I don’t know how many of you may have known Sheila P. AKA Happypick AKA Lilolemiss, but she was one of those rare readers that pours love onto a blogger like myself and gives me that little extra steam to keep chugging along. This morning I opened an email from one of her old friends that revealed the news that Sheila has moved on to a much better place. It is with sadness that I type this news, but being part Irish myself, I know that Sheila would not wish for people to be disheartened at her passing, but simply to remember her fondly: Sheila was the kind of American lady that best exemplifies what this great country of ours, the United States, can produce.
Sheila was a nurse, a mother, a grandmother, a member of the Greatest Generation and the wife of a World War II veteran, Orville P. She was also one of the “wide-awakes” on the net, never shirking from a sense of duty and always sending me story after story that related to the current conflict with Islam. Often you may have noted me giving a hat-tip to her here when posting a story.
The last personal message I received from Sheila was a comment here on the Anvil on July 6th, apparently just 3 days before her passing. I would be lying if I tried to say this didn’t leave me humbled and quite emotional:
FoeHammer,
You have grown enormously during the past months from a very knowledgeable young guy into an incredibly astute and discriminating truly insightful analytic-minded expert in your field. It has been wonderful to watch this growth of your’s while realizing you intended to plunge ever straight ahead against any and all odds that may come your way! With those such as you, rare as they may be, this world is already a far better place. My faith is in you and your future actions - not because I happen to agree with you, but because you have already proved capable and able.
Sheila was my friend, though we’d never even met face to face.
Good journey, Sheila. You will be missed, but the world is a better place for having had your caring soul a part of it.

AMEN.
Sad. This site will be diminished a little by the loss of Sheila-I always liked her comments and she always seemed like a straight up type person. She will indeed be missed.
I am very sorry to hear of this.
Sheila’s posts were insightful and sensible.
My sincere condolences to her family.
May she rest in peace
