Open Thread: When Patience Runs Thin

Of late I have turned into one mean bastard online. I don’t take the usual amount of prodding I once did because I have been attacked in various ways, for too many years, since putting up the Anvil. My patience has run thin.

I would like to thank the hate mail tossers that keep me entertained. They also make me utterly aware of the deficiencies of the average follower of Islam. It is this sort of ignorant bile that I would love to see cured from the minds of people all across the world at some point, but wishful thinking, right? Mankind has been and will always be plagued by people that wish to control others through the use of dogma and mysticism and hypocrisy and lies.

Open Thread: Hey U

Behead those who insult IslamThis comment just in this morning inspired me to finally create the long overdue ‘Hate Mail‘ category. This will eventually lead to me adding a ‘Hate Mail’ page and add it to the sidebar menu. I’ve saved up quite a few messages along similar lines to the following, but this one I found especially amusing, so here it is, in all it’s R-rated, Islamic-love-filled glory:

From: against u

hey u fucker y do u say stuffs that r not true???

y r u saying false things, somrthings that will never be true???

Open Thread: Can You Refute the Facts?

American symbols burningOK, so in the past few days I’ve posted some pretty mind-blowing information. Believe it or not, I’m holding back. Much of what I’m learning has me rethinking things that I held sacred, that I never would have believed and that I certainly do not want to believe, even now.

What do you think? Do you see information that is completely bogus? Can you prove it with sources? I want you to.

Open Thread: Merry Christmas

Yes, Merry Christmas, not Happy Holidays. It still means “good tidings and joy” no matter what religion you cater to, so that’s how I type it today. Merry, merry Christmas!

I’m reminded today to look at things through the rose-tinted lens for a change. Things could be better for any of us; who’s ever completely satisfied, but this is no reason to grumble. God knows the state of the world could be better, but we do what we can to improve that, too. So, be happy this week. Enjoy the time with your friends and family and if for some reason you can’t be with any of those, then enjoy the time with your own happy memories and that will sustain you.

Peace.

No, I’m not dead, I’ve just been very busy and the Anvil has had to take a backseat to my outside obligations for a change. For instance, I had to take one of my pets in for surgery and he requires pain medication regularly; that sort of obligation. Not to mention the holidays are here. We all understand the extra burdens and stress this “festive” time of year can bring up. Ah, to be a simple child again…

Open Thread: Ho, Ho, Ho!

Muhammad and a smileWell, as a stint of jury duty approaches, it appears that I will not have as much time as usual to devote to the Anvil this coming week, so postings will slow down. Of course, they’ve slowed down already. My apathy is growing steadily, but maybe that’s just the holidays?

Ho, ho, ho!

Oh, wait, can I get arrested for laughing like Santa Claus? Or fired?

It’s a good thing I’m the boss around here.

This thread is now open.

Open Thread: It’s a busy Sunday morning for Islamic apologists

MetastasisBy now you’ve read or heard or seen the news about the victimized British school teacher in Sudan who made the innocent “mistake” of allowing her classroom to name their mascot teddy bear Muhammad. Well, as predictable as the Sun is on a Sunday morning, here comes the wave of articles bound and determined to convince us that the “real Islam” is nothing like the Islam in Sudan. Or Saudi Arabia. Or Iran. Or Syria.

Um…

Just take a gander at some of this morning’s stories that I pulled off of my (very handy) Jihad News Feeds:

Do recent events represent Islam? - Edmonton Journal

A strain of Islam the West refuses to confront - Edmonton Sun

A failure to confront radical Islam - Times Online

The truth is, as we’re beginning to realise, we’re locked into a battle for hearts and minds at the core of which lies a battle for the essence of Islam…

The “essence” of Islam? We don’t have enough terror in the world to let us know what that “essence” really is? If a neighbor walked into your home every day and struck you in the head with a shovel and said: “Allah made me do it.” — would that give you a better understanding?

