Presley O'Bannon and the war against the Barbary pirates was taught in some of our classes. Of course, there wasn't anything said about Muslims. The enemy was just referred as Barbary pirates. I wonder if that is the case now? I'd like to hear from some Marines in current service. What is the Marine Corp teaching about Islam, Muslim ect...? Upon his return to the states, the state of Virginia presented him with a silver-hilted sword featuring an eaglehead hilt and a curved blade modeled after the original Mameluke given him by Hamet.
