I’ve been on the Truth Laid Bear ecosystem for awhile now, and I saw some very nice leaps in my rankings a couple of weeks ago, but I was not at all prepared for the leap the Anvil just took today.
+96% in one week!
The Anvil is ranked #1872 out of over 100,000 blogs! That categorizes the site in the 5th tier (Marauding Marsupials) out of 16 total levels.
To put this in perspective, MichelleMalkin.com is #1, Littlegreenfootballs.com is #4, and JihadWatch.org is #14.
There are almost 300 bloggers linking to the Anvil! All this since I went pro in January of this year. I really am at a loss for words, so let me just say that I am very thankful to everyone for the tremendous support. Obviously my fellow bloggers wouldn’t link me if I was writing garbage (I don’t have the money to bribe people), so I have the blogosphere and you, gentle readers, to thank for this continued surge in the traffic and popularity of the Anvil.
Now you’ve got me ready to jump into the top 3 tiers! Call me greedy.
I’ll start eating more Wheaties.

Great Foehammer! Personally I’d like to see you run for President!
Wow. Well, thanks, but that’s going to take Wheaties and some cases of Red Bull.
Congratulations FH!!
I wish I was more net-savvy, and could do more.
You have done really well
I am proud of you!
That’s wonderful news, Foehammer! I’ve been a long time fan of Michelle Malkin and LGF, and continue to be a big fan of these sites, but I find myself drawn more and more to your blog (even though it seems to take twice as long to load as others and often shuts down for no apparent reason?)
Keep up the great work. You deserve this success…and much, much more.
Keep up the good work Foehammer! Not many would invest so much into what they believe.
Simone: Switch to Firefox and this site works great.
Thanks all. I guess all I can promise is to continue following my heart and mind. That’s been it the entire time, and if that meets with success or failure, so be it.
@Simone: Site shuts down? Hmm. Well, let’s hope that doesn’t happen anymore. I worked very hard last week to decrease load times and increase performance and compatibility for the Anvil.
One thing to consider is this — I offer far, far more as far as content goes on this site than most blogs. The Multimedia, rotating polls, and a contextual ad scheme for instance.
Now, as far as all of this goes, it can do nothing but get faster — if I meet a level of success where I an afford a private server instead of a shared one (that’s the biggest reason the site ever has problems), then you’ll see this page load in 3-6 seconds instead of 26. Obviously though, much of it has to do with the individual users connection and what web browsers they use.
If people are using anything other than MSIE 7 or Firefox 2, there may be problems. If people have dialup instead of DSL or cable, slow loading is simply a reality of life (and if anyone is still on dialup today, I just don’t know what to say — prices are too reasonable for faster connection speeds to even excuse that any longer and it’s more than worth the cost. I could live without cable television, but not without my cable internet!), and as for computer system performance — I run my entire site and do all my work on a computer that is 7 years old. That’s right SEVEN. So, there’s no excuse for anyone in that department either. New computers are CHEAP today. Even laptops. And they’ll all be faster than what I use, guaranteed.
All that said, please, please, please, anyone that reads the Anvil and runs into problems, consider posting them in the Support section of my forums, so that we may all benefit from solutions found and I can be made aware of goof-ups that are my fault — and those are many.
You more than deserve it with the valuable information you provide.
