Open Thread: It’s a busy Sunday morning for Islamic apologists

By now you’ve read or heard or seen the news about the victimized British school teacher in Sudan who made the innocent “mistake” of allowing her classroom to name their mascot teddy bear Muhammad. Well, as predictable as the Sun is on a Sunday morning, here comes the wave of articles bound and determined to convince us that the “real Islam” is nothing like the Islam in Sudan. Or Saudi Arabia. Or Iran. Or Syria.

Um…

Today yet another so-called Mideast Peace Summit begins. It’s been a few years since a U.S. President has attempted to see something like this through, but it hasn’t been long enough that I have forgotten the previous results and so I will go out on a limb here today *coughs* and predict the outcome.

‘Muhammad’ teddy teacher arrested for ‘insulting’ Islam’s prophet

It’s Monday. It’s cold out. The Muslims are angry. An innocent infidel is in danger. Just another day in the world neighborhood.

From the BBC:

Colleagues of Gillian Gibbons, 54, from Liverpool, said she made an “innocent mistake” by letting the six and seven-year-olds choose the name.

Ms Gibbons was arrested after several parents made complaints.

A spokesman from the British Embassy in Sudan’s capital, Khartoum, said it was unclear whether she had been charged.

Embassy officials are expected to visit Ms Gibbons in custody later.

Yet Another Example of Bush Dhimmitude

First Lady Laura Bush wearing an abaya in Saudi Arabia once again sets the tone for the Islamization of the Free World by caving in to “cultural etiquette” demands of the Saudis. The Bush family has done more damage to the future of the United States than I could have at first imagined possible. Their absolute ignorance of the very enemy they embrace is nothing short of criminal. This is the First Family of the United States I’m talking about here! If they do not set the proper example, who will?

Welcome to the Dhimmi State of California

We are smack dab in the middle of Islamo-Fascism Awareness Week on many college campuses around the United States and as you might expect, the dhimmis and Leftofascists are out in force and upset about it. David Sforza, a second year political science major from the University of Southern California’s Daily Nexus, has these disappointing yet predictable interpretations of this week’s events. I’m not sure why California attracts so many delusional fools with visions of Utopia and marijuana fields, but it is always in a class by itself:

I couldn’t stomach the original name of the article as I found it, Paradise Valley family pens book that demystifies Islam, so I think you’ll understand. Welcome to the United States of America, where Muslims are protected and free to indoctrinate your children into the gigantic cult of Islam so that one day the USA will cease to exist and Americans will change it willingly in the name of Allah!

Does that read like a bad dream? Then this article should read like a nightmare, aptly coming from a place named Paradise Valley. The Devil himself must be chuckling at that irony (emphasis and links added):

Pat Condell Strikes Again

The irreverent atheist Pat Condell never ceases to amuse me with how he dissects Islam into all its bigoted parts. Thanks to Gates of Vienna for posting this latest of Condell’s videos, this one having to do with the upcoming farce called the Second Arab-European Dialogue on Human Rights and Terrorism. The point of the conference being imposed dhimmitude:

Saudi Arabia’s Human Rights Commission (HRC) will urge its counterparts in the European Union to ask their governments not to link terrorism to Islam and also to issue regulations to protect Muslims from prejudice and discrimination because of their faith.

The Wise No Longer Lead

I have had plenty of painful hours to contemplate the state of the West these past few days. The shock of the realization that our own Congress and President are handing this nation over to illegals and Muslims has started to wash away this morning, enough for me to type this brief collection of my thoughts.

Anvil Spotlight: Z

I’m contacted daily by concerned citizens of the world. Sometimes I’m contacted by especially talented individuals who seek to actually give of their time and amazing gifts and confront the threat of Islamofascism more directly. Such is the case with the artist Z.

The climate of the past week was one of dhimmitude and submission by Western governments and worst of all the Congress of the United States of America, the Pentagon and President Bush himself. It also saw the retirement of Cox & Forkum from their weekly political cartooning. The appearance of the following cartoon by Z could not then come at a more fitting time:

In the coming months I hope to present more original work from Z here at the Anvil. Stay tuned!

NYU student journalist sees no jihad in footbaths

The following article written by Abbey Fenbert, The fear of footbaths: It’s not exactly jihad, caught my eye this morning. The NYU student makes some pretty amusing statements. Well, amusing to me because I’m the jaded infidel, probably sad for most of you. Let’s have a look:

The Muslims are coming. They have footbaths. RUN!!!

WSN’s Sept. 24 article, “Muslims lacking a place to cleanse,” pointed out that footbaths might be a better option than the Bobst sinks for Islamic students washing their feet in observance of Salah, the daily prayer ritual. This provoked passionate debate in the online article comments, with many readers posting responses best described as bat-shit crazy.

A group of Muslim worshippers were gathered for evening prayer inside the Islamic Center of Southern California when Moses Port and David Guarascio arrived.

“The fact that we’re here is bigger than anything we could have even hoped for,” said Guarascio, creator, along with Port, of the CW sitcom “Aliens in America.” “But being here seems to make sense, you know, appropriate.”
