Here’s an excerpt from an article that was brought to my attention this morning (hat-tip: Terp Mole) from the University of Michigan’s Michigan Daily:
When we fight a war to eliminate an Islamic fundamentalist insurgency, while we claim to not be waging a war on Islam, naturally some people are confused. We ascribed political meaning to the term, and that has consequences.
We must learn to refer to a terrorist as a terrorist and nothing more. As President Bush repeatedly preaches, Islam is a religion of peace. We must cease equating terrorists with members of a peaceful religion, unless we truly want to cause a tenth crusade.
Mike Eber is an LSA senior and a member of the Daily’s editorial board.
I made no attempt to be polite in my reply:
You’re a blind fool, Mr. Eber, preaching to those that still have not taken the time to learn the realities behind this war.
I challenge you to come to my blog and utilize the resources there, as well as my links, and if you still want to continue down the misguided path of believing that we aren’t in a war with Islamists, then I will have to assume that you have found stronger stuff to put into your pipe.
BTW, your article was brought to my attention by one of my readers. Common Sense is not dead in America, despite the efforts of so many in Academia

After six years people still refer to Islam as both a religion and peaceful. Inexcusable-the Koran should be required reading in all high schools to acquaint people with all that “peace”. Maybe then some progress can be made regarding the fight against Islamania.
