It’s Open Thread Sunday here at the Anvil again already, but today I want you to go read an article by British Author Paul Weston over at Gates of Vienna (hat-tip: Sounder).
Here’s a taste:
When Francis Fukuyama wrote The End of History and the Last Man in 1993, it was to argue that Western liberal democracy and free market economics meant an end to warfare within the west, and by default, the end of history.
Baron Bodissey and the crew at Gates of Vienna blog have declared their project the Counterjihad Calendar for 2008 is done. You can buy your own copy of the calendar from the Gates of Vienna storefront or directly at this link.
The purpose of the calendar is twofold:
1. To enhance a sense of community among the inhabitants of the countries of the West. We can show solidarity with one another even as we remain nationalists within our own countries. The West doesn’t require an artificial and corrupt empire like the EU or the UN to maintain its collective identity. There is something that binds us together, a common heritage that enables us to resist Islamization.
The irreverent atheist Pat Condell never ceases to amuse me with how he dissects Islam into all its bigoted parts. Thanks to Gates of Vienna for posting this latest of Condell’s videos, this one having to do with the upcoming farce called the Second Arab-European Dialogue on Human Rights and Terrorism. The point of the conference being imposed dhimmitude:
Saudi Arabia’s Human Rights Commission (HRC) will urge its counterparts in the European Union to ask their governments not to link terrorism to Islam and also to issue regulations to protect Muslims from prejudice and discrimination because of their faith.

When I saw the following over at Gates of Vienna (thanks to my Vigilant Freedom Newsletter — if you haven’t already joined other infidels in the 910 Group, do it), I stopped in my tracks. Then I checked the date. Can someone calculate the odds for me that the very same day (August 29th) that I mentioned Regime Change Iran being in my broken links, Gates of Vienna received the following appeal from — Regime Change Iran?

Here at the Anvil Emperor Palpatine commented recently thus:
I find that I’m getting information overload from the explosion of anti-Jihad blogs and web sites, many of which carry the same news. I think some sort of consolidation needs to be carried out in order to reduce the redundancy and time-wasting.
And I agree. That’s why I prepared for this eventuality six months ago.
In that spirit, I have just added five more syndicated feed summaries to Jihad News Feeds:

Censorship of the Anti-Jihad Blogosphere continues from on-high. A cross-posting of Gates of Vienna blocked by Blogger follows, and you will probably not be surprised who warned GoV of such a possibility:
Here’s a message GoV’s Baron Bodissey left in the comments to his latest post on GoV:
————————————————
I just attempted to post at Gates of Vienna, and was told by an automatic message that our blog is suspected of being a spam blog, and has been blocked by Blogger.
The full text of the message:
My compatriots over at Gates of Vienna have posted some “warm” video that you will appreciate. Baron Bodissey says:
I mentioned on Saturday that a group in Denmark was planning to burn an effigy of Mohammed (instead of a witch) at the traditional midsummer festival.
Since then the group that burned the Prophet has contacted SIAD, who kindly uploaded the video for us.
The Danes made quite a production of the bonfire — the soundtrack has “Light My Fire” on it…
Toronto Sun Columnist Michael Coren tells it like it is about the Crusades and other lies perpetuated by Islam. Can you handle the truth?:
THERE ARE things you are not supposed to say. Things that people pretend are not true. Things that get you into all sorts of trouble because we live in a dishonest world. Here goes…
Not supposed to say that the Crusades were not some vile Christian slaughter, but a response by Europe to the military expansion of Islam. Muslim armies had invaded Christian lands and would continue to do so for hundreds of years. They moved into Spain and reached the gates of Vienna.
