Here is an open thread for the Labor Day weekend. And as promised, I have posted a new podcast.
I’m still refining the podcast elements and things are improving. My new microphone is working exceptionally well, but I still need to get used to recording techniques when adapting something I’ve written to the spoken word. All in good time.
This latest podcast is My Reaction to ‘Our Children’s Children’s War’, an editorial I wrote almost 6 months ago after viewing the Tep Koppel television special on the Discovery Channel.
You will most likely notice that I spent a good deal of time producing a greatly expanded introduction for the Foehammer’s Anvil Podcast. I hope you enjoy it. I wanted to create something that left no question as to what the focus of my podcast is.
Trivia: See if you recognize any of the music that precedes my own composition.
This thread is now open for any discussion. I hope everyone is enjoying the holiday weekend!

We’ve had some success thus far in getting the Anvil and other antijihadist sites un-blacklisted from “censorware” companies such as SonicWALL. But there is still considerable work to be done.
I’d like to ask everyone’s help in identifying other antijihadist sites that are being blacklisted, and other “censorware” companies that may be blacklisting the Anvil and/or other antijihadist sites.

1389, you have done a very good job of all this on your site.
Many thanks!
Does anyone have an elevator story about Islam that they could post up here? If you got into an elevator with a complete stranger, what would you have told him by the top floor that would have him convinced that the world has a problem with Islam. Being a relative newcomer to this, I am currently in information overload, but I try to “convert” everyone I meet. It’s difficult to sum it up convincingly in just a few minutes however. All “elevator stories” welcome!
Whew. That’s a tall order, Silent. I think the problem with Islam requires multiple elevator trips to break through the layers of defense that are built up in most people. But if anyone can give some “magic bullet” phrases to turn a dhimmi into a proud infidel, please, please post them — such ideas might change the world!
Ashamedly, I’ve only been able to convert one dhimmi and that was through loaning him my copy of Mark Steyn’s ‘America Alone’. Problem is, the guy is pushing 80. I can only hope that he follows through with his promise of recommending it to his sons and their extended families, and that the domino-effect takes over from there!
The ‘elevator story’ is definitely one to ponder. I think it’s also important to pre-empt the contemptible and downright fallacious viewpoints you’re likely to encounter, and knock them on the head them with cold, hard facts. I’ve lost count of the number of times I’ve called talk-back radio and been literally shut-down with the reply, “Ah, but there’s a lot of nastiness in the Christian Bible too.” In short, be prepared for moral equivalency because it’s rampant.
Simone,
Yes, but the Christianity counter doesn’t work for the century we are living in. That was then, this is now. I converted an entire dinner party on Saturday night, also my cleaner is now a convert and is telling everyone she knows on her ex-pat forum she is a member of. I buy multiple copies of all the books from Amazon (America Alone etc) and when I lend them to people tell them I don’t want them back, to pass them on. My concern is how to target the bulk of the population who use the internet for email but not for researching and reading much. I am thinking of typing up a few elevator stories targeted at different people (e.g women-focus on the womens rights area, gays- a different focus etc) with the urls’s of some websites (like this one) and always having them on hand to hand out to people. Just half an A4 page. I have also drafted an email that I’d like to get sent out by as many people as possible to their email address books, try to get it viral. Problem is I need a writer to review and edit it for me, because I am not a good writer. So if anyone knows someone who could help?

Silent Majority - I didn’t mean to infer that Christianity is morally equivalent to Islam. Perish the thought! The point I was trying to make is that if Australian talk-back radio were an elevator, simply stating that ‘Islam is not a religion of peace’ is tantamount to pressing the ‘open doors’ button and being kicked out by the elevator operator. It’s simply impossible to elaborate any further because the presenter ends the call. Well, that’s been my experience anyway. That’s why American talk-back appeals to me so much more.
You know, the email/A4 page you’re suggesting could probably get you arrested in some states (namely Victoria)!
Buying books for people is definitely a tried and true strategy that can yield results over and over as the books get passed along. Unfortunately, it can get expensive.
This is a hate site, isn’t it. Your comments are fear- and hate-mongering. Shame on you.
@nemo loris: Blind ignorance is appalling, but dealing in rash libel is sheer stupidity and arrogance. If you do not want to make use of the resources here to start learning what this site is actually about, then do not bother visiting — and especially posting comments like that — again.
