In case anyone missed this one (hat-tip: Sheila), here’s a report from the Tennessean:
Muslim contract employees at the Dell Inc. plant in Nashville reached a settlement with the company on issues related to a dispute over prayer in the workplace, a national Islamic civil rights advocacy group announced yesterday in Washington.
The Council on American-Islamic Relations said the 31 Muslim employees, who left work last month in a disagreement over Islamic prayers, will be reinstated, receive back pay, and be granted religious accommodation. Managers also will also receive additional training on existing religious accommodation policies and practices.
Other terms of the settlement were not disclosed.
The settlement came following a meeting yesterday between representatives of the council, Dell, the Muslim workers, the Metro Human Relations Commission and Spherion Corp., the company that provided the workers to Dell.
”We are pleased with both the terms of the settlement and with the cooperative attitude of all parties in the negotiations,” CAIR Executive Director Nihad Awad said. ”We thank everyone from around the world who contacted Dell to express their support for reasonable religious accommodation in the workplace.”
Most of the affected employees are from Somalia.
Abdirizak Hassan, executive director of the Somali Community Center of Nashville, said the workers walked out of the company’s Nashville plant last month because they were not allowed time for prayers.
CAIR showing its ugly face again. And so the appeasement continues….

If I and my co-workers asked for a small space with a Cross in it to pray at work, what do you all think the answer would be? And if I and my co-workers went home in protest, would we still have jobs? Absolutely not. Why? Because we are not the “minority”. Historically our religion has been separate and private from state and from the workplace. Historically we have days off to worship as we see fit. Not Muslims, they have to bring religion to work and into the public domain. That’s the trendy & dangerous change in philosophy that will continue its strangle on the west, a small squeeze at a time until we are choked out. Our traditions and rights are being “traded” for the sake of “others” instead of the “others” wanting to blend in with the majority of society. We know with Islam, the small amount of giving will not stop there. That’s not what Islam will settle for. We are losing OUR identity as each year goes by. Our willingness to give away our system of values and way of living that took hundreds of years to build and to die for is unbelievable.
As for Dell, the facilitators of submission, here’s one non-dhimmi who will NOT buy anything from them, ever.
I will never buy a DELL product. My mother is shopping for a computer so I just emailed her this article. I am sickened by this. We have to educate our friends and family as to what is happening to our country. We are being highjacked by “the religion of peace” yet again.
I agree completely. What most do not realize is that a butcher’s bill on American soil is going to have to be paid before this struggle is over. Read history! At the heart of the Koran is the mandate to kill - whom does not matter, just this requirement is sufficient to discredit Islam. At the heart of the Bible is the admonition to love one another and forgive sins. In other words, Christians serve a God of love. These differences are at the core of the two belief systems. These two points of view are irreconcilable. I am not for the shedding of blood, but given the unchanging nature of humanity it is inevitable. Most Americans ignore this historical fact - it is politically distasteful. I don’t ignore this fact and neither does Foehammer. At heart Foehammer is trying to warn of this, and through this small comment so am I. All who read here, I presume, want to avoid this. We can not. We must face it head on as is done here.
Your reactions make me consider creating a Boycott Dell website button to pass around.
Nothing gets a corporation’s attention more than disgruntled Muslims more than disgruntled consumers.
The State Department keeps letting moon god worshippers into the country. The State Department needs to be brought up on charges of undermining these United States.
I will NEVER buy Dell or Dell products again. I will inform my friends.

Foehammer,
Some one sent me that link as well. Doesn’t the date on the top of the link page signify this happened in 2005?
Regards,
awake
I suppose it might be from 2005, but it was news to me, and I know it was news to most people here. Look how much of this goes on an we barely hear a word about it, and oftentimes even years go by without so much as a MSM sound-byte about things that should concern us all, but the MSM will spend weeks on Anna Nicole’s death.
News to me…
New slogan:
“Dude, you’re getting a dhimmi!”
I wonder if the powers that be in North Carolina when they bent over backwards to get Dell to build a plant in Winston-Salem. Sounder is right I wonder if a strongly Christian work force would be granted a a small room with a cross to pray?
