But the war is far from over.

Websense, Inc. Interesting:

Websense acquires SurfControl

On April 26, 2007 Websense, Inc. announced its planned acquisition of SurfControl, a provider of on-demand and software-based Web and email security solutions, subject to regulatory approval and approval of SurfControl’s shareholders. The combination of Websense and SurfControl is expected to benefit customers, partners and shareholders by creating an IT security solutions company with the scale and product offering to compete more effectively with large global security software companies.

The pre-conditions to the proposal have been met. On June 4, 2007 the proposal cleared Hart-Scott-Rodino review and on July 6, 2007 the proposal received clearance from the U.K. Office of Fair Trading.
The proposal is being effected by a scheme of arrangement under section 425 of the Companies Act. SurfControl announced that the Scheme Document was posted on July 20, 2007. SurfControl’s shareholders approved the acquisition at meetings held on August 16, 2007, and the expected effective date and closing is October 3, 2007.
