I was just brewing my coffee and decided to turn on FOX & Friends. Geraldo Rivera was on promoting his new book. Then the talk turned quickly to immigration. I couldn’t help but notice that, as has become all too-frequent, the phrase “illegal immigration” was not in use. Disturbing.
More disturbing though was the attitude of Geraldo Rivera, an attitude that I have witnessed several times on his part in recent memory. Geraldo, obviously an Hispanic-American, says that most Americans are “overreacting” to the “immigration problem.” This irritates me to no end. Overreacting? Geraldo you should be careful — your cultural-bias is showing like an old lady’s slip.
I have had plenty of painful hours to contemplate the state of the West these past few days. The shock of the realization that our own Congress and President are handing this nation over to illegals and Muslims has started to wash away this morning, enough for me to type this brief collection of my thoughts.
Michelle Malkin has the inside scoop from on the Hill about this damn amnesty bill that won’t die: Update- Senators to Bush: Enforce the laws first
President Bush puts more energy into opening the floodgates to Mexico than he does into securing the United States against illegal immigrants and Islamists. I strongly suggest you back off, Mr. Bush, and do something about the border problems — for real this time — and then come back to Congress after the break with something that actually addresses the very dire concerns of us, the legal citizens of the United States. Or don’t we count anymore, George? Or should I say, we won’t count if another 40 million Mexicans (and other foreigners) swarm across the border in the next five years as a result of amnesty giving the green light means “GO!” signal?

Amnesty seems to be coming for millions of illegals and even reasonable attempts to keep thugs and gang members out of the country are being stopped. This seems to me to be an excellent way of figuring out who not to vote for in the U.S. Presidential race. It might be too early to know who I am going to personally endorse, but I sure as hell have known who I will not, and this latest evidence just cements my earliest observations.

More bad news coming out of the state of Connecticut (you might recall this past article). But from the People’s Patriot Blog, signs that Americans are fighting back against the ‘Sanctuary City’ trend:
New Haven, Connecticut is going sanctuary city in a big and bold way. The town is encouraging illegal aliens to remain in the country through the issuance of municipal ID cards. Sanctuary cities exist under violation of federal law. Too bad no one on the federal level has the personal or professional integrity to enforce the law. The New Haven Register covers the criminal act with blissful ignorance.
Everyone better start praying for another 9/11, because if we don’t get it, we are more likely to be erroded away from within, slowly, steadily and completely.
How much of a jump is it for a few million Catholic Mexican illegals to become Islamic? (Heavily patriarchal society, …”machismo”…lots of babies…I’ve already heard the news that Islam is taking hold in Mexico, as it is.) What about Mexican Islamic “reverts” + “Dearbornistan” lobbying in Congress + Democrat moonbats in charge? What about our borders remaining so open that we can’t tell a Mexican from an Arab from a convict from a school teacher?
My response to a Jihad Watch thread I think worth reprinting here:
Isn’t it so typical that when I call for the OUTLAWING of Islam, I’m suddenly having apologists try to put terms and means into my writing that have never manifested or been suggested in anything I have ever typed here or on my own blog — where have I ever called for the “genocide” of Muslims? Nowhere.
Where have I called for “mass imprisonment” of Muslims?
Again — nowhere.

These two recent stories should open the eyes of even the most liberal among you:
Link
Fulton County police said they have no idea what prompted the brutal murder of a 9-year-old boy who was attacked with an ax in a parking lot.
The victim, Jordin Paulder, was murdered Monday night in the apartment complex where his father lives. Police believe the suspect was later killed by a police officer acting in self-defense.

Taking a queue from many sources I’ve seen today, I just want to recommend that if you value this country’s freedoms and want to protect our economy, go out on Monday and do some shopping, pump some gas, eat a restaurant, go see a movie, play some miniature golf, you name it, but go spend a few American dollars ($$) and counteract the planned May 1st protest by the pro-illegal immigration groups. Show these racist invaders that we are not going to be threatened and pushed around. Show them that the United States doesn’t need foreigners making anymore demands upon us. We get enough of that at the United Nations!
The Illegals just get more and more brazen. Freedom Folks has a current story that’s a perfect followup to the link I posted yesterday.
I want to make something clear here, by the way, that I am not in anyway racist against latinos, but what I am against is ILLEGALS. I know plenty of Mexican- and Cuban-Americans that feel exactly the same as I do. They are typically at least 2nd or 3rd generation Americans. The trend in recent years though has been for arrogant and misguided illegal immigrants to come here and not only expect things done their way, but they actually start insisting that this nation of ours, the United States, belongs to them and not to us. That’s why I have now started to view illegals as a threat on a par with Islamic Terror.
End the long overdue sweeps for aliens in the United States? Let’s hope not: the only people this should make nervous are criminals. Our borders need securing and the petty fears of a few people should not constitute a reason to endanger millions of American lives and to further burden our already war taxed economy.
FOX News has the following story:
LOS ANGELES - For years, border patrol agents in Southern California have done just that - patrol the U.S. border with Mexico and highway checkpoints, arresting illegal immigrants only near the border.
