A Triumph of Western Culture: Paul Potts

This isn’t about jihad. This isn’t about Islam. This is a break from all that. Talent like this deserves attention on a grand scale. God-given talent.

This is Paul Potts singing “Nessun Dorma” on UK talent show “Britain’s got Talent”, featuring Simon Cowell as a judge. Just look at how stunned the judges are when he begins to sing. I do think that actress Amanda Holden gets a tad flushed, too. What do you think? *chuckles*

Bravo, Paul!

This is an excellent clip. Is it something about the Welsh? They have produced so many great singers.

Shirley Bassey, Charlotte Church,Tom Jones and Bryn Terfel, to name but a few.

Hope this guy goes a long way - he deserves it!

He has the pipes. If he’s going to go for an opera career, there’s more to it, but it’s very possible he has what it takes. I’d have to hear more of him to be sure.

How much better would the world be if this sort of thing were encouraged in muslim communities instead of a false “Mickey Mouse”, and learning to hate?

Absolutely wonderful. I needed these voices today to counter the evil I see far too much of. Thank you.

Glad you liked it, FH :)

I had decided to have a “music day” today, listening to “you know who”,lol! (And other favourites).

Oh well, there is always something happening. I think one needs “time out” to keep their sanity so I think it was a good idea on your part to post such a pleasant distraction.

@David: His following is building fast. I’m looking forward to hearing more of Paul, so I can best judge what kind of future he has in the music/opera world. Thanks for that link.

While watching FoxNews TV on some show or another, a break was taken during which this introduction to the formerly unknown [to me, at least] Paul Potts was shown, and immediately I realized in this unassuming young man lived an incredibly enormous gift for the world! He is blessedly as yet unspoiled by the rigors of “traditional operatic arts” and may he remain so as he continues to stun the world with his innate greatness.

Thank you, Foehammer, for recognizing him for his uniqueness. The Gold Standard of operatic tenors used to be Enzio Pinza, but Paul Potts exceeds anything Maestro Pinza was capable of bringing to this art form I love so dearly.

It is really amazing what God creates !! Paul Potts is an angel among peoples, what a heavenly voice.
My best regards and congratulations to you, Paul Potts, from me and my family here in Belgium.
