News from Down Under via the Herald Sun’s Andrew Bolt Blog (hat-tip: Gramfan):
John Howard last night condemned two entries in the nation’s top religious art competition, labelling them “gratuitously offensive” to Christians.
A statue of the Virgin Mary shrouded by a Muslim burqa and a holographic image of terrorist Osama bin Laden that morphs into Jesus Christ submitted for the Blake Prize have drawn a furious response from politicians and church leaders.
Insulting Christians and Western Culture just doesn’t seem to get old for those inside our societies that wish to watch us commit suicide as a civilization. But don’t you dare publish an Opus cartoon that pokes fun at Islam…

Follow-up: Osama, where art thou hanging?

And I’ll bet there will be no riots, car burnings, demonstrations or Fatwas issued either.
Roses are being turned into thorns.
Good is becoming evil, evil is becoming good.
Christianity is certainly under attack as prophesied.
Having just skimmed over the comments at Bolt’s, it frightens me that so many people obviously do not consider the knock-on effects of these anti-Christian attacks masquerading as ‘art’. Religious or secular, I’m sure a lot of the commentors are still living in pre 9/11 world, where filth like can still be passed off as ‘art’. Meanwhile, the Islamaniacs are stoking their Jihadist fires with it.
Isn’t that nice. Now I would like to see a piece of art that also reflects the truth-a picture of Mo dressed in an SS uniform.

I was pleased that Bolt saw right through what was going on.
He can see our civilization is under attack and needs defending. This was just one manifestation of it.
The pictures shown at LGF made me squirm and I am not a religious person. They were quite despicable by any standards.
The most annoying part is that these so called “artists” wouldn’t dare take on anything to do with islam because they are such cowards and know their necks would be on the line. They know Christians won’t touch them, let alone that some of the clergy aided and abetted this nonsense.
Does this make these artists “bullies”? I think so.
I guess what gest me is the glaringly obvious double standard - and that NO ONE seems to notice it! No one will address it! I’ve mentioned it so many times on my own journal and it’s dead silence.
