[Note: I originally wrote the following article on June 5, 2006, but in light of the fact that it was read by only a handful of visitors and being quite applicable to the mood surrounding the recent ‘Jihad Doctors’ attack in the UK, I’m resurrecting it.]
The words of a Muslim in Canada gave me a terribly simple and effective idea this morning. First the quote:
The charges allege that the men knowingly participated in a terrorist group and either received or provided terrorist training in Toronto, nearby Mississauga, Fort Erie — a border town across from Buffalo, N.Y. — and Ramara Township, located on the shores of Lake Simcoe in central Ontario’s cottage country.
A federal official said he expects some serious reflection in government and security circles about how young people raised in Canada could allegedly conspire to commit such crimes.
“Most of them went through the school system here. They’re not just off the plane. So there will be some questioning going on,” the official said.
“The big issue is going to be societal, that’s clear.”…
Farhad Oryakhim, 17, an employee at an east-end shop, said he’s concerned about how Muslims in Canada are going to be treated in the wake of the arrests.
“It’s going to be a pretty hard time now,” Oryakhim said. “After this incident, people are going to look at the Muslims from a dangerous view.”
Oryakhim said he fears that non-Muslim customers will stop patronizing businesses in the area that are run by Muslims.
“It’s going to hurt our businesses,” he said. “Our life.”
Farhad has some idea of what the future holds.
And he has unwittingly given us the solution to the Muslim presence in our neighborhoods and schools and businesses: boycott them.
Simple and effective. Every single one of us can do it. Just refuse to patronize any establishment that is run or owned by Muslims, from gas stations to convenience stores, dry cleaners to restaurants to specialty grocery stores and the like. You know the signs to look for by now and most people are intelligent enough to differentiate between a peaceful Hindu and a Muslim. But, if you need a clue, just look for the women. If you can’t find any or the ones that you do find are veiled or hooded, well, then you’re probably dealing with Muslims. There’s an even easier way to know for sure though — and that’s just locate your local mosques and remember a few faces.
Prejudice in action? Of course. But have we not been given not only a right but an obligation to exercise such prejudice when it is in the interests of our future and our safety and the sanctity of our nations? It’s either this or violence. So, what choice have we been given?
We all have a basic right to decide where we put our money, and if we collectively refuse to give any of it to the Muslim community then that community will eventually cease to exist OR it will be forced to reform itself and assimilate to our societies. So, here is the perfect chance for the so-called “moderate” Muslims to do something about their own backyards and not just give us all lip-service.
It’s either time for Muslims to change or to realize that they are no longer welcome and that they must move to greener pastures.
Boycott Islam.
ADDENDUM: Shortly after this article hit the frontpage of the Anvil, it was submitted by a reader to Digg.com, or it was “Dugg” according to standard Net vernacular. About one day later that submission was forcibly removed from Digg by the editors of that site without a word to me or a response to my subsequent complaints, the submitter’s account was banned and all capacity for Digging articles from Foehammer’s Anvil revoked. Think perhaps this story was only “buried” and not completely erradicated from Digg.com along with over 100 comments there? Search for it yourself and be sure to click Include Buried Stories option. Uh-oh!
I thought my first post got lost, so I started over. Sorry about that, everyone.
Um… Could someone tell me when an instinct for self-preservation became a character flaw, in America?
I swear, I can’t believe there are still people floating around who don’t know the definition of “Islam”! Any Muslim will be happy to tell you that Islam does, in fact, mean “submission”.
Has anyone here, slinging mud on this blog’s host in ad hominem attacks ever read the Qur’an?
If not I recommend it.
Now, don’t be afraid. Yes, it’s a poorly written, poorly organized little book, but don’t be fooled by anyone who tells you this is because it is a translation from Arabic. There’s nothing magical about the Arabic language. If there were, Arabs would never be able to learn English, or any of the other languages they’ve learned. Learning a foreign language requires translation–very simple concept.
You’ll need to turn off your television, radio, computer, etc. Some versions of the book are translated in a style that requires more concentration than is usual for a book. Settle yourself in a comfortable spot, with good reading light. Open the Noble Qur’an, and suspend your disbelief (keep an open mind).
Every time you come to something that jars your perception of reality, remember–most Muslims believe every single word of the Qur’an is true.
They bet their lives on it. They’ll happily bet your life on it. Will you?
Abscedere gave good advice in that comment. I wonder how many on the wrong side of the fence will choose to heed it.
