Well, I’m back and refreshed from the continuing holiday festivities. Since Thanksgiving, I have eaten two entire pies by myself, more than enough turkey to make me sleep like a hibernating polar bear and mounds of stuffing and mashed potatoes! I wonder what’s for Christmas dinner this year…

To my Trust No One Department comes this report from Robert Pigott of the BBC:
A total of 138 of the world’s top Muslim leaders, clerics and academics have written an open letter to the Pope, the Archbishop of Canterbury and other leaders of the Christian world.
It warns that world peace depends on better dialogue between them, and points to the fundamental beliefs each have in common.
But the real significance of the initiative lies in the creation of a powerful new lobby in world politics.
Well, here we go again. This time it’s cartoonist Berkeley Breathed of Bloom County and Opus fame that is feeling the pinch of Dhimmi American media and the ongoing tug-of-war with Muslim “sensitivities.” It seems that the latest (August 26th) and upcoming (September 2nd) Opus comic strips are just too hot for quite a few (c. 25) American newspapers to publish. What’s the problem? Surely the ‘Religion of Peace and Nature’ isn’t going to stir up a ruckus over a cartoon?

Careful what you wish for because you just might get it. 18 CommentsI’ve received an email from Stanislav Shmulevich, who has been arrested in New York for putting a Koran in a toilet at Pace University. And his case is even more outrageous than we first reported.
First, Shmulevich was arrested and jailed for 24 hours. Second, he’s not facing misdemeanor charges—he’s being charged with two felonies, criminal mischief and aggravated harassment.
Felonies. For putting a book in a toilet.

I thought someone was joking when I saw this information for the first time this morning on FOXNews as I was making my breakfast. Sadly, it is true. Amazingly, we replace a capable and classically American bulldog like Bolton with — a Muslim.
6 CommentsPro-Israel activist Jan Markell says she cannot understand why there is has been virtually no coverage of President Bush’s recent announcement that he is appointing a Muslim to the be the next U.S. ambassador to the United Nations.
So, it turns out that my suspicions were true — once again. I’m starting to really learn to trust my intuition. You see, it seems that Senator Barack Obama’s campaign has switched the language to state that he’s never been a practicing Muslim. But unfortunately for Barack, any practicing Muslim will tell you that there are no ex-Muslims, only unbelievers and that apostacy from Islam is a crime punishable by death.
Strangely enough, in the past 48 hours, without any conscious intent on my part, I ended up in a swirl of debate between Christians and Atheists and how both relate to this new world filled with Muslim aggression. It all started with a comment I made on a Jihad Watch thread. I just quipped that “Atheism has not built a nation yet”, to which one presumed atheist chimed in with a long-winded retort that not only was I wrong, but the United States itself was created by agnostics and atheists.

Now that I’m finally catching up with my rebuild of this website and have time to comment again, I couldn’t let the recent swearing in of Congressman Keith Ellison go without note.
I’m steamed. Very steamed. I view the inclusion of a Muslim into the United States Congress bad enough for reasons that would be obvious to most of you, but Ellison has proven me right in what I’ve stated privately for many weeks now: his first allegiance is to Islam and not the United States of America. And how am I sure of that? Well, he demanded to be sworn in on a copy of the Qur’an. But not just any Qur’an mind you — one that belonged to Thomas Jefferson.

Witnesses said the attacks came hours after neighboring Ethiopia formally declared war, saying it was protecting its sovereignty against an Islamist movement.
Fighting raged for a seventh day near Daynunay, close to the town of Baidoa, seat of Somalia’s weak interim government which is backed by Ethiopia.
