Coke fizzing mad over religious film which depicts Jesus drinking a Coke:
Coca-Cola is up in arms over an Italian film that shows Jesus Christ drinking from one of its cans.
The drinks giant is threatening to sue unless the offending scene is taken out.
In Seven Kilometres from Jerusalem, a modern-day Christ hitches a lift to Jerusalem with the movie’s main character Allesandro Forte, an Italian advertising executive.
During their drive together, Christ, played by Alessandro Etrusco, is offered a Coke, which he drinks with relish.
Director Claudio Malaponti insists the film is ‘profoundly religious’ and cited the Pope as a fan.
He told The Times that the Pope had not found the Coke scene offensive and had expressed hopes that the movie would ‘increase love for Jesus and awareness of the richness of his message’.
But a Coke spokewoman said the company was ‘not interested in this kind of product placement’.
Well, since nobody is suicidal enough to even film Muhammad for fear of Islamic jihad reprisals, I’m forced to present the following image for condemnation from both Coca-Cola and Islamists alike.
Have a jihad and a smile!

Now the question is: who should I fear more — Islamic jihadists or the lawyers at the giant corporation Coca-Cola?
And just for reference and a reminder to Coca-Cola that they may have a problem with Jesus drinking their sodas, but no problem with Santa Claus.

So, how deep does the hypocrisy go? Or is it the very image that I just published that you’re really afraid of seeing one day in a movie or in a magazine or on a wall or billboard, and if so, why?
Of course, my questions are somewhat rhetorical.
Happy Easter.

hmmmm - I wonder if that IS coke in Mo’s glass? Looks somewhat dark, say, like a merlot or some such, to me, in which case he does look rather jolly! But then why not? It seems to me Coca-Cola might be Satanic, or some such, like maybe some of his pre-pubescent brides….wudda’ya think, Readers?
Couldn’t be wine since alcohol was forbidden by Muhammad. And I like a cold Coke myself, but I just don’t like Coke taking potshots at Jesus Christ when they see fit to use Christmas as a means to sell more syrup every single year. I suppose if it’s polar bears or Santa Claus, it’s ok, but a truly peaceful prophet and/or the son of God is out of the question. My, my, we might offend some Muslims and not sell as many cases to the Middle East.
Btw, that Arabic on the glass is authentic.
Hang on… are you saying that their real reason for objecting to a film depicting Jesus drinking Coke is that they don’t want to offend Islam?
And there’s something hypocritical about using Santa in other advertising?
Jesus dude…
I’m amazed you even continue to interpret what I’m implying since you have no idea what Islam is.
Do I honestly have to spell out what this entire article should so clearly illustrate, or do you still live in a bubble where Muslims do not murder people in the name of Islam for offending their “Prophet”?
I swear there are days when I can’t even believe I am half Irish.
Please, spell it out. Your post isn’t very clear.
Like, whenever you get a chance.
Anytime you like, dude.
Hey, what’s the deal with the sunglasses on Mohammed?
If you put a cigarette on the end of a long cigarette holder in his mouth, he’d look a bit like Hunter S. Thompson.
C’mon dude. What’s this post supposed to be saying? What point are you trying to make?
Oh, the hypocrisy goes very deep. Because Coca Cola wants to continue selling in the Middle East and other islamic countries.
Money is all that counts..for them.
