U.S. Military Review of Islam in 1946

I have read this material before, but Marc Schulman of The Moderate Voice has introduced it again, so I was prompted to host the 1946 U.S. Military Review directly here on the Anvil as a result. What follows Schulman’s introduction should be required reading:

23 years before the Iranian Revolution and 55 years before the 9/11 terrorist attacks, a section (pages 24-34) of the very first of the intelligence reviews published by the Military Intelligence Division of the U.S. War Department identified Islam as a threat to world stability. It would be interesting to know how many of the higher-ups in our intelligence agencies and Defense Department were even aware of this report when the hijacked planes slammed into the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and the Pennsylvania ground.

Anvil Spotlight: Project Samson

Uncle SamThe following work was sent to me by a regular here at the Anvil, and I feel that it contains such powerful and concise information that it deserves broader recognition. It should prove useful, especially to those that are relatively new to the entire ‘problem’ of Islam. Beyond that, it is an outline for anti-Dhimmitude, meaning basically, how not to give in to Islamist machinations and how to peacefully combat the ideology and psychological warfare that is focused on Islamizing the world, militarily defeat it, and when the time comes, wage partisan actions in various forms (i.e. Internet Anti-Jihad).

Dhimmitude Alert: New Hampshire

The Islamic “imprinting” onto your kids continues; very much like one particular story that caught plenty of attention here on the Anvil before. Thanks to Always on Watch for alerting me to this article from The Cabinet Press:

AMHERST- For one night, on May 9, the quaint colonial town of Amherst, New Hampshire, was transformed into a Saudi Arabian Bedouin tent community, with the help of 80 seventh-graders at the Amherst Middle School. The weather cooperated, providing 85 degree temperatures to give an authentic Saudi feel to the evening.

Creating the Online Infidel Library

An interesting proposal from Wolfgang Bruno at Global Politician: create and maintain a virtual library of the most important reading materials for “infidels” on the Internet itself. Can it be done? You decide. I’ve taken the liberty of linking all the books recommended in this list, although I’ve also had most of them in my own library section on this site for many months:

Fatima Houda-Pepin, raised a Muslim and active in the struggle against the use of sharia in Canada, warns that the public should make an effort to get to know those in the Muslim community who are lobbying for application of Sharia: ‘One of the strengths of Islamists is that they know you very well. They know our history, they know our culture, they know our justice system.’ The reason why so many Westerners reacted with defeatism and despair over the Muhammad cartoons affair is because we are mentally on the defensive. We are reacting more than acting, waiting passively for the next Islamic move. We haven’t even named the enemy yet. The attacks of 9/11, the London and Madrid bombings were reduced to the work of ‘evildoers who had hijacked a great religion,’ not Islam itself. Muslims have been carefully studying our weak points for decades, to find ways to exploit them. Meanwhile, we have largely been ignoring them, first because we didn’t take them seriously, and later because we would not want to get involved in a global clash with the Islamic world. Get real: This is a world war, at least a cold one. War has already been declared upon us, and it is irrelevant whether Westerners and infidels like this or not. We need to recognize this and start fighting back, before we lose this fight without ever having admitted that we were in it.

It’s time to turn the tables. We’re the most powerful civilization in human history. We’ve split the atom and sent men to the moon. We can deal with a cult from 7th century Arabia, if we put our minds to it. Yes, they have a head start, but they have weak points, too. Many of them, and sometimes huge ones. Find a pressure point and squeeze. As philosopher Eric Hoffer has said, you can discover what your enemy fears most by observing the means he uses to frighten you. If we had some basic understanding of our enemy and watched him closely, we would see that he made at least two major mistakes during these recent cartoon events that we could exploit. First, he showed us his hand and his true intentions, thereby waking up millions of infidels just a little bit too early. Second: He also clearly demonstrated some of his weak points, both the extreme arrogance and the ridiculous hypersensitivity to even the slightest criticism. During the Muhammad cartoon affair, the Islamic world might as well have worn a gigantic neon sign saying: ‘We fear freedom of speech above all else. Give us bombs, just don’t send us rational criticism or mockery.’ They scream ‘We love death,’ yet cringe like shivering Christmas puddings in front of a few cartoons. If this is what they fear most, then this is where we should push harder.

Jihadist Muslims are war fetishists. Their obsession with orgies with virgins in the heavenly Islamic brothel and the close connection between death and orgasm borders on necrophilia. You don’t frighten a war fetishist with war, and you don’ scare a death cult with death. Although the use of force will sometimes be necessary to win this fight, it is important to understand that this is not Islam’s weak point. Islam is a warrior creed, a very good one. War, death and mayhem are its home ground. Free speech is ours. We should draw the enemy away from his home ground by teasing his arrogance, lure him out into the open and over to our home ground, where we have the natural advantage.

