TORONTO - A Toronto mosque is telling Muslims not to say “Happy Thanksgiving” or invite friends into their homes for turkey dinner on the holiday weekend.The Khalid Bin Al-Walid Mosque says to “avoid participating” in dinners, parties or greetings on Thanksgiving because it is a kuffaar, or non-Muslim, celebration.
A two-part article on the mosque Web site says Muslims should also “stay completely away” from “Halloween trick-and treat nonsense,” Christmas, New Year’s, anniversaries, birthdays and Earth Day.
“How can we bring ourselves to congratulate or wish people well for their disobedience to Allah? Thus expressions such as:Happy Thanksgiving, Happy Birthday, Happy New Year, etc, are completely out,” it says.In 2003, the Khalid mosque, which mainly serves the Toronto Somali-Canadian community, apologized for a newsletter that compared wishing someone a Merry Christmas to congratulating a murderer.
At the time, a junior employee was blamed for the slight, but the mosque’s Web site has since posted similar edicts covering not only Christmas but also virtually every other Western celebration.
Muslims who participate in the holidays are termed ignorant and hypocritical.
While not all are religious holidays, the Internet site says Muslims are required to be different from non-Muslims “in matters which are representative of them or are characteristic of their identity.”
Also banned, it says, are: watching sports or soap operas, walking dogs, family photos, wedding bands, Western hats, mingling and shaking hands with the opposite sex.
“We come in peace.” Riiiight.

We are being force fed how peaceful Islam is and how bigoted we are when we doubt moderate Muslims are no harm at all.
Now if this story doesn’t reek of Muslim bigotry first class, I don’t know what does.
The fact is: Muslims are not interested in assimilating, becoming Canadians. Neither are the moderates, because we see and hear nothing except bigotry and intolerance from the religion of peace while the moderates do nothing.
We should not measure by what they say, but by what they do and what they are doing is chipping away at the western culture and values every day of the week.
It is true ‘war is deception’ and most of the population is being deceived and swallowing it. How long the deceit can be maintained is directly proportional to Islamic success.
It is proposed that Muslims may smoke in a hookah lounge because Vancouver city council members bowed to arguments that hookah lounges provide an important cultural space for the city’s Muslims. Me, infidel, cannot. Elections Canada has also recently ruled women may vote while veiled, in spite of the public uproar.
And now if you can believe this, John Tory, the Conservative Leader vying for election in Ontario’s next Provincial Election has made one of his ‘election planks’, public funding for faith based schools. Now since there is already funding available to Catholic Schools, we all know what schools are proposed to be funded don’t we?
Hugh Fitzgerald, of Jihad Watch fame, wrote today: “There are passages in the Qur’an and hadith that clearly forbid any recognition by Muslims of the religious practices or holidays of non-Muslims, lest those Muslims begin to think that somehow non-Muslims can be treated as equals, instead of as the dhimmis they were always meant to be, laboring under disabilities intended, above all, to be constant reminders of their own humiliation and degradation, because they refuse to believe in Islam, that is refuse to accept the true, the right, the only conceivable way, the way that Allah revealed to Muhammad and that only the “ungrateful” kuffar would reject, and so deserve what they get.”
So the “dhimmis they were always meant to be” need to wake up within a year or so, if western culture is to be preserved.
Pass the bucket please.
Good. More turkey and candy for the rest of us. See, rejecting Islam really does have it’s advantages.
But reject honoring Ramadan and see what happens.

@Always: I’m absolutely speechless. And the amendment is presented by a Texas representative, no less.
I say the USA and Canada have big problems. We don’t know who we are any more. We have forgotten the cultural traditions and values that made a nation.
Now we are becoming a conglomerate of multiple nationalistic and religious views, religion having been drawn into active politics which is conflicting and downright dangerous.
We are sliding into an abyss of left vs. right, greased by a big fat wedge, called Islam. Never have we had troubles with Christians, Jews, Buddhists and so on, until the Muslim population started to grow.
No one ‘imposed’ upon the other like Islam does. It is safe to say that as Muslims gain concessions and recognition, we will be falling into the grand scheme of life altering submission because our minds can’t comprehend anything other than the relative peaceful stability we have enjoyed over the past 200 years, nor can we comprehend any entity who would come here, take our generosity, safety, prosperity and laws with outright contempt at the same time.
Alarmingly, many of them will admit they are Muslims, not citizens. That’s a crisis, no less.
We need to figure out real soon, if we have a spine or not and if we consider ourselves morally fit to stand up and defend our way of life, our Judeo-Christian values and freedoms. Yes our way of life, built with blood and sweat, and to make a choice for our generation now and to come, not the way of life of a bunch of imported ingrates.
God forbid one to go to the middle east and expect to impose ones cultural / religious will over there.
Is that choice so hard to make? Look at your children and grandchildren and tell me that choice is too hard to make.
