No, I’m not dead, I’ve just been very busy and the Anvil has had to take a backseat to my outside obligations for a change. For instance, I had to take one of my pets in for surgery and he requires pain medication regularly; that sort of obligation. Not to mention the holidays are here. We all understand the extra burdens and stress this “festive” time of year can bring up. Ah, to be a simple child again…
I haven’t been completely idle on the Anvil however. I tackled something the past couple of days that has been driving me out of my mind for far too long and that’s one word:
Spam is a nightmare for everyone in today’s modern world. It is the weapon of choice of vermin all the way from impoverished hustlers in Africa to Islamic terrorists hiding right down the street in someone’s neighborhood here in the United States. It causes a huge waste of time and this affects the bottom-line for individuals as well as multi-billion dollar corporations. It slows down law enforcement and hampers government and military and medical organizations. It injects images once left to the back rack of news stands directly into the young minds of our kids. It is a diabolical and dastardly pain in the posterior if there ever was one.
Well, I have found the solution. It is Gmail from Google. Google’s own version of Hotmail is vastly superior to any other free email service out there and probably superior to 99% of the pay ones, too. It is with this realization in mind that I have now setup all mail both personal and Anvil-related to use Gmail as a conduit. Now when I go to check my email it will actually be the mail I want to read and it will be delivered to me instantly, pre-sniffed for spam, and ready to respond to. This should relieve the many Anvil readers who are no-doubt wondering why I take so long to respond to their private correspondence.
So, breathe a sigh of relief. I am tired but not beaten. I am still alive. I am now even better armed to defeat spam and the cretins that toss it at me. This leaves me with one last thing to say this morning:

You are welcome Always on Watch. The murder of the innocent Muslim girl, thanks to 7th century Islam, has and still is, a very hot topic all over, especially at your blog, well over 100 posts. WOW!
Foe - Debbie Schlussel has a new post up that would be useful to link to for the boycott. . .
