saudi Arabia’s version of Islam. Wahabbism is making all other forms of totalitarianism look benign by comparison and is far more dangerous because it finds a cozy home in every single nation in the world. If there was some way of effecting a regime change in Riyadh that would eliminate Wahabbism I would be in favor of it. Unfortunately, I don’t see a way to do it without causing a lot of turmoil for the West. Getting off oil and cutting off oil money to politicians would be a great start.
