Despite rumors and press postings to the contrary, Iranian President Ahmadinejad is indeed going to appear behind the podium at Columbia University in New York City today. Ahmadinejad will deliver a prepared speech at 1:30 EST and then take part in a question and answer session with the Columbia students.
The sad thing in all of this is that just as many of the students at Columbia that claim they understand that Ahmadinejad is a hate-monger would also say the very same thing about someone like me. Think about that while you’re perhaps watching the live televised coverage of Ahmadinejad or the YouTube copies that will no doubt be posted later today.

In my blog travels yesterday, I came across the following young Texan with common-sense and a feisty attitude and it gave me renewed hope that there are still young minds out there that haven’t been completely hijacked by Hollywood, Rosie O’Donnell and our illustrious Leftist professors. I present to you now, Righthandgirl, as she dissects the actor/activist buffoon Sean Penn, better-known as Jeff Spicoli. One has to wonder if perhaps Sean’s method-acting didn’t permanently fog his brain during the filming of ‘Fast Times’ :

The in-fighting in our Congress is a travesty on the best of days, but this wrangling over the additional troops being sent into Iraq is beyond contempt. Either we stand with our President and our troops or we don’t. What’s it going to be?
My entire life, like all Americans, I have been witness to the dirty joke that is our U.S. government. There were glimpses of greatness during the Reagan years, but ever since, it’s been a roller coaster ride. (Thanks, Bill.) And the brief coming-together period that followed 9-11 was predictably short.