Now is the perfect time to launch an ideological counter-offensive, using the Internet. Internet censorship is still less effective in most Muslim countries than in China, and there is now a critical mass of ordinary Westerners who understand that Islam constitutes a mortal threat to their freedom. Many of them could be mobilized, if somebody leads them and shows them how. The key to winning this struggle is not to engage the silent majority in the Islamic world, but to mobilize the silent majority in the West and in the infidel world, and perhaps the minority of ex-Muslims within the Islamic world.

The idea of using the Internet to spread critical thinking isn’t new, although it is not always directly linked to Islam:

In Arabic, “Internet” Means “Freedom”

Somewhere in Baghdad a man is working in secrecy to edit new Arabic versions of liberal classics. He has made Arabic translations of more than two dozen articles and nine books and booklets. Sponsored by the Cato Institute, he joins a small but growing assortment of Arabic-language blogs promulgating liberal ideas. “No more than 10,000 books were translated into Arabic over the entire past millennium,” says the U.N., “equivalent to the number translated into Spanish each year.” “The Internet is a historical opportunity for Arab liberalism,” Pierre Akel, the Lebanese host of one such site, metransparent.com, said. “In the Arab world, much more than in the West, we can genuinely talk of a blog revolution.” The U.N. report notes that in the Arab world’a region of 284 million’a book that sells 5,000 copies qualifies as a best-seller. The Internet, in contrast, makes possible worldwide, instant distribution, at a nearly negligible cost.

However, some books critical of Islam are already available online, and more will probably be added:

Call for Internet Publication of Sex, Sharia and Women in the History of Islam.

This is a call for the Internet publication (and eventual translation) of the book Sex, Sharia and Women in the History of Islam by Marywan Halabjaye. The book concerns how Islam is allegedly used to oppress women. Halabjaye’s book is based on an analysis of the Qur’an as well as recognized Sunnah and Hadith. This call for Internet publication is based on the belief that the best response to those who would suppress publication of a book is to increase publication, promotion and distribution of that book. The most efficient way to do that is on the Internet. This request is also based on the belief that it would be a powerful and timely lesson if the only thing accomplished by those who seek to suppress publication of the book Sex, Sharia and Women in the History of Islam is to cause it to be published to the entire world.

I have advocated the idea of creating an organized network to promote Islam-critical books in cyberspace. Maybe a dozen or more blogs and websites could form the global backbone of this network, the cyberspace version of Radio Free Europe. This to make it more difficult for hackers to block the efforts, and to disseminate the books as much as possible. The websites should preferably be based in the USA, since it has the strongest protection of freedom of speech, or at least outside of the jurisdiction of the Eurabian Union. Start with those who are already in the business, for instance Jihad Watch, Faith Freedom International, Little Green Footballs, Michelle Malkin and others. These ‘backbone’ websites should receive financial compensation for this task. Anybody, anywhere should be able to download the books or republish them at their own websites. This would bypass media censorship and create an Online Infidel Library. It would mirror the online library Google is trying to create now, but with books about Islam only. The information would spread around the planet faster than CAIR can say ‘Islamophobia’. The genie would be out of the bottle, and no amount of intimidation, hacker attacks or ‘hate speech’ lawsuits could return it to the bottle.

I have been contacted by at least one person who was pondering the possibility of financing and hosting critical books on Islam on the Internet, and wondered whether this was feasible. To publish in English a handful of these books on the Internet isn’t too complicated, it just requires some private individual or group of people with sufficient means to buy the copyrights and support the backbone websites and it could be done quickly. I don’t know all of the practical details of how much such an operation would cost. But since the entire text of these books would be put online for free, I reckon one would have to pay significant sums to buy the copyrights. The good thing about starting out with private citizens is that we would directly engage the silent masses who are fed-up with Islam and Islamic demands. If our so-called leaders won’t lead this fight, then we will have to push them and force their hand. They only feel pressured by Muslims now, it’s time they feel some pressure from infidels, too. That goes for European politicians in particular.

