An Afghan newspaper, cited by the Reuters news agency, reported on July 26 that two U.S. soldiers have converted to Islam and got married in Afghanistan.
The “Hewad Daily” reported that the two soldiers are stationed at Bagram Air Base north of Kabul, the center of U.S.-led operations in Afghanistan. An unidentified U.S. military spokesman said he is working to verify the account, but added that freedom of religion is a protected right under the U.S. Constitution.
An Afghan cleric, referred to only as Hamidullah, praised the soldiers’ alleged conversion, stating that “if anybody embraces Islam…his sins committed in this world will be forgiven and Allah praises him and his family, and will bless him in the coming world too.”
If the report is confirmed, the two soldiers’ conversion to Islam will be the first such cases among U.S. soldiers since the U.S.-led invasion of Afghanistan in 2001.
Our own U.S. Constitution is being used against us; that’s what this report tells me. Instead of confronting Islam for what it is, our soldiers are being spoon-fed Islam in sugary doses, told to coddle the Muslim populations in-theater and, as a direct result, some of them are now actually turning to the very source of the terror itself for solace. Naivety with regard to Islam may yet destroy the Free World.

Something just doesn’t seem right about this story. For one, these are grown men and women, they’re not children being spoon fed Islamic idealogies. So unlike children they’re not innocent and naive. If our soldiers are being bombarded with Islamic propaganda in Afghanistan then they wouldn’t all of a sudden embrace it. People convert for two reasons, forced conversion and willing conversion. A naive child being spoon fed Islamic propaganda would be forced conversion, as they are raised into a religion without giving consent. But adults, let alone soldiers, do not get forced into a religion by propaganda. The hostages in Iraq that “convert” to Islam are forced into converting. So that leaves it to willing conversion. They must have wanted to convert on their own for some time, or at least one of them did and the other went a long with it in the name of love.
Either way, I’m calling bull on the story. Sounds too fake.
This most likely is true as it is not the first report (although this report says so). By 2005, there had already been 4 conversions of US soldiers serving in Iraq. At this rate, the entire US military will be under our control by the year 1,002,007 AD. Mwahahaha. (Of course by then it will be the Mexican military.)
