Acting against the advice of North Carolina’s Attorney General - with staff attorney Valerie Batemen stating, “The main complaint of the ACLU and the plaintiff is a political one, not a legal one” - Wake County Superior Court judge Paul Ridgeway today decided that the Quran may be used during the swearing in process for witnesses.
The ACLU joined in the suit with the Council on American-Islamic Relations [CAIR, the Saudi funded Hamas front group]. CAIR has been actively working towards the recognition of Sharia [Islamic religious law] as part of its policy of cultural jihad.
Previous to today’s decision, state law allowed for three options for those being sworn in; laying a hand over the Bible and stating “I do,” simply declaring “so help me God” without the use of the Bible or by affirming to tell the truth without using a religious symbol.
One of the implications of the ruling will be for the state to be required to purchase and distribute not only Qurans but other religious texts such as the Hindu Bhagavad-Gita.
The controversy originated when CAIR joined with the ACLU in demanding that the Quran be allowed in North Carolina court proceedings, the director of the state’s courts refused to allow that stating that the matter should be settled legislatively or in a formal judicial process.
A judge initially dismissed the ACLU’s lawsuit in 2005, but that decision was overturned on appeal.
Perhaps I should start calling it the ‘Islamic Landslide’ instead? Things are moving much faster than even I anticipated.

When I hear of lawmakers deciding to make Islam part of our legal system, I have to be honest — it makes me think very hard about where I want to be in twenty years — when the civil war in this country starts. Some things I just won’t tolerate.
The Koran is a book of death and deceit. Unless something big happens, the loons will drive us to complete destruction. This is why some homegrown Islam terrorist attacks are probably what is needed to get this country off the pot. I hate to think of it, but what else will it take? Too many are too stupid.
Once again the unholy alliance of Leftists and Islamniacs triumphs.
CAIR and the ACLU both need to be banned as organizations that destroy American values. They are about as subversive as the Communist party was in the 1930’s through the 1950’s.
Since I got involved with posting on ‘blogs (after the cartoon fiasco), I have definitely noticed an increase in activity.
