Navy SEAL Murphy to receive Medal of Honor

I caught an interview with Lt. Michael P. Murphy’s family on FOXNews this morning and then discussed the honor being bestowed upon Murphy with one of my own ex-SEAL friends. There is no doubt in anyone’s mind that this Medal of Honor is well-deserved. Bravery the like of which is displayed by our uniformed men and women each and every day is without true measure, so medals will have to do, especially when these soldiers make the ultimate of sacrifices. Murphy typifies the fighting spirit of the United States Armed Forces.

Afghan boy hanged with US dollars stuffed in his mouth

This Associated Press report was just too brutal in its reality not to cross-post. (Thanks to Jihad Watch.)

KANDAHAR, Afghanistan - Taliban militants hanged a teenager in southern Afghanistan because he had U.S. money in his pocket, and they stuffed five $1 bills in his mouth as a warning to others not to use dollars, police said Monday. Taliban militants elsewhere killed eight police.

The 15-year-old boy was hanged from a tree on Sunday in Helmand, the most violent province in the country and the world’s No. 1 poppy-growing region.

Dumps of Iranian, Russian & Chinese arms found in Afghanistan

Iranian President Mahmoud AhmadinejadMost of us believe by now that Iran has been meddling to the point of warranting a Declaration of War from the U.S. Congress. This Iranian meddling has been proven by continued uncovering of evidence in Iraq, but did you know that Iran is also arming the Taliban in Afghanistan? Certainly we are in a state of war with Iran. American and Coalition soldiers are dead because of Iran. Many innocents as well. I put the blood of those recently murdered North Koreans squarely on the hands of Iran as much as the Taliban after seeing more and more reports such as this one:

Gingrich labels war on terror ‘phony’

Newt GingrichA recent story in the Atlanta Journal Constitution reminded me of a brief interview I saw with Newt a day ago. There are important messages here from Gingrich. Pay close attention and read between the lines:

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich said Thursday the Bush administration is waging a “phony war” on terrorism, warning that the country is losing ground against the kind of Islamic radicals who attacked the country on Sept. 11, 2001.

True or False: Two American Soldiers Convert to Islam, Marry in Afghanistan

Do you believe this report? If it’s true, what does it say about what our soldiers are being taught about this conflict? From EurasiaNet Civil Society:

An Afghan newspaper, cited by the Reuters news agency, reported on July 26 that two U.S. soldiers have converted to Islam and got married in Afghanistan.

The “Hewad Daily” reported that the two soldiers are stationed at Bagram Air Base north of Kabul, the center of U.S.-led operations in Afghanistan. An unidentified U.S. military spokesman said he is working to verify the account, but added that freedom of religion is a protected right under the U.S. Constitution.

Bullet-Riddled Body of S. Korean Found

Bad news from My Way News:

The bullet-riddled body of a South Korean hostage was found by police Wednesday in central Afghanistan after a purported Taliban spokesman said the militants had killed one of the captives.

The male victim had 10 bullet holes in his head, chest and stomach, and was discovered in the Mushaki area of Qarabagh district in Ghazni province, said police officer Abdul Rahman.

The Taliban spokesman said earlier that the hostage was was killed because Afghan authorities hadn’t met their demands to release other militants from prison.

Glick: Iran and its client state

Ahmadinejad and Khomeini

Those of us who have studied this problem for any length of time fully understand by now that there will never be peace in the Middle East as long as Islam is hellbent on the destruction of Jews and ‘unbelievers’. Ahmadinejad has told us over and over that he wants to liquidate Israel, but that’s just not good enough for the West. We have to get a kick in the gut, a bash in the teeth. We basically will end up playing the victim again, worse than 9-11, because our leaders are so afraid of reprisals, loss of face with Arab oil-producing states and the biggest fear of all: not getting re-elected.

Dead Taliban Leader Was Training U.S. Recruits

I can’t help but think of Islamberg, New York when I read this story from ABC News. When one Islamic jihadist trains Americans to kill other Americans, another one surely is doing the same somewhere else. It might even be in a town near you or me:

Thirty-six hours before he was killed by U.S. forces, Taliban Commander Mullah Dadullah said he was training American and British citizens to carry out suicide missions in their home countries, according to a videotape interview to be broadcast on ABC News’ “World News” Monday.

