September 11th: National Victimhood Day?

I’m probably going to offend a few people this morning with what I have to say.

Listening to the words of interviewers and those who lost loved ones and speakers standing behind podiums at Ground Zero this morning, six years after the Day that Changed America Forever, I am left feeling that it is time to move on. We do not move on by repeating the names of those who died and referring to them as “victims” every year. Grief is real and doesn’t ever go away completely, but we are not looking at 9-11 in the correct light. That day was not just a terrorist act, it was an act of war. The men and women that died that day were casualties in the war that continues today. We have to come to grips with what it all truly signifies.

Burning 9.11We must not do so much crying as we should be looking to avenge those we lost. The best way to make things right is to prevent such assaults as best we may. This means we have to look the problem straight in the eye.

We aren’t.

Phrases like “continuing terror threat” and “every year Al Qaeda becomes stronger” only serve to get my blood boiling. Al Qaeda isn’t some alliance of bogey men. It is an Islamic Jihadist group bent on spreading the ideology of Islam and built upon the example of Muhammad. It is only one cog in the Islamic machine; use of terrorism is only one tactic of the Islamists.

When too many of our supposed leaders make comments that frame Al Qaeda in a light that build it up as “unstoppable”, this should warn us that we are not being told the truth about this conflict. I have gone over this time and time again here at the Anvil. This is not a War on Terror that we are in, but a World War with the Islamists, a war for our very existence as a Western Culture, and a war against Evil and Deceit.

Are we to constantly play the role of the victims? This isn’t healthy. We need to take on the role of the warriors, because we are fighting for what we hold dear, and the loss of those innocents on September 11, 2001 should only serve to make us steadfast in the defense of where most of those who were lost on that day were born into.

Pentagon flagWe will only avoid more September 11ths by confronting our true enemies, but Islam is stronger here in the United States and over in Europe and down in Australia today than it was in 2001. We have ourselves to blame for that. Blind appeasement and silly adherence to illusions about the ‘Religion of Peace’ erode our good sense. The source of the terror that spawned Al Qaeda and lead to the tragedy on 9-11 is Islam, nothing more, nothing less. So, enough idiocy and weakness: those who have died to Islamists throughout all of history deserve a better vindication.

The United States of America is not a nation of victims, we are a nation of warriors. We have fought for Freedom like no other nation in history. Never forget that. It is one thing to remember those we have lost, but it is another thing altogether to constantly reopen wounds and give hope to our enemies that we can be carved away into nothing but dust by their acts of hatred.

I also want people to better prepare themselves for the future. I firmly believe that we have not seen the end of violent attacks upon Western nations by the followers of Muhammad. In fact, the worse attacks persist, day in and day out, hidden from the naked eye, but still there; attacks upon our culture, our heritage, our school systems and the sentimentality of children. Our future generations are being molded by fear and dogma while we are too busy at work to know or to act to stop it.

And the Saudi oil money flows into the veins of our nations like a poison.

Open your eyes, Americans. Open your eyes, Westerners. This is not a day to cry and then walk away. This is a day to shed tears, but then to clench jaw, lift chin and stand straight and remember those history lessons from school. Remember old anthems:

“Land of the Free, Home of the Brave.”

Look within. Those aren’t just words.

There. You see it, too.

Live your lives free of fear and stay aware of the realities behind the ‘War on Terror’, because despite all the nonsense you are told elsewhere, if you’re reading here right now today, then you are one of the many that are no longer ignorant to the harsh realities that face us and Truth surrounding the War with Islam.

This is how to remember September 11th — by understanding how it actually happened and what ideology was the catalyst for it and what continues to be the Enemy into the future. Knowing that we have a duty to stop it from happening again, and again, and again is paramount.

Live your lives and be prepared to fight for what you believe in. After all, that’s the American way.

Sad and ironic that the people in Brussels are being beaten today for peacefully assembling to protest islamic tyranny.

America could take a lesson from them. We need to show we won’t allow our freedoms to be stripped by tyrants.

A new Bin Laden tape surfaced today.

This tape shows 9/11 hijacker Waleed al-Shehri, warning the U.S., “We shall come at you from your front and back, your right and left.”

Point being there is a penalty for not listening to the hateful warnings coming from Islam.

On the tape Bin Laden says: “It remains for us to do our part. So I tell every young man among the youth of Islam: it is your duty to join the caravan (of martyrs) until the sufficiency is complete and the march to aid the High and Omnipotent continues.”

Shall we continue to ignore these threats that are rooted in Islam?

There can be no question about who the real racists are.

Furthermore, we won’t hear one bit of outrage over these threats from the Muslim community. Count on it.