Fanatics destroy image of Islam in Sudan and Saudi Arabia - Ya Libnan

Hirsi Ali’s Anti-Islamic Propaganda - Black Star News

Sensitive War

Oh, but wait, I’ve saved the very best for last. Did you know that President George W. Bush has authorized the creation of a United States Postal Stamp that honors Islam? Did you also know that it will be released in the U.S.A. on Christmas Day, 2007? Well, now you do.

United States Stamp Honoring the Muslim religion

Yet, all hope is not lost, gentle readers. I saw this exchange live and I was cheering Brigitte Gabrielle from my living room. Even Bill O’Reilly seemed genuinely tired of the excuses for Islam:

This thread is now open to any and all discussion of your choosing, but I think I know where this one is going to head.

Open Thread: I’m Back

Well, I’m back and refreshed from the continuing holiday festivities. Since Thanksgiving, I have eaten two entire pies by myself, more than enough turkey to make me sleep like a hibernating polar bear and mounds of stuffing and mashed potatoes! I wonder what’s for Christmas dinner this year…

Hmm. Do polar bears actually hibernate?

The answers to this and other fascinating questions coming up in the following open thread. This has now become a tradition of its own here at the Anvil. Play nice!

Open Thread: Same Conflicts, Different Day

It’s another day, another squabble with the 7th century. Do you have something to say to Islamists? Are you angry with the Mexican government? Has China poisoned your dog? Tell us your story. Air your gripe.

This thread is now open to debate, conjecture and the free exchange of information.

Open Thread: Veterans Day 2007

Lt. Michael P. MurphyToday is the day when we honor those soldiers that have served and died to protect our freedoms and the Constitution of the United States of America. Whether you are attending a ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery or shaking the hand of a veteran you know, let all those that have gone into the fight understand how much we appreciate them.

Civil War artillery at Arlington

We have the greatest military in the history of the world here in the U.S.A. Our military traditions are time-honored and world renowned. These men and women make us all proud, but they most importantly keep us free.

Remember them today.

This thread is now open.

Open Thread: The Coming Third World War

Jihad 2007It’s Open Thread Sunday here at the Anvil again already, but today I want you to go read an article by British Author Paul Weston over at Gates of Vienna (hat-tip: Sounder).

Here’s a taste:

When Francis Fukuyama wrote The End of History and the Last Man in 1993, it was to argue that Western liberal democracy and free market economics meant an end to warfare within the west, and by default, the end of history.

Open Thread: The Enemy of My Enemy

I couldn’t help but note that some blogs are pretty up-in-arms over Ron Paul associating with a BNP (British National Party) leader. I can’t say that I can agree fully with the negative things that I’m reading in reference to the BNP because I have read very different interpretations of this conservative (some would say fascist) organization. A few members of the BNP have surfed through the Anvil before and have never been anything but polite. I find it fascinating that people are so ready to judge a group so quickly when it is comprised of “whites” but we are at the same time supposed to not judge all Muslims or minorities. There’s a double standard at play here, and I’m sure that my boldness to say something about this is going to catch me some flack from other bloggers in this anti-jihad sphere.

Well, here’s the perfect opportunity to discuss this topic along with anything else. It’s Sunday and this thread is now open.

RELATED VIDEO: Nick Griffin at Clemson with thanks to Green Arrow. After watching just the first 15 minutes of this video, I can tell you that Nick Griffin knows what he is talking about. So, if anyone wishes to bash Nick Griffin, you’d better bring me serious, serious evidence as to why I should demonize, defame and marginalize a man that knows Islam inside and out and is standing up against the Islamization process. I mean that sincerely. Bring me evidence of this supposed “racism” on the part of Griffin and the BNP and I am willing to bet that I will find evidence of people that happen to be predominantly “white” being labeled racist for simply having the audacity to stand up for their own nation and culture. This is supposed to be wrong? I don’t get it.
