I’m sorry, but I just can’t stand it. I didn’t want to blog about the President’s speech in a mosque yesterday; it simply makes me too furious. But I couldn’t just let the event go completely without comment.
For the record, I have lost all faith in President George W. Bush. I’ve tried very hard for several years now to believe that the President was just sly, that he really understands the threat and the ’score’, but not after yesterday.

The danger signals sent by yesterday’s appeasing speech to members of Wahhabi/Saudi front-groups like CAIR and other prominent American Muslim groups that were present in the mosque are many.
First and foremost, the chances of an attack upon Iran’s nuclear facilities by American forces while Bush is in office — almost zero. I’d like to think that he’s “that smart”, and that this is all a very clever ruse to throw off our enemies from any possible timetable for attacks, but I’m done with the “wishful thinking”.
Secondly, George W.’s speech goes the opposite direction from marginalizing Islam in the United States. His appearance in that mosque bolsters all Muslims and makes our U.S. leadership look weak and groveling. This is fundamentally against everything that I stand for here at the Anvil, where I have repeatedly called for the outlawing of Islam from our shores.
Yes, I understand my sentiment is just short of madness in the view of most, but after today, the true madness must be obvious.
Who are we at war with? How does a ‘tiny minority of Islamic extremists’ exist if the very same people that make this claim (i.e. Sean Hannity, George W. Bush, etc.) also tell us that we will be entrenched in a “protracted war” that will “last generations”, “50-60 years” and the like? What kind of idiocy is this?! Or is it much worse? Are the Saudis putting words into the mouths of talking-heads on television and even in the White House? We all have to wonder today.

If we follow the strategy of the Bush Administration and even the advice of people like Ron Paul, we end up with the same endgame: we let Islam in the United States grow unfettered. The most dire threat to the United States isn’t even nuclear terror — the most dire threat is that our enemies use the shadow of Islamic terrorism to squelch our motivation to speak out, thereby crushing our Free Speech and our Free Will at the same time! It’s ideological thuggery and it’s carried out in the building of more mosques, the altering of history text books, the distribution of ‘doctored’ Korans to infidels, the marrying of our women, the indoctrination of our kids and the buying of our businesses, our land and our elected officials.
The Bush family is obviously blinded by their decades old friendship with certain Saudis. And I’m not saying all those Saudis are even our enemies, but this relationship veils the ones that are, and that’s the point. The Bush family is misguided, that much is for sure, and at the worst, they are bought and paid for. I wish I knew for sure what the depth of this depravity is, but it’s too late to go back and change things now anyway, so we must simply look forward to 2008.
There’s much more being said on this matter and I truly cannot continue this morning, so I’ll point you towards other opinions:

You had it right the first time.
