Yes, I finally produced a full .avi video conversion (meeting my quality expectations) of my Flash video ‘Refuting Islam - Part 1′ and uploaded it to YouTube this morning. Let the games begin.
Since YouTube puts a 10 minute limit on videos, I was forced to split ‘Refuting’ into 2 parts. I will hopefully remember this before I create Part 2!
YouTube description:
First of a planned multi-part examination of Quranic texts, the Hadith and other Islamic works, with the absolute intent of proving that Islam is a cult and not a religion, and a source of bigotry, hatred, violent rhetoric and terror.
This marks a first for me in this ideological conflict, and I’m now going to go treat myself to some pizza and beer to celebrate the occasion and the culmination of some very hard work. Leave comments if you please.
Thank you.
The second half of the video on YouTube may be viewed here.
The original full Flash version (much higher quality) is available here.

Hello FoeHammer,
I’m your first viewer @ YouTube. Good work! I like the music choice and the sound effects definitely ad. The prop graphics work well.
I only have a couple suggestions on presentation:
- Make sure to remember your “safe area” margins. Placing text right to the edge makes for much more difficult reading. It’s a distraction.
- The size of the copy, particularly in the pop-ups, makes for diffcult reading. This could partly be due to your compression settings, in exporting from Flash.
- I kept wanting to click on the underlined verse reference. It’s red, and it’s underlined, neither of which helps I think. What the verse says is more important than where it comes from. If people are interested, don’t worry, they’ll look down there and see it. I’d suggest a gray color and nix the underline. Bold is fine.
- For branding I would place your url next to your logo at the bottom left, and leave it there the whole time. Also, in an off-white. like 75% white.
- Some of the cuts could have been quicker, particularly after the verse, and after a pop-up - the bubble/comment elements fade leaving the verse still there - so maybe sync all elements with a fade-to-black. This is easily done in Flash by simply placing a fade-to-black movie in a top layer. It’s also reusable.
- Well, none more that I can think of. Good work! I’ll leave the content suggestions to others. I couldn’t find anything to change as your knowledge on this subject far surpasses mine.
Take Care!
Just saw that you composed (& performed/sequenced?) the soundtrack. Bravo! Excellent.
Very nice video. My only suggestion would be to divide it into topics segregated by themes, such as “People of the book - Summary of Islamic treatment”, “Women”, “Warfare”, etc. That way, the viewer comes away with an organized overview of Islamic intolerance and aggression.
At some point, you may want to include samples from historical data or news stories, such as the Armenian massacre, or the recent 90 lashes to the woman who was gang-banged in Saudi Arabia.
Foehammer - kudos to your important work.
You’re doing some good in this world.
Marvellous! I couldn’t see this on your site but it played fine via YouTube. A nice, easy to understand presentation with great comments which disprove Satan Khomeini’s baloney about Islam not being humorous. Keep on sticking needles in the eyes of the Infidelophobes!
Have viewed Part 1, and will view Part 2 tomorrow. Fantastic work, thank you for doing it. The music is gorgeous as well.
Thanks for all these kind remarks and suggestions. This feedback will help me improve my work.
Please continue to spread the videos as you see fit.
Foehammer
Nicely done, and great soundtrack, captions and highlighting. Only nitpick - I would have substituted ‘Allah’ for ‘God’ everywhere, so that nobody reads any of the vague references to God as a universal deity (that might even be common to the God of Judeo-Christians), but instead recognizes Muhammad’s sock puppet in the original.
Other than that, great work. Look forward to more.
Nice work Foehammer
Just one suggestion, some of the text is a little small, especially the comment bubbles. Other than that a nice piece of work.
I like the new look to the site as well, keep up the fight.
km
Hammer have you uploaded this to liveleak.com?
@patriot8: No, but I’ll check it out. Thanks.
@km: the font sizes are all the most recommended standard sizes and most legible font types — however, YouTube does a horrible job of compressing video, so what is so ultra clear in my originals — even my own avi taken from the Flash — gets much harder to read.
I’m not sure if there will be any way to control this. I might consider doing voice-overs in future videos in addition to the text.
I only viewed part 1 and i liked it. I liked the quotations as i found absolutely nothing wrong with them. They are the truth. Your comments however are bit too simplistic and narrow-minded and lacking deeper understanding (No disrespect at all). You have completetly misinterpereted the few ayat( or setences out of 6234). For exmaple; the quaran is God’s words, he is speaking in first person and not Muhammad. So “OUR” refere to GOD. It’s the “Royal WE” ; you know like when the British Queen says it to emphasise power.
Yes, the muslims prefer the Christians and the Jews over other people. I’m sure you have your own preferences as well. I mean whether you prefer Americans/ British to let’s say Iraqis. I would understand that. You have more values and principles in common with them.
Q2: 191-192: Absolutly nothing wrong with it. As the quote explicilty says if someone hurts you hurt him back .It’s called self defence. A tooth for a tooth and an eye for an eye. Islam allows people to defend themselves. It doen’t allow people to walk over you and that’s my kind of religion.