However, when you increase the number of books and thus costs, and certainly when you start with translations into multiple languages, it probably becomes too complicated and time-consuming for private citizens to undertake. I have suggested publishing Bat Ye’or’s book ‘Eurabia’ online, both in the full version and in abridged versions, translated into multiple European languages. Some of the most important Islam-critical books should also be translated to major non-Western languages, Chinese, Hindi, Arabic, Persian, Turkish and so on. I envisioned this to receive clandestine support of, for instance, the US government. It is unlikely whether they can or want to do so openly, but the amount of money it would cost would be peanuts compared to what the Iraq campaign costs on a single day and could be provided secretly. This could be called Operation Theo van Gogh, or perhaps Operation Asma bint Marwan, after the poetess who was murdered by Muhammad’s thugs for mocking Islam.

NOTE: The following list of books is based solely on my own subjective views. The authors have not been consulted about whether they would agree to publish their books on the Internet, and it is quite possible that some of them might object to this. However, it is likely that several of them would agree to this, provided that they get adequate financial compensation for this. The number of suggested titles could easily be doubled, but any such Online Infidel Library would probably include some of the books I have listed here. I have read most of these books myself, but include some by reputation or recommendations from people I trust:

Death is not enough for Jihadists — torture, beheading, terror, child-killing, and using children to kill

Islamic Jihadists are an evil breed. If they have the time, they won’t just kill — they’ll torture and maim first. Islamists will burn their own daughters to death. Others will even use children to commit heinous acts in the name of Islam.

And yet where’s the tumult? Where’s the international outrage? It hardly exists, but we well know that the opposite is not true. The smallest provocation is turned into a firestorm of rage from the Muslim world, even when the information is fabricated in the first place, as is often the case with claims of Qur’an desecrations and claims of torture by U.S. military personnel.

Notice no Muslim riots — and don’t try to tell me it isn’t because the majority of Muslims secretly condone the abuse of “unbelievers” — because if Muhammad was any example of how to live life for Muslims, then acts like the ones detailed in this article are only the proper example set by Islamic leaders throughout history. Horrid acts at the hands of Islamic Turks are all but legendary. Rapes of captured soldiers in WW I, Armenian genocide, tortures. If Islam is the Religion of Peace®, then Jack the Ripper must have been a philanthropist.

ISTANBUL, Turkey: Three employees of a publishing house that distributes Bibles were slain Wednesday in the latest attack apparently targeting Turkey’s Christian minority.

The attack added to concerns in Europe about whether this predominantly Muslim country — which is bidding for EU membership — could protect its religious minorities. It also underlined concerns about rising Turkish nationalism and hostility toward non-Muslims.

The three victims — a German and two Turkish citizens — were found with their hands and legs bound and their throats slit at the Zirve publishing house in the central city of Malatya.

Police detained four youths, aged 19-20, and also suspect a fifth, who underwent surgery for head injuries sustained apparently in trying to escape by jumping from a window at Zirve, authorities said.

The five suspects had each had been carrying copies of a letter that read “We five are brothers. “We are going to our deaths. We may not return,” according to the state-run Anatolia news agency.

Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan condemned the attack, and said investigators were looking into whether there were other suspects or possible links with terror groups.

“This is savagery,” Erdogan said.

The German and one of the Turkish victims were found already dead, and the third victim died after being taken to the hospital, Malatya Governor Halil Ibrahim Dasoz said. The German man had been living in Malatya since 2003, he said. Anatolia identified him as 46-year-old Tilman Ekkehart Geske.

It was the latest in a string of attacks on Turkey’s Christian community — which comprises less than 1 percent of the 70-million population.

In February 2006, a Turkish teenager shot a Catholic priest dead as he prayed in his church, and two other Catholic priests were attacked later that year. A November visit by Pope Benedict XVI was greeted by several nonviolent protests. Earlier this year, a suspected nationalist killed Armenian Christian editor Hrant Dink.

‘Youths’, ‘insurgents’, and now the code-name, ‘nationalists’. Islam does a terrific job of cowing the media into submission.

“After today’s murders, the Turkish government must allow itself to be asked whether it is doing enough to protect religious minorities,” the party’s general secretary, Ronald Pofalla, said in a statement, calling religious freedom a “fundamental human right.”

“The Turkish state is still far from the freedom of religion that marks Europe,” Pofalla said.

Freedom of religion that is going to cost all free people dearly because the absolute heresy and lie of Islam is cultivated, protected and spread. No cult such as Islam should be feared and coddled by history the way it has been, not with so many proven crimes done in its name, with bombings and beheadings and murders done in its name every single day. Not when Islam will not let you out of its grip without a death sentence! Not when hate is in the teachings and it is a matter of honor to have to murder “unbelievers” if they should speak out as I am doing right now.

I am not afraid, you bastards, because reality and truth are on my side. Islam is an insult to my intelligence, my honor, my dignity and my existence. Until it is marginalized I will continue to only amp up my fight, I will only get more aggressive in my tone, language and desire to see this evil confronted and the true enemy of free people labeled for what it is.

