Today is the day when we honor those soldiers that have served and died to protect our freedoms and the Constitution of the United States of America. Whether you are attending a ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery or shaking the hand of a veteran you know, let all those that have gone into the fight understand how much we appreciate them.
We have the greatest military in the history of the world here in the U.S.A. Our military traditions are time-honored and world renowned. These men and women make us all proud, but they most importantly keep us free.
Remember them today.

May no one ever forget their Heroes.
In Flanders Fields
By: Lieutenant Colonel John McCrae, MD (1872-1918)
Canadian Army
IN FLANDERS FIELDS the poppies blow
Between the crosses row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.
Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

I will repeat the message I left on JW.
I would like to thank soldiers from every country who have fought for our freedoms.
I know if it were not for the US I would be speaking Japanese right now, or maybe would never have been born.
Yet I see an even worse conflict as many of you also are aware of. It will not be fought in the trenches or in the Pacific, it will be fought by all of us,,yes those of us who make use of the internet, and of course our military. It will be global.
In Australia we had our Rememberence Day yesterday.Ceremonies etc etc.I do not take them lightly.
I have to say I used to consider myself a pacifist, but what is the good of pacifism and Geneva conventions when our adversaries do not fight by normal “rules of engagement”?
This is a different war, it needs different rules and if the gloves don’t come off soon I don’t want to contemplate the consequences.
I humbly appreciate all the comments and work done by the people who
post here.
I read a couple of good lines today:
“Those who stand for nothing fall for anything.” ~ Alexander Hamilton
A Poster, Joe Molnar, at smalldeadanimals posted this today:
“A pastor who spoke at the Woodstock, Ontario cenotaph this morning had a line worth repeating to the politicians who bleat for terrorist pacification and retreat.
The Pastor said :
‘if you will not stand behind our military services, then go and stand in front of them‘ ”
WOW, that’s a very strong message.
Glad to see that Sounder posted “In Flanders Fields.” That poem speaks to my heart on many levels.
I found quite an interesting article for today. See THIS. We won’t have any WWI vets with us much longer, so his story has great poignancy.
I regret to say that our veterans fought for nothing… We are losing our freedom of speech, oppression from Islam, terror attacks on our soil and our governments done nothing to halt this facsist ideology. It reminds me of a child drowning in a lake, yelling for help and no one assists. This is very sad!
An omen…
