Black Flag of Islamic Jihad on the Streets of NYC (Muslim Day Parade)

Muslim Day Parade Update:

Thanks to the intrepid Urban Infidel there are now some photographs available of the NYC Muslim Day Parade that transpired on September 9, 2007. One photograph in particular jumped out at me. In it a Muslim man is holding, and feel free to correct me if I’m wrong, an iconic black flag of Islamic jihad. Even more ironic about the photograph is that an American flag is in the same photograph and furled up almost in submission while the Muslim man waves the black flag proudly and higher than Old Glory. That’s a big traditional no-no for any of you new (or even not so new) Americans that might be unaware of how to present the Stars & Stripes properly.

Here is the shot:

Black Flag of Jihad at NYC Muslim Day Parade

Many more photos from the Muslim Day Parade may be found at Urban Infidel’s blog.

And more at Atlas Shrugs, complete with some heated confrontations caught on video.

UPDATE: Bigsibling points out, probably correctly, that the red, white and blue flag in the above photograph is actually a Puerto Rican flag and not an American one due to the number of stripes that seem to be apparent on closer inspection. I’m not exactly sure why anyone would be brandishing a Puerto Rican flag on a Muslim-American parade day, but it is NYC after all, and the mishmash of cultures is like nowhere else on Earth on every given day.

How lovely. Give it another 5 years or so and we’ll look back at this demonstration as “the good old days”. By then 9/11 will bring about joyous marches from the peaceful ones throughout the US featuring flag burning, car burning, Bin Laden t-shirts and other assorted crap. But it’s to be expected-our “leaders” continue to sell us out to the peaceful ones all the time, leaving the doors open so these idiots get plenty of company in the future. They have learned nothing about Islamania in the last six years-not one damn thing. That is why a demonstration like this was able to take place so soon after that atrocity. It will get a lot worse before it finally gets better.

This is the slow Islamization of America in progress. Some of the posters are seditious and treasonous.

There is slow Islamization under way in Canada too. This is a little bit off topic but is on topic with respect to creeping Islam in our country.

There has been quite an uproar in Canada this week over a Elections Canada decision to allow Muslim women to vote in Burqas or Veils. Most of the country is outraged over this right now.

This article below, Posted by: ala-sux September 10, 2007 2:28 PM at Jihad Watch is worth examination.

    Winnipeg Sun, 10/27/06
By Shahina Siddiqui, CAIR-CAN Board Member

“Once again the Muslim women’s hijab (headscarf) and the face veil have become the focus of international discourse. In Britain, Tony Blair and Jack Straw have expressed their disdain for the face veil some Muslim women wear, calling it a barrier to integration. This view is also shared it seems by Canadians, as was revealed in a poll conducted earlier this month by the Globe and Mail in which the majority supported this view.

As a Muslim woman who wears the hijab and one who has family and friends who also adorn the face veil in public, this is a discourse that touches me at a very personal level. My right to practise my faith has come under fire, and I will not take it lying down.

I grew up in a 99% Muslim country but never considered wearing the hijab, since I saw it as cultural practice. It was only when I had the privilege to study my faith free of cultural influences after my arrival in Canada 30 years ago that I came to appreciate that it was a requirement of my faith.

To me hijab is how I express my modesty and my surrender to my Creator. By adhering to this religiously mandated dress code (covering myself with loose, non-transparent clothing except my face and hands, and covering my hair with a scarf with no restriction on colour or design) I assert my identity as a believing woman.

I remember my personal struggle to wear the hijab, the inner debate, the discouragement from friends and the stares from strangers. However the day I chose to wear hijab I felt fully emancipated.

I felt empowered, free and at peace. I would therefore never support any attempts to force women to wear the hijab or the veil, because this would only breed resentment towards the faith and rob women of inner peace. I have never considered covering my face but I would not advocate to restrict the right of sisters who choose to, either.

Importantly, wearing a hijab does not make me a better Muslim than one who does not. It is not a litmus test of religiosity but a personal expression of faith.

Islam prescribes modesty for both men and women so they may interact on a human and intellectual level without distractions and exploitation. The requirements for each are different yet compatible with their nature.

The most disturbing aspects of this “debate” is that the misogynist attitude of “white middle-aged men” of privilege dictating what Muslim women should do, has gone unchallenged by champions of women’s rights. We have not heard a single western feminist voice in support of their Muslim sisters. Why? Where are the champions of a woman’s right to choose? They who supported the use of force in Afghanistan to liberate Muslim women from oppression of the “veil” cannot remain
silent when women are told they cannot live freely here.

This latest attack on the veil is yet another weapon in the “Islamophobia” arsenal. Under the banner of integration and assimilation an old idea is given new life: “free” Muslim women from the “shackles” of their heritage and enable the majority to absorb, control and remake the Muslim minority in its midst.

A Cheyenne proverb reminds us that a nation is not conquered until the hearts of its women are on the ground. Mothers are the teachers of faith, said Prophet Muhammad, and this strategy to divide Muslim women and to defeat their determination to preserve their faith for future generations of Muslims is insidious and racist, pure and simple.”

What a scam , CAIR now wants to claim the Burqa or hijab are NOT connected to their faith , yet the article above and past rants by Sheema Khan from CAIR have been demanding Sharia-Law in canada and declared Islamic dress is mandated in the Quran.