No More Victims Act-2007- An Act of Prevention
I read on a Wall Street Journal Forum that John Walsh is behind this. And something about Foley and what is really on his computer. (?) WHAT NEXT??? Is the fox guarding the hen house??? This really could happen, just like the AWA that was back doored as “Non-controversial” and Congress never got a chance to debate it.

    September 5, 2007
The No More Victims Act-2007- An Act of Prevention
Our nation has become one filled with fear and suspicion. We don’t know who to trust and our cries for prevention of child sexual abuse have gone unheeded. We have registration for after…. the fact. It continues to grow at an alarming rate…..after the fact. After the fact is not good enough. After the fact is too late. Prevention deals with before the fact and isn’t that what we want?
Registration has been tested in the highest courts in the land and still stands. It is not punishment. It is not for vigilantism. Its sole purpose is to keep people safe by keeping them informed. The reasoning may be good but those who are already registered do not create the rapid growth. These are the ones among us who we never suspected.
When it comes to sex crimes there is always the question of how many go unreported. Adopting the NO More Violence Act of 2007 can answer that question.
We can use FDA approved assessment tools and polygraphs that are already being used and screen the public at large. If a need for treatment is indicated, it should be provided. These are the weapons used to combat unhealthy urges in those who have been convicted of a sex crime. No child deserves to be hurt and no individual wants to be an offender so this is a win/win situation.
Those of us with nothing to hide would welcome the opportunity to put up or shut up.
This is the solution that has been so evasive. Now we have it clutched tightly in our fists and the time of grasping for straws is in the past. We have captured the beast
Leading politicians and high-profile activists have spent many desperate years advocating for solid solutions. We ask those in the forefront to take our Act and push it through Congress and on the President’s office with record speed. We also ask that these individuals be first in line for the testing that will end the nightmare that has besieged us for so long.
THE NO MORE VICTIMS ACT OF 2007
    UNDER THE ACT:
All persons, both male and female, age 18 and over must submit to a plethysmograh and given a risk assessment while under polygraph. The plethysmograh purports to have a 100% effectiveness rate in predicting who will offend, is FDA approved, and already in use in the United States. Given the recent high rate of offenses among teachers, clergy, governmental and law enforcement officials, and any other person in a position of trust or authority I move to start with those individuals first, as well as with any other person that maintains a position where working among children whether paid or voluntary.
Based upon the results of the plethysmograph, polygraph and an empirical risk assessment, each individual who cannot “pass” shall be placed on a public “high risk” registry along with their assigned risk level.
The site must include the following:
    1. A current photo
    2. Risk level
    3. Date of birth
    4. Living address
    5. Name of employer and work address
    6. If attending and educational facility, the name and location of said facility
    7. All e-mail addresses and online identifiers
    8. List any/all known deviations from currently accepted societal norms.
    9. Individuals who pose a risk must obtain a yearly driver’s license or state issued non-operating identification card. The image must, within 3 business days be submitted to the agency responsible for maintaining the sex offender website.
    10. ANYONE WHO REFUSES TO SUBMIT TO THE ACT WILL BE AUTOMATICALLY ASSIGNED A RISK LEVEL OF THREE AS THAT CAN ONLY BE AN INDICATION THAT THEY HAVE SOMETHING TO HIDE AND A REASON TO FEAR THIS ACT.
In order to withstand any constitutional challenges that may arise, any prior criminal act that is discovered to have occurred via the risk assessment and prior to the enactment of this act cannot be held criminally liable based solely upon the information derived from the assessment. However, such acts must be considered when designating the risk level said individual poses to society.
We foresee no challenges in respect to constitutional rights violations, as the sex offender registry is merely a tool for the public, to warn them of those that “may” pose some future risk to society and the intent is to prevent sex crimes. This “Act” merely expands the public’s awareness and would be a vital tool in the prevention of crimes as well as having the potential to catch those who have already committed crimes but have not been caught or prosecuted. Additionally, the courts have already ruled that registration is regulatory and not punitive in design and therefore The “No More Victims Act” will easily withstand constitutional challenges on that ground.

Once again, Foehammer, you have hit the nail squarely on the head! While we cherish the past, we MUST move onward into the future, knowing those who went before us would hope to do the same. During this time of mass reporting of General Petraeus’s and Amb. Crocker’s testimonies via very many emailings, we must pause to get our priorities straight. The larger so-called War on Islam is apparently, to Islamics, mandated by their misaligned alligence to their holy works, which apparently designate just these times as the End of All. Perhaps a parellel for better understanding among we Christians might be our Bible’s Apocalypse in speaking of the End of All plus the War of All Against All. Truth will always shine brightly everywhere, FH, and thus your work is among this phenomenon. Keep on Ranting!

