By now you’ve all heard about this tape, but I must post because of the significance that bin Laden appears to be yet alive, if only slightly warm. The tape appears to have been made sometime in mid-August because of references to the 67th anniversary of the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki which just passed on August 6th. From MSNBC.com:
WASHINGTON - Democrats were criticized in a purported video by Osama bin Laden for being unable to stop the Iraq conflict. The video, obtained Friday by the U.S. government, NBC News and other news oprganizations, marked the sixth anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks.
The al-Qaida leader said major corporations were to blame for the continuation of the conflict, which he said the “vast majority” of Americans want stopped.
“You elected the Democratic Party for this purpose,” he said, accorded to a translated transcript. “On the contrary, they continue to agree to spending of tens of billions to continue the killings and the war there.”
Story continues below ↓advertisementBin Laden urged Americans to embrace Islam if they want the war in Iraq to end.
“There are two solutions to stopping it. One is from our side, and it is to escalate the fighting and killing against you. This is our duty, and our brothers are carrying it out,” bin Laden said, according to the transcript. “The second solution is from your side,” he said. “I invite you to embrace Islam.”
Several intelligence agencies were trying to verify the authenticity of the 30-minute video — the first new images of the terror leader in nearly three years.
The tape contained no specific threat, but bin Laden urged young Muslims to carry out suicide bombings against the West — a piece of advice he offers in most tapes.
Bin Laden also recommended reading books by American authors Noam Chomsky and Michael Scheuer, a former CIA analyst. Chomsky’s book cites various examples of American imperialism, while Scheuer’s book argues that the U.S. does not understand the Islamic predicament.
Bin Laden suggested the Jews could have avoided the Holocaust if they had put themselves under the protection of Muslims and indicated that the mujahadeen were now determining U.S. policy.

As for this wonderful speech, it seems as if Chomsky or one of his flunkies helped him write it-leftist conspiracy drivel. Looks like Osama might have a touch of advanced syphillis. If so, it couldn’t happen to a more deserving bastard.
My favorite part is where he says all this will end as his followers
kill us while we’re to convert to Islam. What the hell is he talking about? If we convert he will still kill us? Wouldn’t surprise me if this is what he really meant-he’d complain we weren’t following Islam correctly so we’d deserve to die.

Well, that’s disturbing. I wish I knew some stockbrokers right about now, at least ones I could trust to analyze the information with some real insight and come to the same conclusion as those articles — or not.
It’s Sept. 9th as I type this. Tense times ahead for the rest of the month. I have a feeling there will be violence breaking out in protests and counter-protests worldwide — and if more 9-11 style attacks happen, the blowback is going to be unparalleled.
Just my gut feeling. Let’s hope nothing happens, but everyone should be prepared psychologically in advance for just about anything.
