All that is known at this point is that the shooter was a black male, possibly wearing a black ski mask, approximately 6 feet tall and that he is also among the dead. There may have been multiple shooters. At least 8 people are dead victims. The total number of dead is 9 including the dead gunmen.
Obviously I will be following this story closely. Could this be another case of Spontaneous Jihad? I know you’re wondering.
UPDATE: I don’t know whether to be more disgusted or relieved by the updates to this story, but most likely this was in no way, shape or form an Islamic terrorist event (this time), despite the use of an AK-47 in the shooting. I don’t know how witnesses describe a thirty-something African-American male that turns out to be a lanky, 19 year old white kid that used to work at McDonald’s, but I suppose when guns shots are going off in a shopping mall and someone is wearing a ski mask, just about any description is possible.
The shooter left behind a suicide note that read, in part, “sorry for everything,” and “Now I’ll be famous.” (Name deleted) recently broke up with his girlfriend and lost his job at McDonald’s. He also had a criminal record.
Not made famous here, (name deleted). I think I’ll adopt a new policy of treating killers like this with the disdain they deserve. If it’s infamy they seek, perhaps they’ll get it over at CNN, but I’m sick of these copycat cowards shooting people like fish in a barrel because they mistakenly believe it will validate their broken lives.

This murderers name should be with-held during reports - not to protect his family - rather, to thrust this heinous individuals identity into unmentionable dimensions, denying his last wish of “going out in style”. The press would do everyone a favor by concentrating their reports on the victims of this crime instead.

Of course my first thought was Islamic terrorists. Either planned or one with SJS. Didn’t the FBI announce just last month that there were reports we may have attacks in our Malls during the Christmas shopping season? Given the insanity of Islam it was a logical assumption they could be behind it. One “planner” of such an attack was sentenced last week in Ohio where he planned to throw a hand grenade in a Mall there. However it does appear to be another loser-lone-killer. I wish the media would stop using his picture at the bottom of the screen. It just encourages the next moronic loser-killer. Maybe if they didn’t it would deter the next killer creep to come down the sewage drain.

The longer we go without hearing details about the suspect the more I will know I am right. Every nut will have their say and they will prove our point. To them the Army is the enemy not islamists. Yesterday, I happened to catch on MSNBC an interview with one of the survivors, immediately after she was released from the mall. One of her points was that the shooter made a big show of deliberately shooting a teddy bear. She went on and on about that teddy bear. Anybody else hear that?
MSNBC replayed the interview at least two times before editing the video and removing that part about the teddy bear.
The first thing I did when I heard the news is to go to TROP to see if this is another statistic since 9-11-2001. It is not. It has charateristics of an Islamic terrorist attack but it doesn’t seem to involve sudden jihad sindrom. This is very similar to the 1984 massacre in MacDonald’s Restaurant in San Ysidro. Nope, it does not appear to be Islam motivated…

Why edit it out? I have a few ideas of my own about the reason, but I’d like to hear from others about it.
I’m absolutely certain as to what I heard that woman say–not once, but twice–the first time in video feed, the second time in a replay a few minutes later. After that, no more of that particular portion.

Just think what your reaction would be if this were a Islam inspired attack?! Read the small thumbnail sketch biographies of these people. Look into their eyes! My community is filled with people like that. After you have done what I said, ask yourself, how long would the American people put with that kind of nonsense? I pray fervently that the answer would be not too long.
