Sometimes people wonder what the fundamental difference is between most anti-jihad sites and the Anvil. Well, an article from Jihad Watch this morning has a response from Robert Spencer that I can use to illustrate a couple of quick but important points.
I have never said, and will never say, that any view of Islam is correct or incorrect. That is because there is no central authority in Islam that can decide such matters. I do say, and have said many times, that jihadists recruit by presenting their version of Islam as pure, true, and correct Islam, and that this view is buttressed by passages from the Qur’an and Sunnah as they have been understood by mainstream Islamic commentators, and by all the schools of Islamic jurisprudence, which all teach warfare against unbelievers — as well as by the fact that peaceful Muslims have never formulated any effective theological/juridical response to any of this. Thus the only possible avenue for Islamic reform, against which are prohibitive odds, would be a rejection of Qur’anic literalism, and literalism in regard to Muhammad’s words and example.
While being “nice” about the subject of Islam might make us friends, it will not defeat our enemies.
Islam is a cult. The Mormons are a cult. The big difference? Islam has Muhammad as its center, and the Mormons have Jesus Christ.
I can tolerate Mormonism. I can not tolerate Islam.
I might vote for a Mitt Romney. I would never vote for a Barrack Obama. Guilty by association in varying degrees.

I might offend some people along the way, but I’m doing it for your own good (and mine). And I try damn hard to be consistent in my reasoning in order to have clarity on my side at all times.
I can be your friend, but it’s much more important that I frighten and enlighten our enemies.

We are comrades against an enemy that requires truthful, honest, and thorough scrutiny bringing to light the truthful, honest, and objective goal of this insidious ideology founded by a mass murdering, thieving, slave trader, and rapist. The despicable character that is m0hammad needs to be exposed, the inhumane sharia law needs serious examination, the concept of jihad in a supposed religion of peace needs clarification, the inherent racism and Arab imperialism associated with it needs to be exposed, and the suppression and denial of equality for women is an utter disgrace. #%$& islam!

I agree 100%. If I had a dollar for every Mormon who threatened me I would be broke. By comparison if I had a dollar for each threat made by the followers of the religion of peace I would soon have a new truck.

I agree that the only way to deal with anything as oppressive and militant as radical Islam is by using the HARD CORE truth. Unfortunately the Politically Correct Police subvert our efforts as often as not. As previously stated, I have tried to place relatively mild comments - backed up with facts - against radical Islam and the Muslim takeover of the UK - only to have them repeatedly censored or never printed by web sites of the online Daily Mail & the Daily Express, etc.
I find it very odd that the British mosques are full of Imams who spout hatred and violence towards the British people & Western civilisation - with the police rarely intervening due to the SAME political correctness except that it is enabling the Imams versus disabling me from posting legitimate concerns.
I have yet to have anyone answer the question as to why the British government and British law enforcement are so blatantly complicit in protecting ALL muslims. One wonders if Saudi monies have found their way into greedy pockets OR is it that these leaders are so soft headed and so inculcated by the ridiculous ideology of multiculturalism that they are like hard core addicts to their drug of choice - and their choice is to sacrifice the British people,heritage and culture on the altar of multiculturalism.
