The following interview with former Governor of Minnesota, Jesse Ventura, is from September 26th, 2006. Interestingly enough it was done while he was on tour supporting the Texas Gubernatorial candidate Kinky Friedman during a stop in San Antonio, Texas.

I doubt many of you reading the Anvil are naive enough to believe that New York Governor Eliot Spitzer is the only politician in the United States alive today to utilize the services of prostitutes. Why then did someone believe it so important enough to go after Spitzer with the intent to actually smoke out his personal dalliances, and how might these reasons tie into some of the other issues I have recently been pointing out here with such temerity?

By now the entire world has witnessed to some extent the speech given yesterday by Barack Obama. I personally have only bothered to listen to bits and pieces of it, because I already knew that more discussion on the subject of “race in America” was just what it has been for too many years now: a diversionary tactic.

Bravo, Congressman Steve King of Iowa! It seems that Congressman King has caused a political firestorm in recent days by having the courage to actually proclaim to the world what I myself pointed out here for the first time at the Anvil way back in January of 2007, again in February 2007, and still further in March 2007. Most recently I wrote about this in an op-ed piece entitled: Criticism of Obama’s Muslim background is absolutely justified.

Senator Bob Kerrey is getting a lot of flack for his comments recently while endorsing Hillary Clinton. Kerrey’s “error” was trying to approach Barack Hussein Obama’s Muslim heritage in any way, shape or form, because the politicos out there will jump all over that out of ignorance and fear no matter what Kerrey’s intent was, positive or negative.

The FBI has released a report detailing the prospect that Al Qaeda may be plotting to strike shopping malls this holiday season. That’s taking the ‘War on Christmas’ to an entirely new level. Ho, ho, ho! Allahu Akbar!

9 CommentsThe Kingdom starts with a montage sweeping through the dustry sands of Saudi Arabia, briefly detailing the kingdom, the US, and its long history with oil, from 1932 to 2001. While that may sound boring, or even yawn-worthy, the music and editing on this sequence breeds more anticipation than some action movies. Historical video and audio clips are laid out on a clear timeline, and while no brief mention of an event can do it justice, it’s a quick and excellent short primer for the movie. There’s nothing quite as distracting as trying to follow along with everything in a film, especially a documentary, when you don’t know the background.

I must say that none of this is a surprise to me. That has to say something to you, gentle readers.
Europe, it’s time to fight back. I think perhaps a good place to start would be Brussels City Hall. Fat-headed leaders like Freddy Thielemans are selling Europe to the Islamists and acting as if democracy means to protect those that would destroy Freedom.

I’m probably going to offend a few people this morning with what I have to say.
Listening to the words of interviewers and those who lost loved ones and speakers standing behind podiums at Ground Zero this morning, six years after the Day that Changed America Forever, I am left feeling that it is time to move on. We do not move on by repeating the names of those who died and referring to them as “victims” every year. Grief is real and doesn’t ever go away completely, but we are not looking at 9-11 in the correct light. That day was not just a terrorist act, it was an act of war. The men and women that died that day were casualties in the war that continues today. We have to come to grips with what it all truly signifies.

It’s September 9th. Protests are starting at various points on the globe today and moving straight through to September 11th. It should be a happier world than it is, but again and again we are reminded that the innocence is gone — by Islamists, Anarchists, Russians and other pains in the ass.
I updated another article with a podcast a few days ago but neglected to announce it on a podcast Sunday. It’s not showing up in the sidebar player due to some sort of RSS bug, so I’ll mention it again for those that may have missed it.