A lot of the commentors today obviously find it reprehensible to suggest a boycott of Muslim-owned establishments and services. The justification for their self-righteous indignation seems to be that it’s just plain racist and unfair to punish all Muslims for the evils committed by their more radicalized co-religionists.
Please, any of you, point me in the direction of your blog or an organisation that you support which abhors the boycotting of Israeli good and services. Show me how you’re getting your knickers all in a twist over British academics, journalists and reporters boycotting Israel. No, you can’t? Didn’t thinks so. Hypocrites, the lot of you!
You label Foehammer as a genocidal latter-day Hitler. You clearly haven’t read any of his writings and I dare say your legs must be getting tired from the constant knee-jerking you do. The real genocidal maniacs are all in the Muslim/Arab world. They’re quite open about their plans for Israel. Do you ever direct any of your venom their way? No, you don’t? Didn’t thinks so. Paintywaist hypocrites, the lot of you!
Leftardness truly is a disease!
Foehammer, keep up the good work.
listen ive come to realize this site has little point, it just excessivly feeds my inbox with your bullshit. i wont come back here and tell you things that you clearly will never agree with. please take me off the listserv.
Ok matt, this may be an age issue. At my age, no she does not look like a man and I still think she is hot. Granted I pretty much have to settle for what I can get but even I draw a line at Rosie O. I also didn’t get your point. Do you want me to boycott China or shop at convenience stores located in suburbs?
Loaded with anarchists, ill-conceived and often utterly false comparisons to Nazi Germany, huge leaps of hypocrisy, ignorance, dripping hate and more often then not, just too many minds laced with the remnants of mushroom tea [EDIT: This link is dead now — Digg removed the entire thread related to this article and thereby KILLED the traffic this article was getting. In other words, they censored me. Now why would they do that? I will be taking Digg to task and expanding on this entire article now as a result. Congratulations, Digg.com, you’ve unleashed the mad bull.]:

Don’t miss the “thought police” in action that are trying to bury this article on Digg — interestingly though, they are losing the battle.
Which, by the way, I have also previously editorialized about:
Anarchy Microcosm
Your point matt? Do you want me to boycott China or just conveinence stores? And, I still think she is hot but you are free to boycott her if you want.
Hey, guys? You who think an instinct for self-preservation in an American is a character defect?
Read the Qur’an. Don’t be afraid. It’s a poorly organized and poorly written little book, but I think you’ll find the words of “Allah” to be very interesting.
If you’re going to fling so much muck at a fellow, on his own blog, you might want to look into the cause you are espousing. Turn off your radio. Turn off your TV, and your computer.
Find a comfortable place to sit, with good lighting, and read a little bit of the Qur’an. Suspend your disbelief, as you might when reading a work of fiction. But, remember–to Muslims, this book is not a work of fiction. This book is the heart and soul of their religion, and their idea of an ideal way to live.
When someone tells you that a translation won’t do, that you have to know Arabic in order to understand it, go ahead and get a little bit annoyed that such people think you’re too stupid to understand what you are reading, because you’re not. And don’t fall for the lie that Arabic can’t be translated to English, or any other language. You’re smarter than that.

Really? You don’t think she looks like a man?
And give me a break, as if fundamentalist islam’s financial mainstay is conveinence stores in suburban America. Many of the weapons these groups use are chinese, take a look around your house, ronin, for any products “made in china” or perhaps give saudi arabia a big salute next time you fill up the tank.
Ronin wrote:
I’d debate her, but I’d never romance her. LOL.
That is a weird fetish you have there Matt or it might just be your way of publicly admitting you are intimidated by powerful women willing to speak their own mind on important issues. To return back to the original issue of the boycott. I don’t understand why anyone here is upset by the idea. We all boycott something. We visit business we like and avoid the one we do not. It is not like Foe wants Muslims to dress in a way that clearly identifies themselves and avoid friendship with them or force them into a lessor social group. Then again, he doesn’t follow the koran. I think this issue only bothers those of you who are scared it will catch on and our friendly neighborhood muslim families will not have enough money left to buy a single bullet for the global jihad.
Oh plz, Ann Coulter looks like a man with long hair.
I think Ann Coulter is hot.
Really? A fresh mouse? I thought I slew you every time, you even quoted superman. I mean seriously, usually if you’ve won a debate you don’t have to say “I have won the debate,” its obvious. Not only that but WWII era art is the beginning of abstract expressionism while nazi germany, soviet russia and communist china are best known for heroic realism. Take a look at North Korea today if want more art that will probably suit your tastes.
