As this report goes so well with my posting from last night, read what Tehran has to say about ‘300′:
March 14, 2007 – Iran has condemned the new Hollywood film “300,” saying its portrayal of a 2,500-year-old battle is an aspect of “cultural and psychological warfare” against Iran.
The comments by government spokesman Gholam Hossein Elham are the latest condemnation of the film in Tehran, where officials have called it insulting to Iranians.
A group of members of parliament have urged Foreign Minister Manuchehr Mottaki and Culture and Islamic Guidance Minister Mohammad Hossein Saffar-Harandi to ask other Muslim countries not to show the “anti-Iranian” movie.
The film tells the story of the battle of Thermopylae, in which 300 Spartan warriors led by King Leonidas heroically fought off a massive Persian army attack.
The film depicts the Persian army as ruthless but repeatedly outsmarted by the Greeks, who are only defeated in the end by treachery.
I find it quite amusing that the Iranian government that has striven so hard to reduce the rights of Persians under Sharia Law, is now professing suddenly to be Persia again. I’m even more amused though, that the Mullahs of Iran do not seem to recognize that ‘300′ is actually condemning Islamic barbarism in its subtext and not Persia. But then, what should I expect of Islamic clergy and jihadist theocracies? Certainly we won’t be reading much religious, psychological or historical insight from a region that is best known for exporting terror and Islamofascism, as well as squashing Iranian free-bloggers and their efforts at communicating democratic ideas to the true and thirsty Persian people.

Free bloggers whom you mentioned were the first ones who condemned the movie & spread the word among Iranians. without them I’ve doubt Ahmadinejad would’ve known of a movie called “300″.
Here’s just a list of Persian bloggers (almost all of them against Ahmadinejad, & even some of them Anti-regime) who linked to this site they made to protest against the movie;

I understand why Iranians will be offended by ‘300′ — National Pride. It’s a natural reaction. However, the movie is not made for Persians — it is for Westerners and the subtext is intent on reminding Western people why we are free and how we remain free. The reality behind the story that is ‘300′ is historical fact, albeit blown up into an over-the-top blood spectacle for the screen. Sure, some things will offend some people. That’s the nature of real art. If there wasn’t a message worth taking away from the movie, then the movie wouldn’t truly be worth the 70 million it made in one weekend, but the fact is, the movie is worth that and much more.
Islam and the West are at war.
I have known and worked with Iranians. I know the heart of the true Persian enough to understand that you want true freedom and that most of you want to be rid of the shackles of your Muslim oppressors. I fully support that sentiment and hope Persia reinvents itself and tosses off the Islamists.
Do not be offended by ‘300′ — it is the canvas for the message that was important when it came to the Battle of Thermopylae, and if the badguys don’t happen to be Americans or Nazis for a change, then this is probably why it is so ultimately shocking to some — but the ones that should be crying the most are the Islamists who the movie squarely frames despite the fact that it is historically set centuries before the birth of Muhammad.
Slavery, disrespect for women, pagan dogma, imperial ambitions — these are all vilified in ‘300′ and they are all found within the domain of Sharia Law. It is no coincidence.
This is true history but they make Iranian King such as African and he surgery his head and he is like evil.If you check his picture in engraving on wall you will find a flower in his hands. He command to people arround to have flowers everyday in their hands because it brings peace for people. One of the other things he is only person give chance to women to be manager of group of man. When you review past you will find very sophesticated person with sophesticated ideas.
the logistics needed for a 180000 person Persian army is noticeable and the idea to make bridge from ships.
the next point is that yes we don’t likt to see our country under Mullahs but it could not be a reason for you to change history. I recommend you vol 29 americana encyclopedia.
it is good to know that one of iranian commanders in that battle was woman.
and at last I can remembers english americans in Alghaeda but I don’t remember any Iranian name that is prooved to be terrorist in Alghaeda.
as you can read in above ref. Iranian will not start any battle but also will not end it up in loose.