And the verse about the 2 women one male witness. You completetly misquoted that. If placed back in context in the quran, you will see that it is only refers to financial matters. Since in most part of the world (we are not just talking about the West), the husband is the bread winner in the family so they may know more about the monatry field than women. In all other cases (apart from murder) one woman wintness is equal to male witness.I mean, if you want advice from a a heart speclialist but can’t find one it makes more sense that you ask 2 or general practioners instead, wouldn’t you agree.
In islam women and male are equal spiritiually, (they get rewarded the same amount by god). Did you know you are suppose to love you mother more than your father and that it is staeted that Paradise lies underneath your mother’s feet? Women and male are physiologically different so they occupy different but equally important roles in society. If you research other religions and religious scriptures, i promise that islam has the hightest position for women. Read the bible and investigate Hinduism too. Research further and you will find intances where 2 men witnesses are equal to one woman witness!! Quite a shock!!
Personally, i think doubt in the heart is a disease. i like having peace of mind so i stick to what’s clear to me. By the way i am a lady and i totally love islam. Did you no 60% or more converts to islam are women. Nearlly all the converts i know (quite a lot) are women.
I think you are doing great job though, at least you bother to read the quran. Most people don’t even muslims. i encourage you to keep posting your presentations. YOu know they make people think about islam. Works like this is what’s turning people to islam. You tell them something, they decide to research further (the great thing about the Western) they find the truth and become muslims. I guess it’s true that there is no such thing as bad publicity.
@Tash: You said I was perhaps “overly simplistic” in my statements at times. Quite intentional. There is nothing complicated about the truth.
If there is actually any word from God in the Qur’an, it is only by way of plagiarism from texts of the Bible, and certainly not due to Muhammad having spoken to any Divine Entity.
Your observations and interpretations are far too literal and seem to lack an understanding of the implications that I was deriving from each of the quotations that I decided to comment upon. But then again, if one were to actually take a zealous stand that the words in the Qur’an are actually something worth worshiping, I could see how one might take that stance.
When you talk about the place of women in Islam being higher than other religions, I scoff. The thing you fail to say is that of all the religions (and I am only using that term with regard to Islam right now to be polite), Islam is the only one that is actually a theocratic ideology — it is political. That is why Islam dominates the political establishment whenever it is a standard of the popular majority. If it does not, that is only by way of some threat, typically military (i.e. Pakistan, Turkey), but even there the political power of the Sharia/Islamic establishment is undeniable. Therefore your claim is absolutely misleading and ridiculous — women’s rights are trod upon in the Islamic world worse than any other in modern times. That is a point of fact that can not be refuted.
Furthermore, when Islam enters a Reformation, let us know.
If anyone turns to Islam after actually watching my videos, or after investigating the religion based on all the available materials and links I provide here at the Anvil, then I have only succeeded in softening up the enemy with one more low-brow.
Thanks for commenting.
anvil,
i would just like to take the opportunity to clarify something, u said:
‘women’s rights are trod upon in the Islamic world worse than any other in modern times.’
1-there is no current islamic world. the muslims of the world do not classify any government of any muslim country as an Islamic State. There is not one that is leading according to Islam teachings from the Quran and Sunna. we are without an Islamic State in the world today.
2-it would be more correct to perhaps call it the Muslim world. Islam is perfect, muslims r human and therefore are not.
3-women r downtrodden in many muslim lands, this is true, but this is not Islam this is cultural. this is becuz of people not learning their religion therefore not knowing what their rights r and once again letting men strip them of their rights. i find it strange that people actually think that so many of us would convert to a belief system that would strip us of our rights. i certainly wouldnt and did not. i have had none of my rights taken away, nor am i down trodden, in fact Islam has liberated me. i seem to remember that years ago christians (no disrespect) used to wonder if women had a soul, this has never been a question in Islam.
thank u for the opportunity to comment.
shades of colours
@shadesofcolours:
1) Islam itself is a political ideology. Iran and Saudi Arabia are both dominated by Islamic/Sharia Law and even secular governments in Turkey and Pakistan are in danger of toppling to the Islamic Jihadists.
The news is overflowing with evidence of all of this every week.
2) Muslims cannot be anymore perfect than anyone else since they are just as human. Islam itself is an utter falsehood, so you might truly believe what you say, but the vast majority of humanity once believed the Sun was the center of the Universe and the Earth was flat, too.
3) There is no description of Paradise for women in your Qur’an. It is made clear over and over that men are superior to women also according to “Allah.” Again, you may wish to not believe that Islam itself belittles the female and expects you to submit to your men, but if you lived in a region that was more fully dominated by Arab Muslims in Saudi Arabia or Syria or the jihadi Pakistanis or Iranians, you would certainly find out the hard way that there is very little wiggle room for a woman should she get ‘out of line’ in the male-dominated Islamic world.
If you’re seeking reality, don’t dig up the past in Christianity. Christians have come a long, long way and Civil Rights are part of what I fight to save here. If Islam ever succeeds in toppling Western liberalism, the world can say good-bye to equality of the sexes.
