Organization plans rally & hanging of Bin Laden effigy, challenges questionable Islamic group

A prominent educational and action organization today publicly announced a challenge to CAIR, the Council on American Islamic Relations, to join them in condemnation of Islamic militancy at an upcoming rally against Islamic terrorism planned for Saturday March 31st 2007at 1:00 PM in front of CAIR�s Southern California offices at 2180 W. Crescent Ave. in Anaheim, CA. The rally is scheduled to include guest speakers, games, and giveaways, as well as a mock hanging of bin Laden.

(LOS ANGELES, CA, 03/20/2006) � The non-partisan, multi-ethnic United American Committee, a group which primarily focuses on educational outreach across the nation to promote awareness of the threat from radical Islam, is the primary organizer of the event. Although most campaigns by the UAC are of the educational nature, including book distributions, panel discussions, and other actions, a contingent of the non-profit organization holds rallies to promote awareness of various matters. This time the focus is on a questionable Islamic organization known as CAIR, the Council on American Islamic Relations.

�They claim that they are in support of America and against terrorism, well now here is an opportunity for CAIR to prove it�, remarked United American Committee member Peter James �CAIR is more than welcome to stand with us and condemn bin Laden, Hamas, Hezbollah, and other terrorists by name at this rally.� The United American Committee holds contentions that CAIR has supported radical Islam in the past with questionable actions, and also due to the fact that several members of CAIR leadership have been indicted on terror charges. Many of CAIR�s questionable actions have been greatly criticized by numerous groups, including top officials in Washington. �They use intimidation by lawsuits, they try to silence everyone who questions their actions by suing them.� UAC chairman Jesse Petrilla stated. �We won�t be intimidated by Islamists who attempt to use our laws against us.� Recently the Council has filed a lawsuit against both US Airways and passengers after the airline questioned several Imams, Islamic religious leaders, who were on a flight and acting in what was deemed by passengers to be �suspicious behavior�. The Council has also distributed literature to its members which teaches near complete non-compliance with law enforcement agencies, an action by CAIR that the UAC believes is tremendously dangerous in these times of war.

The rally on March 31st in Anaheim is one of five rallies organized by the UAC across the nation on that day in what they are calling the Rally Against Islamofascism Day. The Anaheim rally will feature guest speakers, games, giveaways, and a mock hanging of bin Laden. Muslims and non Muslims alike are slated to attend the rally in condemnation of bin Laden, and in condemnation of specific terror groups who have been responsible for numerous atrocities against both U.S. and allied targets. The UAC welcomes groups and individuals of all ethnic and religious backgrounds to attend. The rally will be held on Saturday, March 31st at 1:00 PM in front of 2180 W. Crescent Ave. Anaheim, CA.
