Baron Bodissey and the crew at Gates of Vienna blog have declared their project the Counterjihad Calendar for 2008 is done. You can buy your own copy of the calendar from the Gates of Vienna storefront or directly at this link.
The purpose of the calendar is twofold:
1. To enhance a sense of community among the inhabitants of the countries of the West. We can show solidarity with one another even as we remain nationalists within our own countries. The West doesn’t require an artificial and corrupt empire like the EU or the UN to maintain its collective identity. There is something that binds us together, a common heritage that enables us to resist Islamization.
2. To facilitate a greater awareness of the struggle we are all facing and how it is approached in different countries, by listing counterjihad blogs and websites on the sidebar for each country. Sites outside of the Anglosphere often post at least some of their articles in English, and, if they don’t, machine translation is available to help.
Proving that I am not omnipresent (despite rumors to the contrary) the Anvil is not listed on the calendar. Maybe next year.

Sorry, Foehammer!
There are so many American counterjihad sites that I was forced to triage severely. I had room for only about 25% of our blogroll, so I offended a whole lot of folks that I left off.
But thanks for the link, anyway. You are a generous-spirited soul.
If I ever do another year’s calendar (this one took me about 200 hours to complete, so the chances ar iffy), I’ll shuffle the listing and see if I can get you on there…
@ Baron: I don’t see Canada listed. How come?
@Baron: Hey, no worries. I know full well what a task it is to maintain blogs like ours and I don’t expect miracles. I’ve thought about doing a calendar myself, a collection of mini-posters, and if yours proves to be a success I just might…
The Gates of Vienna rocks! I have learned more about Europe at that site than all the newspapers, TV, or internet sites I visit combined. Keep up the great work and don’t be surprised that people like Foehammer know how to spot a winner.
I had the same problem with Canada — not enough room; 12 countries only. I had to leave out Norway, Belgium, Canada, New Zealand, Finland, Thailand, etc.
I left out Canada because that would have meant four English-speaking countries, which would have left me open to charges of Anglo-centrism. Besides, I really needed the others in.
Somebody was bound to get pissed off. There was no way around it.
@Baron: No one will be ‘pissed off’ at your splendid efforts!
