Boycott Islam: Sharia equity index debuts on Tokyo Stock Exchange

It’s almost as if I’m living in a nightmare and someone needs to shake me awake. Greed will destroy us all yet if we let it; anything to garner more revenue, even if it means shaking hands with the ghost of Muhammad in order to please his followers and their ideological insanity. Nobody should still believe that Islam is “just a religion” after reading this news; not even the most diehard moonbats among you.

From CNN Money:

TOKYO, Dec. 3, 2007 (Thomson Financial delivered by Newstex) – The Tokyo Stock Exchange on Monday launched a new sharia index of shares in companies that comply with Islamic law to meet growing demand from investors, particularly in the oil-rich Middle East.

The index of 79 stocks traded in Japan, jointly developed by the TSE and the US rating agency Standard & Poor’s (NYSE:MHP) , dipped 0.39 points or 0.04 percent to 1,006.51 on its first day, outperforming the benchmark Nikkei-225 which lost 0.33 percent.

The index excludes businesses that offer products and services considered unacceptable under Islamic law including alcohol, financial services, gambling, pork, pornography and tobacco.

The TSE said all the companies whose shares are included in the index are screened on a daily basis to ensure that they maintain strict Sharia compliance.

With demand for sharia-compliant financial products growing, the index ‘will further enhance the cross-border flow of capital between Japan and many other countries throughout the globe,’ said TSE senior executive Tomoyoshi Uranishi.

According to sharia law, the earning of interest is banned and there should be no links to companies associated with tobacco, alcohol or gambling — practices that are considered taboo by Muslims.

Islamic finance is attracting growing interest as finance firms woo increasingly influential Islamic investors, particularly Middle East funds flush with petrodollars.

Damn you greedy bastards. The reach of Islam even has touched Japan, where I thought perhaps it would be kept safely at bay because of ancient Bushido traditions.

Obviously, there is a world wide effort to appease Islam rather than deal with the root problem. Typical move for leftist societies. Avoid tinkering with their PC agenda at all costs. But it will COST, someday.

From our point of view, we need to identify which companies on the index have taken some specific action to cater to shari’a law, and boycott those.

    1389,

Im boycotting Wal-mart, JC Penny, Autozone and Office Max over their decision on pulling advertisment on the Micheal Savage show. I did call and e-mail them to let them know.

I’m afraid that list would encompass more companies than anyone is going want to believe and it is growing larger by the day.

The rich seem to live in a bubble.

Confused. ‘will further enhance the cross-border flow of capital…’ Isn’t trading stocks on the Tokyo stock exchange considered a ‘financial service’?

And what the heck is a ’sharia-compliant’ financial product? Sounds dangerous, whatever it is.

Either way, agree with 1389. Follow the money. Follow it very closely. It will be interesting to find out who is investing in what, and who is sharing in the benefits, and the profits, of these transactions.

The Japanese are trying to encourage investment from rich Middle-Eastern countries in their OWN companies.

Question: How are Muslims the only “greedy” ones? Both are if you ask me…

You can now add Universal Orlando to the boycott list. See Pam Gellers post at Atlas Shrugs.

I agree that this appears to be a nightmare. On the other hand, the notion of ‘taking lemons and making lemonade’ appears to be in order.

Some enterprising enterpreneurs can openly distance their business from sharia compliance rather, noting strict conformance with UN sanctioned Universal Human Rights . Human rights and Sharia compliance are definitely, permanently irremediably irreconcilable and antagonistic.

Any enterprise that openly dumps the OIC sanctioned Cairo declaration standard of human rights - gets my business.

    Nikita asked

“And what the heck is a ’sharia-compliant’ financial product? Sounds dangerous, whatever it is. “

Since Sharia defines ‘infidel’ ‘kufr’ ‘kaffir’ all that is ‘haram’ including ‘interest’ etc. . . .use your imagination. Financial institutions delude themselves believing sharia compliance is wholly voluntary on their part.

Wholesale sell offs of corporate stock ensure the strategic shift will be swift and painful.

Less than 7 years post 9/11 - the world spins off it’s moral axis for imagined almighty profit$ (pun intended) .

Question: How are Muslims the only “greedy” ones? Both are if you ask me…

I wasn’t clear enough that the greed of the West and Asia was contributing to the problem? I could care less about Muslim greed. Islam already hungers for power over the world. What difference would the lust for money from the Middle East make?

The end result is still the sam: Islam is our enemy and too many non-Muslims are playing right into the hands of Islam’s purveyors.

In short, I never stated anything even close to what you just tried to imply.

It is only a matter of time, we see that you come here and make up your own rules. Soon you will be sharia banking in sharialand, don’t believe me, look around and listen to what people say. You are cheating the rest of us and you call us hateful well at least you are consistent. Betcha dodge paying taxes and collect any handouts you can don’t you. If you want to live in an islamist paradise, leave, get out, beat it, there are plenty to choose from. But you don’t want to do that because you all have other plans don’t you. We don’t want lazy cheaters among us, people who bring nothing to the table by being here, no matter what they are or where they came from, get it?

We don’t want that, this or you, over here.

I see. So, when I stand up to defend my culture, my country and my religion against the incursions of an enemy, I am “hateful”, but when you do it it’s called jihad?

Since you’re typing from Sweden, I’d like to know: are you a Muslim convert or are you a transplant from the Middle East. I have several good friends in Sweden and the surrounding nations. I’m saddened by the changes I know are taking place up there in the name of “religious tolerance.” It does brighten my day though, knowing that my Boycott Islam campaign is annoying more than a few Muslims who are obviously aware that I understand the global strategy of the Ummah a little too well for an infidel, yes?

Poor, poor down-trodden Muslims. You really do whine louder than anyone when you are unable to push your agenda, your violent rhetoric and your mythology upon the world unhindered.

    Yes, it’s a good day…

There is a helpful sermon on Islam and Christianity HERE, and I hope you will listen to it. I think it is critical of Islam but in a respectful way. I certainly found it to be insightful.

    abu daoud,
Well the guy really says very little. The things he speaks of regarding Christianity are mostly beginners stuff or things even a once or twice a year Christian would know. Do your own research, read the Bible from Genesis to Revelations, then try to insert the Koran into the mix without bastardizing everything that was written before. The only part in the Bible I could see the koran fit into is perhaps Revelations.
    Matthew 10:22
22; and you will be hated by all for my name’s sake. But the one who endures to the end will be saved.
    Matthew 24:9
9; Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and put you to death, and you will be hated by all nations for my name’s sake.
    Mark 13:13
13; And you will be hated by all for my name’s sake. But the one who endures to the end will be saved.
    Luke 21:17
17; You will be hated by all for my name’s sake.
    Where’s the hate?
    Ezekiel 13:9
9; My hand will be against the prophets who see false visions and who give lying divinations. They shall not be in the council of my people, nor be enrolled in the register of the house of Israel, nor shall they enter the land of Israel. And you shall know that I am the Lord GOD.

As I said, read them all and then tell me these books are all in the same set. If all that is written holds true I would not want to be in an islamists shoes on judgment day.