Islam can not continue to operate like an assassin in the night forever. Not as long as more and more people become aware and unafraid and educated.

Turkey began EU membership negotiations in October 2005 but talks have stalled over Turkey’s refusal to formally recognize EU-member Cyprus. The country is under intense pressure to improve human rights and to expand religious freedoms and free speech as part of its membership bid.

Religious freedoms for the less than 1% of the Turkish population that aren’t Muslims? Don’t make me laugh. The percentage alone should be proof enough that there is nothing but terror and oppression for anyone that is not a Muslim in Islamic lands!

A group of 150 lit candles and unfolded a banner that read “We are all Christians” in downtown Istanbul to protest at the attack and show solidarity with the Christian community. But there was far less public outcry than with Dink’s murder, which was followed by widespread protests and condemnations. More than 100,000 people marched at Dink’s funeral.

Malatya is known as a hotbed of nationalists
, and is also the hometown of Mehmet Ali Agca, who shot Pope John Paul II in 1981.

Turkish Hezbollah — which has been known to “hog-tie” its victims while torturing them — takes its name from the Lebanon-based Hezbollah, but has no formal links to it. Turkish authorities recently said they were witnessing an increase in the group’s activities.

The Gruesome Details

Three Protestants murdered at a Christian publishing house here were tortured for three hours before their assailants slit their throats, a press report said Friday, quoting one of the doctors involved in the grisly case. Dr. Murat Ugras, a spokesman for the Turgut Ozal Medical center, told the daily Hurriyet of hospital surgeons’ fruitless efforts to save Ugur Yuksel, one of the three victims of the massacre at the Zirve (summit) publishing house, which distributed Christian literature.

“He had scores of knife cuts on his thighs, his testicles, his rectum and his back,” Ugras said. “His fingers were sliced to the bone. It is obvious that these wounds had been inflicted to torture him,” he said.

The two others who were killed, Necati Aydin, pastor of Malatya’s tiny Protestant community, and German Tilmann Geske, a Malatya resident with his wife and three children since 2003, were also tortured, press reports said.

The abuse lasted for three hours as the five men detained at the crime scene interrogated the three on their missionary activities, they said.

“We tied their hands and feet and later gagged them,” the mass daily Sabah quoted one of the suspects as telling police.

“Emre slit their throats,” said the youth, who was not identified, referring to Emre Gunaydin, the alleged leader of the gang, who is at the same hospital in serious condition after jumping out of the publishers’ third floor office in a bid to flee police.

This war is with Islam. Enough tolerance of evil. Enough appeasement of barbarians. Enough using our own democratic freedoms and laws to sow the seeds of our own demise. I will never be silent on this issue. I am beyond disgusted at the continuing hand-wringing and the destroyers from within our nations, both Islamic and Leftist.

The time of reckoning is fast approaching when I know that too many people will have become aware of the true nature of the lie that is Islam and Americans and Westerners will stand up for what is right and save what is left of our societies before they are washed away by cultists.

Do not accept death like sheep. Do not accept lies like children. Do not wallow in the perverted attempts at equivalence by the likes of Rosie O’Donnell and Michael Moore and Nancy Pelosi. See fools and traitors for who they are. See Islam for what it is.

Islam is the Enemy.

Spencer: Sympathy for the Devil

Rober Spencer makes an excellent and frustrating point today on FrontPage:

Almost everyone thinks Zacarias Moussaoui is mad except Zacarias Moussaoui, and now he will have a lifetime to ponder that curious fact. Those who believe he is insane got yet more evidence on Wednesday when he was sentenced to life in prison for his role in the 9/11 attacks, and reacted as if he had been acquitted. He clapped his hands and shouted, “America, you lost. I won.” After all, what sane person would react in such a way to being sentenced to life behind bars? As if to explain his bizarre behavior, CNN placed a video link immediately following its account of Moussaoui’s exclamation: “Watch how Moussaoui grew up surrounded by pain — 3:07).”

The Covenant of Hamas and Mr. Whittaker’s Dhimmitude

MEMRI has posted today a very important document translation. I have taken the liberty of highlighting certain, shall we say, enlightening sections:

The Covenant of the Islamic Resistance Movement — Hamas

[Statement from MEMRI] In view of the recent victory of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) in the Palestinian Authority Legislative Council elections, it is important to make the Hamas covenant [1] available in English for English speaking readers. The English version which is currently posted in a number of websites is not satisfactory, and therefore MEMRI is providing here a closer, more accurate translation.