So which one is it Mr.Hooper , was CAIR-Canada correct then or are they telling a Lie today since CAIR-USA in WA D.C. is based on Whahabbi versions of Islam practised by the Saudis who fund about 80% of the Mosques in the West.

    My comments:

Here is a Muslim woman, Shahina Siddiqui, CAIR-CAN Board Member, affiliated with the ‘unindicted co-conspirator’ CAIR, appealing to the sensibilities of the citizenry of Canada, on the Islamic tradition of head covering, and how for her and her sisters in Islam, how personally religious this practice is, that it is her ‘right to practice my faith’ and furthermore it ‘was a requirement of my faith’, ‘religiously mandated’, no less. She goes on to say ‘Islam prescribes modesty for both men and women so they may interact on a human and intellectual level without distractions and exploitation’. she appeals to our liberal, tolerant country like those ‘who supported the use of force in Afghanistan to liberate Muslim women from oppression of the “veil” cannot remain silent when women are told they cannot live freely here.’

There you have it, if we believe in freeing women in Afghanistan, surely we could free Muslim women here, after all that would be bigoted not to do so right?

But just wait, there is more. She couldn’t finish off her appeal to us infidels, for our tolerance, without in her opinion, reminding us of our ‘misogynist [One who hates women] attitude of “white middle-aged men” or our ‘yet another weapon in the “Islamophobia” arsenal’ and to remind us, in her opinion,’this strategy to divide Muslim women and to defeat their determination to preserve their faith for future generations of Muslims is insidious and racist, pure and simple.’

So, misogynist?, Islamophobia?, insidious? and racist? Kinda mutes her eloquent personal appeal for tolerance, don’t you think?

This is my point. We see and hear the appeals of Muslims in our midst to adhere to our own espoused values of tolerance and freedom, to play on our own sensibilities as if we are the ‘racists’ and oppressors, and all the while we infidels should not notice the Islamic elephant in the room, who just poo’d all over the floor. (Like over 9400 times by the way. Ref The ROP website)

We hear such appeals daily, for peace and tolerance, from the likes of CAIR, CAIR-Can, and their Muslim brothers and sisters, to instill guilt and empathy in us, yet hoping we don’t notice the foul odor enveloping the room which would only distract from their message.

We see today, such appeals for inclusion, of a peaceful religion with that ‘I’m really just like you’ persuasion, in spite of the foul smell emanating from the jihad in 15 countries in any one week or the creeping sharia, bit by bit.

With these Muslim letters, and public speeches too, like the one example here, which does impress the PC crowd quite successfully, does nothing for the infidel, like me, who smells the poo. These Islamic pleas and presentations, steeped in our own western values, to promote mass guilt in the host nation, has seen rampant success in the Islamization of Europe over the last 30 years, to the point where the average European citizen must be wondering, why he didn’t sit up and take notice at the first tiny wiff of poo. Thats where it starts, one small plea, one tiny little guilty concession here, one little one there, and presto, 30 years later, Pakistan II.

To make a case as in this article, for understanding and religious freedom, followed by an attack on the ‘racist’ infidels only shows the double standard that is Islam. The host nation is played as a chump.

Finally, it is notable that the Shahina Siddiqui’s of the world who work diligently to make all the small gains in public opinion possible, and in practice, NEVER put any effort loudly and publically, to the condemnation of, or the fight against, jihad, or their brothers and sisters who commit it, or root out those
extremists responsible, or the mosques and Imams who preach it.

And all of this is the reason an infidel like me has serious doubt about the so called moderate Muslims, their intent to assimilate and their disdain for jihad and their will to reform.

The elephant is still in the room.

Give it another 5 years or so and we’ll look back at this demonstration as “the good old days”. - ISLAMSFORLOSERS

Try 4 years. Bloomberg set the precedent for these “vital members of our city” :surrender: to continue with this scurrilous harassment (aka annual muslim parade) on the second Sunday of September. Prior to 2006, for nearly twenty years, this parade took place on the last Sunday of September. In 2011, we will all endure this travesty directly on 9/11/2011. :aaarggh:

The words on the black flag are probably the shahada (Muslim decree of faith), with the entire image reflecting the banner of revolt and battle just like the flag early Muslims used on the battlefield (named Al-Raya) which was black fabric with the Shahada in white script.:war:

It’s been six years since 9/11 . . .when can we expect ‘moderate muslims’ to hold a parade or publicly demonstrate against islamic terrorism?

Looking at the image of the other flag . . .it resembles an American flag but it certainly doesn’t appear to have the correct proportions for 13 stripes. No doubt, this was intentional . . .after all, it’s a meaningful recognition that New Yorkers support diversity, tolerance and harmony and treasure pluralism .

There were no visible calls for peace there - all evidence points to calls for conquest.

Deliberate, IMO. Islam trumps any vestiges of patriotism which American Muslims might have.

Actually, there are only three stripes in that flag, and looking at other pics on Atlas Shrugs, I see they are brandishing a Puerto Rican flag. Which would lead me to believe the flag is not an American flag, but the flag of Puerto Rico. Just an FYI for ya!

It appears you are correct, Bigsibling.

This doesn’t reduce my cerebral hostility for the man with the black flag of jihad in his hand, however.