Churchill

If anyone has paid attention to my random quotes on the sidebar over the years, and to various postings on the Anvil, it will come as no surprise that I’m greatly influenced by the writings and sayings of Sir Winston Churchill. Churchill was a visionary hero with great courage and both a masterful orator and writer. I aspire to be a fraction as good at moving people to action as he ever was.

Islamist Hate Film Given PG Rating in Australia

Hate monger Sheik Feiz Mohammed

From Australia’s Herald Sun (hat tip: Gramfan), yet more proof of Western double-standards that are eroding our way of life. Sheik Feiz Mohammed has already been heard from on the Anvil before, and if you want to sample some of his DVD box set, you can listen in my Multimedia section right now. And I have to say, the term firebrand is becoming quite cliché. Ugh.

A PRO-TERROR hate film that urges children to martyr themselves in a war of Islam versus the West and calls Jews “pigs” has been given a PG rating by Australia’s censors.

Fazal-ur-Rehyman says terrorism not associated with any religion

From the International News Network:

ISLAMABAD: Opposition Leader in NA, Maulana Fazal-ur-Rehman said that associating extremism with particular religion was not correct adding that it was the just policies of some countries that caused extremism.

Hmm…would that be policies of Muslim countries or non-Muslim countries or both? Let me guess — if it’s against Islam, then it’s going to cause extremism. This breaks down to free countries, largely in Europe and obviously North America. The ridiculous nature of Fazal-ur-Rehman’s statement makes my questions completely rhetorical, of course.

He said while talking to two-member German Parliamentary delegation led by Elik Hoff called on him, here on Wednesday.

Talking to delegation, the leader of the opposition in the NA said that Pakistan attaches great importance to its relations with EU countries and would like to further strengthen relations.

I’m sure you would since spreading Islam seems to be such a high priority. And when you run into opposition, now you’ve cultivated another excuse for Islamic extremism. Bravo!

He said that Pakistan and EU countries have similar views on many regional and international issues.

He said that Pakistan believes in peaceful resolution of regional and international issues and it is against terrorism and extremism.

Horse-puckey. Pakistan has not helped one iota in capturing bin Laden. Pakistan is a hotbed of Islamist activity. The Taliban has found a nice new home in your backyard and the nukes in your arsenal are going to be a point of worldwide contention and consternation before the end of another 5 years.

He said that Pakistan wanted peace in Afghanistan that was achievable through talks.

He underlined the need for enhanced exchange of parliamentary delegations between EU countries and Pakistan.

He further said that the world recognized the role of Pakistan was playing as a country.

Later on, German Delegation also called on Chairman National Assembly Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs, Dr Farooq Sattar.

The Chairman Standing Committee while talking to the delegation said that Pak-German relations rooted in deep cultural and intellectual understanding.

He said that EU countries played an important role in Socio-economic development and welfare of the developing countries.

He appreciated the German role in the fields of education, health, science and technology for Pakistan.

Yes, I’m sure they love the inroads into Europe. For centuries Europe fought off the Muslims. Now they give them free money and send them to schools and let them preach in the local mosques to initiate the unwitting into Islam. How wonderful for Europe!

He further said that Kashmir problem was unfinished agenda of the partition and its resolution was must for peace and prosperity in the region.

Pakistan wants peaceful resolution of the problem according to the wishes of Kashmiris and has shown tremendous flexibility in this regard. ” The EU countries should play their role to resolve this issue.”

He briefed them on broad features of Parliamentary democracy and the committee system in NA.

He said that prominent characteristics of the present Parliament included the representation of educated youth, the empowerment of women and strengthening of local government system.

He said that the MPs were also actively participating in the development activities in their constituencies.

The chairman said that Pakistan wanted peace in Afghanistan and curb terrorism and extremism for peace and promotion of regional and bilateral cooperation in all sectors of the economy.

He said that the President General Pervez Musharraf’s vision of enlightened moderation has helped in removing the west’s misconceptions against Pakistan and Islam.

Only because Musharraf rules with guns. Musharraf is not a dummy. He doesn’t want to see an “Islamic Bomb” in his lifetime. Unfortunately, with the Islamist troubles in Pakistan, the President General’s lifespan is a big question mark.

The German Parliamentary Elike Hoff and Alexen Bonde said that the exchange of Parliamentary delegations provided opportunities for mutual exchange and there should be more visits of this kind.

They said that Germany wanted Indo-Pak dialogue to succeed. They appreciated Pakistan’s role in war against terrorism.

More opportunities for Dhimmitude, mein herr.