Using the old rule of thumb that the best defense is an offense, we should forget the past and go after Islam not stopping until we get unconditional surrender. I leave it to the reader to figure out those details.

Foehammer, your site is an aspect of the digital part of that war.

Query: Why do not American cartoonists who post on Townhall.com do cartoons specifically caricaturing Mohammed? That would be a step forward.

If you read Diane West’s latest, The Death of the Grown-Up, you will see that the conservatives are the emotionally mature in the US who must carry along our children, the Left, the emotionally immature.

I’m not sure, but this I do know. Walsh and Foley are real close. They passed the AWA behind closed doors as Non-controversial. Congress did not get the opportunity to debate ANYTHING. This is costing Billions and the National Association of State Legislators don’t know how to implement it. It is the second most controversial subject that I know of, next to the war. It affects every village and hamlet across this country. Children as young as 5 years old have been put on a sex registry. And I could go on and on about the ruined lives caused by this AWA, which protects not one person and yes, I believe this No More Victims Act could be passed if the government wanted to, without constitutional muster. It is all legislated as Reglatory without constitutional protection. My opinion. The government has ALREADY BEGAN the process.

You know, the more I think of what you’ve said here, the more I think you’re right and that this is something extremely important to think about.

It struck me again because I had put a YouTube video on my journal. It was some sort of tribute video with various footage of the day. There were a lot of those going around, some well done, some cheesy. All done out of a good heart. We have a need for remembrances, for memorials, for tributes of various kinds. It’s just how we are as human beings.

But as I was about to shut down the computer for the night, I had a comment from a friend, asking me if I could put the video behind a cut because it upset her. She lives in the area, so I’m sure she saw and heard and felt things that I can only imagine. And this video - although you actually have to click it to see it - bothered her.

I really couldn’t believe it. For one thing, I only hear from her a few times a year. I assumed she wasn’t even reading my journal anymore, though I guess she has been, just not commenting. And I felt terrible. Normally, I would put a friendship over making a point. This is someone I love dearly. I know these anniversaries are difficult and I have no desire to add to her hurt. But I very well may have ended our friendship by what I did next.

I told her that I could not do accomodate her request. I simply could not participate in this ongoing attempt to erase these events from the collective memory. It wasn’t until this sad and painful exchange that I saw this issue in a way I hadn’t before.

No one wants to remember the horrors of that day. I don’t live in the area nor was I directly affected, and yet I sure don’t want to remember it. And I’m sure those who saw it up close would give anything to wipe it from their minds.

But this HAPPENED. And it happened for a REASON. And it’s still going on and could easily happen again. Six years on and people can’t bear to see a video? (Like I said, it wasn’t even playing, it’s one of those clickable things.)

If that’s the case, then what do we have left but victimhood? And that’s just not healthy. There’s a time and place for the mourning. In the regular events of life, there comes a time to move on. But this is not a regular event of life. It’s not something that happened one day and then ended, such as the events of Hurricane Katrina and even the tsunami of 2004 - something that unless we were personally affected we can say we wept for those lost, did what we could to help, and now it’s time to set it aside and get on with the rest of life.

This is ongoing. And because we absolutely refuse to look at the reasons why these people did this to us, we’re stuck. We can’t do anything. We hate to always be crying, but… we don’t know what else to do. I don’t think the human psyche can function in a state of constant mourning, so the only other option is to… not face it at all. To remove from ourselves any reminder of the events and feelings of that day.

And to silence anyone who dares to make us face it again.

    ***

I am sorry for babbling on. Your comments and my subsequent experience had me thinking in a way I had not before. I could be mistaken in this, I am still trying to work it out in my mind. But I keep trying to make sense of the way people continue to behave, and this explanation seems to make some sort of sense.

@Mo: It’s simply as I stated before — we cannot continue to behave like victims of a crime in this. We are at war. During war we not only must never forget the actions of aggression against us as a nation, but we must act in our own self-defense. Everywhere I look I see Americans running from the war, creating myths to drive us to retreat and tossing more and more olive branches at the Muslim community in vain hope of making them love us. The Islamists must laugh at us over dinner.

The USA could use a shot of testosterone.

Those who lost family members and close friends on 9/11 have the right to grieve and to memorialize the day. But, like you, I’m bothered by the sadness being in the forefront. Anger should be in the forefront–the kind of anger which leads to the proper avenging of 9/11.

America is not on a war footing. Most people don’t even seem to realize that we’re at war and that this war is critical to the survival of Western civilization.
