Atlas Shrugs: NIE ‘a work of fiction’

Ahmadinejad and KhomeiniAtlas Shrugs brings to light this morning information that proves that you do not always need to know all the facts to know when you are being lied to. My suspicions from just the other day about the validity of the NIE reports are being proven correct. Honestly, should anyone be very surprised?

The evidence continues to mount that this NIE was a work of fiction. Critics from across the political spectrum have voiced skepticism about its conclusions and its methodology; European allies doubt its accuracy, the International Atomic Energy Agency (which normally “sides” with Iran) has raised serious objections. The only parties that seem to trumpet the NIE report are Iran, Russia, and China-our foes.

Removing John Bolton from the United Nations was one of the dumbest political decisions to come out of D.C. in recent memory. Just like removing the bulldog Bolton from a job that he was doing so well, the National Intelligence Estimate is yet more smoke and mirrors in the same effort to hide the grim reality that our enemies are closing in and we are doing too little to stop the worst of futures from one day slapping us across the face. At least when that slap finally lands, we won’t have any more excuses to not pay better attention.

There’s a somewhat curious article on this NIE on FrontPageMagazine frontpagemag.com/Articles/Read.as...D73A-C822-4CC9-B1CB-BFAA0443FC12
that prompted me to leave this comment:

    “Am I missing something?

Isn’t it just a little strange that the NIE, now that there’s a lot of opposition against taking on Iran, reports that Iran backed down as early as late 2003, while in 2005, two (!) years after that alledged fact, they claimed “Iran was “determined to develop nuclear weapons,””? How good is an intelligence organisation if it needs 4 years to uncover enemy activity? Doesn’t it seem more likely that this is a staged report, originated by anti-Bush individuals?

Now the author may think it’s all nicely in line with the capture of Baghdad and such, but I’m not convinced. If that was the case, the 2005 report should’ve had these details. As it is now, I don’t believe one iota of it.

There is another reason… the federal government seems to be infestated with enemy moles through and through, especially the State Department.

Is that not part of the plan of the Muslim Brotherhood for America?

That’s exactly what I was referring to when I said it is pointless to argue with an anonymous. Foehammer blocks/deletes my comments when he is unable to respond, but an asswipe like you has no integrity, so you make it sound like I cannot debate a dimwit like Foehammer. There are two reasons you prefer to remain anonymous. You are either too fucking stupid to create a screen name or you don’t want to own up to your own words.

    OT . . .the words

“. . .that you do not always need to know all the facts to know when you are being lied to.”

struck a nerve FH. Via Drudge:

FOREIGN Secretary David Miliband has signed the hated EU treaty.
Mr Brown is due to put his name to the Treaty of Lisbon - which replaces the failed EU Constitution - later today, after he joins the other EU heads of government at a private lunch following the official signing ceremony.

    Two quick points:

When have I ever been “unable to respond” to any comment or attack or lie that has been tossed here @ the Anvil? I’d like to know. If I don’t respond to every single such jibe, it surely is not because I am “unable” to do so. More than likely it’s because I already responded to clones of the same infantile, ignorant and/or hateful remark two or three times the previous week, day or hour.

Next, beware of anyone that ever calls me a “dimwit”, “stupid”, “dumbass” or the like. This is always clear evidence that you are dealing with either a raving lunatic or a complete pseudo-intellectual. I have been called many things in my short time on this Earth, and many of those things (a few not so nice) have been true; stupid ain’t one of them.

@heroyalwhyness: Every so often when I write something that sticks in the front of the brain or I’m struck by the profoundness of something I typed, I wonder where it came from.
